*i wake up to someone lightly shaking me. i take a pillow and hit the mystery person with it. i feel someone jump on me and put their hands on my waist*
joey- is that how you wanna play?
ivy- joeyyyy i'm tiredd.
joey- then i'll wake you up.
ivy- and i will go back to sleep.
*i keep my eyes closed and he starts to tickle me. i attempt to hold in my laugh but unfortunately can't. i start laughing hysterically. he smiles as he continues tickling me.*
ivy- stop!
joey- whyyyy?
ivy- i can't breathe!
joey- fine fine.
*he slowly stops and i breathe heavily, trying to get my breath back. i put the pillow over my head blocking the sunlight that is shining it, still feeling joey sitting on my legs.*
joey- come on ivyyyy.
ivy- whyyyy?
joey- i ordered room service for us.
ivy- what time is it?
joey- 9:30 why?
ivy- you said you'd wake me up at 10:30, now goodnight again.
*i hear him grown in frustration and i smile knowing i'm not giving him what he wants, which is me to get up.*
ivy- i'll get up on one condition.
joey- and that is?
ivy- what food did you order?
joey- hashbrowns, bacon, and pancakes.
*i remove the pillow from my face and look at him with a big smile. he ordered my favorite breakfast. i hug him tightly.*
ivy- that's my favorite!
joey- i know, that's why i ordered it.
ivy- i need to get ready!
joey- we don't have to be anywhere until 3:00
ivy- what's at 3?
joey- lunch and then we are going to swim.
ivy- yay! food!
*he chuckles at me with a smirk on his face. i shake it off and run to the door when there's a knock on it. i open it expecting it to be our breakfast but it's my sister. my heart drops into my stomach as i gulp. i just stare at her as my face goes from smiley to serious.*
skylar- where were you last night?
ivy- here.
skylar- and why?
ivy- because you piss me off sometimes and i need a break.
*i can't believe i said that to her. i've almost never stood up to her like that. i see the anger in her and jake's eyes. he raises his hand up and i feel the stinging on my cheek. i rest my hand on my cheek and slam the door in their faces. i turn around and joey runs up to me. he wraps him arms around me, holding me close as i start crying. i feel him rub my back as i cry. joey asks if he can see it so i show him. he softly caresses my cheek with his thumb*
joey- he had no reason to hit you.
ivy- i know..
joey- this hurts me.
ivy- what do you mean?
joey- seeing you hurt, i hate it.
ivy- i'll be okay.
joey- are you sure?
ivy- yeah.
joey- let me open the door next time okay? or at least look through the eyehole when there's a knock.
ivy- okay.
*he softly kisses my forehead before there was another knock. i sat down letting him open the door and thankfully this time it was our breakfast. we eat and get ready by 12:30. i watch joey as he gets ready and see how much he doesn't do on his hair.*
ivy- i wish it took me 5 minutes to do my hair.
joey- my hair is a lot shorter than yours love. plus you look super good with long hair.
ivy- very funny.
joey- just saying the truth.
*i laugh softly and put my sandals on. we walk out of his room and i run towards the stores on the ship. joey wraps his hand around my wrist, making me stop after about 5 steps. i turn around and look at him*
ivy- why'd you stop me?
joey- i can't let a cute girl run off alone.
ivy- oh shit, i didn't think of letting a cute boy be alone. you're staying by my side mister.
joey- yes ma'am.
ivy- ew!
*he intertwines our hands as we laugh. i blush and start walking towards the store again. he walks with me, softly swinging our arms. i look around for a ring to fit my small fingers.*
joey- what are you looking for?
ivy- a ring.
joey- we should get matching ones.
ivy- or matching necklaces, those are harder to lose.
joey- how about we get both? i buy rings. you buy necklaces.
ivy- sure but, that means you're going to have to let me look around alone so it's a surprise. also my ring size is a 2.
joey- ugh fine.
*we exchange smiles and part our separate ways in the same store. i find a necklace that has 2 hearts after about 20 minutes. it could resemble joey and i. i grab 2 of them and go up to the cash register. i see joey walk up behind me in line.*
ivy- did you find any?
joey- yeah. i have a reasoning for them too.
ivy- me too.
joey- ooo.
*i buy the necklaces making sure joey wouldn't see them. i wait outside the store while he pays for the rings. he walks up to me and intertwines our hands once again. i hold his hand and we start walking.*
ivy- when are we showing each other?
joey- how about lunch?
ivy- yeah, that sounds good.
joey- good.
ivy- neither of us asked this but where are you from?
joey- north carolina, what about you?
ivy- california.
*i felt my mood drop a little. he'll probably find someone back in north carolina and like her. i look at him as i stop walking and he looks back at me.*
joey- are you okay?
ivy- we won't stop talking.. right?
joey- no of course not. we can facetime whenever we want to.
ivy- okay. i just don't want to lose you as a friend.
joey- best friend.
ivy- yeah, best friend.
*we smile as we walk onto the deck. i pause in my tracks yet again as i see my sister and jack.*
