Images upon images flash through my mind, the pain becoming more intense with each passing second. I fell to my knees as everything came rushing back.
Flashback (1)
"(Name)," A man I recognise as George said to me before I cut him off.
"I'm sorry George, but no matter what you say, it will not change my mind. I can't just ignore this, and I'm not going to wait for the council either." I could see the defeated look in his eyes.
"There's just no stopping you, is there?"
"No, there is not. Come on George, I'm an assassin, one who was trained by you for many years. It's my obligation to help those who are apart of the Creed. No matter the cost, no matter the risk, I will do what must be done, what needs to be done."
"You always were a stubborn woman, just like your mother." He whispered, and I could hear the sadness in his voice.
Flashback (2)
"My, that is quite the skill you possess." Someone spoke an I turned around, seeing a man, with black hair and brown eyes, standing there.
"Who are you?"
"My name is Henry Green. Judging by your weapons and skill, you're an assassin, like me."
"That's right. My name is (Name) (Last name) and I've just recently arrived from Croydon. I've heard that London is in desperate need of help, so I'm here to assist in anyway I can.
Flashback (3)
"Where did you disappear off to, Greenie?" A very familiar man asked.
"Jacob." A familiar woman said.
"It's alright, Evie." Henry said. "It was a good thing I went out actually. I happen to have stumbled upon another assassin."
"Really, then where are they?" Jacob said as I stayed hidden. Henry began to look around and, after sometime, his eyes found mine. I lifted a finger to my lips, signalling for him to be quiet. He gave a slight nod and turned towards Jacob and Evie.
"Don't worry, you'll meet her soon enough." As he spoke, I made my way very, very quietly, behind the twins, waiting for the right time to make my presence known.
"At least we have more help now." I decided that now would be the time to introduce myself.
"That you do." The twins jumped at the sound of my voice and turned around.
"How long have you been standing there?" Jacob said as he placed a hand on his chest.
"More like how did we not notice you were there?" Evie said.
"Stealth is something I mastered at a young age, I've had plenty of time to practice and to perfect. Anyway, nice to meet you Jacob and Evie Frye, my name is (Name)."
Flashback (4)
"Ok, now you're scaring me love." Jacob said.
"Good. What kind of assassin would I be if I don't happen to have people fear me every now and then?" I said.
"I'm just going to try and stay on your good side from now on. I believe that would be the best thing to do." I couldn't help but find this very entertaining, how Jacob seems to be actually afraid right now.
"Aw, don't worry sweetheart, I wouldn't actually kill you. You're too adorable to kill." I couldn't help but ruffle his hair as I spoke, only to notice how soft his hair actually is and begin to run my fingers through it.
Flashback (5)
"Thank you for the help lads." I said to some men as Jacob kept walking to the door.
"Anytime Miss (Name)." The first man said.
"A chance to get rid of those pesky Blighters, we wouldn't have missed that for anything." The second man said.
"What you and the Frye twins are doing, we want to help with. London has suffered for far too long, we need people like you to help us." The third man said.
"Trust me gentlemen, we will do whatever it takes to free London from Starrick. I refuse to sit around and do nothing while innocent people are suffering." I said.
"You're a good woman Miss (Name), I hope Jacob realises that."
Flashback (6)
"I've seen bigger." Jacob said.
"My, I had no idea that you swing that way Jacob." I said with a smirk on my face.
"Wait, what?"
"It's alright, there's no shame in admitting it. After all, there are quite a few good-looking guys out there." I sent him a wink as I spoke.
Flashback (7)
"You two find a way out of here, quickly!" Jacob said.
"What about the other valves?" Another man said.
"Jacob, you're not seriously thinking about it, are you?" I said.
"Take a wild guess love." Jacob said as he glanced towards the door, signally for the man and I to get out of there. "Now, get out of here."
"I swear, Jacob, you're more reckless than anyone I know. You better be out of here soon, or I'm coming back for you."
"Don't worry about me, I'll be but a few moments. Now go." Nothing else was said as the man and I made our way out of the building.
"That boy is really something special."
Flashback (8)
"That's not what I meant." Jacob's voice sounded rather husky as he spoke, and I couldn't help but notice how he seemed to have moved a little closer towards me.
"Then why don't you tell me what you meant then. Or, you could show me if that's what you prefer." I said, catching him off guard.
"That's a very tempting offer.
Flashback (9)
"J-J-Ja-Jacob." I stuttered out. He let out a sigh of relief and said,
"Damn, someone really did a number on you, but I'm glad that you're ok. What happened?"
"P-Pl-ease...help me." My body felt exhausted, and I closed my eyes.
"Don't worry (Name), I'll get you out of here, I promise." I heard him say. I felt him lift me up bridal style before being placed down once again. I felt...safe.
Flashback (10)
"Jacob Frye, I swear, if you apologise once more, I'm going to hit you, with my blade. I glared at him as I spoke, and he immediately stopped talking. "Stop apologising for it wasn't your fault. I anything, it was mine because I was too much of a coward to face you after what I said about what nearly happened between us."
"Let's just forget about that for the moment. Tell me, are you alright?" I wrapped my arms around his neck and buried my face in his chest, tears running down my face. He wrapped his arms around me, bringing me closer to his body as he embraced me.
"It was horrible, the things they did. I have never felt that much pain before in my whole life, and I never want to again. I'm so glad that you were there, I'm so glad that you were the one who saved me. Thank you, Jacob." He placed his hand on my cheek and brushed my tears away. He the placed his hand on my cheek and caressed it as he looked deeply into my eyes.
"I'm just happy that you're back, you have no idea how much I missed you." His words were nothing more than a whisper. As he looked into my eyes, I couldn't help but notice that he glanced down at my lips. He leaned in closer, it wasn't long before our lips were very close to one another's I could feel his breath upon my lips.
Flashback (11)
I was serving drinks to the many customers who came to the theatre for the show Maxell Roth was putting on tonight. And of course, things just had to go south. One minute I'm walking to another customer, and then the next, I'm stuck under a pillar. I looked around for anyone to help me, and saw that Jacob and Roth were talking to one another. I couldn't hear a word they were saying, but I did see Roth grab Jacob's face and kissed him on the lips.
End of Flashbacks
More and more images flashed through my mind. Once it was done, I took a few deep breaths and collected my thoughts. After a few moments, I grabbed the cane sword and the gauntlet, holding them tightly as I felt a part of me returning, a part that I had forgotten.
"Liberating London, The Brotherhood, Evie, Henry...Jacob..." I muttered as I clutched my weapons tighter. "How could I forget about that? How could I allow a part of me to be taken from me?" I thought back to what happened.
Flashback
"And we are going to stop you and free London from you and your Blighters." I said to Starrick.
"Perhaps, but you won't be there to know how this story ends. In fact, you'll forget all about this tragic tale." He said, and I looked at him in confusion.
"Just what are you talking about?" Before anything else could be said, I felt something be injected into my neck, causing my eyes to feel heavy and my body go weak.
"Don't you worry about that?" I tried so hard to keep my eyes open, but it felt like I was fighting a losing battle. Not only that, but it felt like all my memories of my life as an assassin are being taken away from me.
"W-What did you do t-to me?"
"Rest now, my dear. Dream a beautiful dream and see you when you awaken." I could no longer fight it and found myself succumbing to the darkness.
End of flashback
"That bastard will pay. But first, I have a ball to attend." Was the last thing I said before preparing for tonight.
