Walking down the street on a cold, crisp night
Having one destination that he knows is right.
Whistling a tune to cover the impatience
Thinking of that someone who keeps him unanticipated.
He's wondering how she will dress,
And this thought keeps him at unrest.
He begins to hum now because whistling wasn't enough.
He's mumbling to himself, "Man, this is rough!"
He arrives at her apartment, his heart begins to pound.
Then he stands outside and listens... "What's that sound?"
He hears soft music, signifying that she's ready and waiting.
He anticipates how at his job the other fellas will be hating.
But, it's not about that because he loves her.
He's a one-woman, loving type of brother.
He takes a deep breath and knocks lightly on the door.
She opens and says, "Hi," and he grasps the banister so that he doesn't fall out on the floor.
He's so amazed at her radiating beauty
That he doesn't even try to check out her booty.
She invites him in and watches him stride in,
And she says to herself, "Damn, here I go again..."
