*Dan POV*
“BECAUSE I’M IN LOVE WITH YOU” I shouted at her, it just slipped out my mouth. But I didn’t regret telling her. She was backed up against the wall, tears streaming down her cheeks. She didn’t say anything so I got closer to her.
“I am so in love with you Tink, I was being selfish and I wanted you all to myself, I’m sorry.” I say clutching her hand.
There I had said it the words I should have told her earlier but better late than never right?
“I asked you out right before Dan, I stood there and asked you how you meant I love you when you wrote it on my leg and you said I’ve loved you since we were like three years old...so as a friend. I asked you and you chickened out.”
“I know...I should have just told you then.”
“But you didn’t, but that’s not even the worst part of this” she shouted at me, but I made sure I kept hold of her hands. “The worst part is that you took my phone and text him behind my back.”
“I know im so sorry for doing that but I needed you to be mine” I say quietly to her, hoping she would just listen to me.
“But I never did anything like that to you and I hate…hate Amy. But she made you happy so “ was happy.”
“Yea I know but...”
“No buts Dan you went behind my back and text Jauden. How do you think that made me look?”
“I’m sorry Tink...but you just don’t understand how much being apart from you would kill me...I need you. I love you. I’m so in love with you.”
I needed for her to understand that I was fighting for her...I wasn’t letting her leave me and go with him without a fight. She was meant to be with me, I had finally come to realise that lately, I wasn’t losing her for no one. She was silent for a few seconds...I was hoping she would just forgive me.
“If you loved me Dan...you wouldn’t have stabbed me in the back...now I don’t think I can trust you.” She says removing her hand from mine, her voice so dry, so cold. I had hurt her more than i thought I had.
“You can , you know you can trust me. We’re best friends.” I smile slightly at her, my body so close to hers. It was taking every inch of my being not to kiss her and pull her into my arms but that’s not what she needed right now. She lifted her head so her eyes met mine.
“The thing is though Dan...now...I don’t know if I can”
She pushed me away from her and walked out the front door. I collapsed to the floor as my emotions hit me...what had I done?

*Liv POV*
I walked out the house and down the street to clear my head. I was so angry with him but so hurt at the same time.
I still can’t belive my ears...he loved me. Like was actually in love with me. I had hoped for this for so long but never thought it would come true. I just couldn’t believe he went behind my back and text Jayden, that’s what hurt. The sneakiness of it all, it was sly. Could I trust him not to do it again?
I ended up walking to the park not too far from the house. I sat down on the bench and looked around at where me, Dan, Evie and Luke used to come as kids to play with our parents and then as teenagers to get drunk. I saw the tree we used to climb, the slide we used to fall off and the den we used to hide in and get drunk and bunk off school. I couldn’t help but have a running flash back of memories as I sat here.
I got up and walked over to the giant oak tree that stood at the right hand corner of the park and climbed up like I always used to. I sat where we used to sit and smiled to myself. It was still there.
Liv & Dan BFF with a heart round it and Evie & Luke BFF right next to it. We had the boys scratch it into the tree one night when me and Evie told our parents we were staying at Dan’s. Dan had told his mum he was at Luke’s and Luke’s mum thought him and Dan were at mine and Evie’s. We were fourteen and everyone at school were getting their first kisses but because we always hung out together lads never approached me or Evie. They were scared of Luke, he was rather tall. So this one night we had stolen some alcohol from our parents and sat in the tree and got drunk. It didn’t take much before we were all declaring our undying love for one another and revealing our secrets. To at which point I mentioned that I still hadn’t had my first proper kiss and Evie nodded in agreement.
*flashback*
“Shut up neither of you have kissed a boy” Luke shouts out.
“Shh Luke and no” I reply leaning on the trunk of the tree for support.
“Seriously?” Dan says looking at me shocked
“Yea, okay now can we get over it?”
“I’ll give you your first kiss” Dan grinned at me
“Shut up Dan” I laugh but then nudges me and I glance over at Luke who had his tongue down my sister throat.
“Evie” I laugh and she pulls away smirking.
“Sorry, but Luke offered and I didn’t want to say no” she grinned before kissing him again to which I laughed rolling my eyes at her
“So...you going to let me kiss you?” Dan smiled at me and I nodded shyly.
He placed his hand softly on my cheek and leant in. It was weird...I wasn’t nervous about kissing my best friend.
I could feel his warm breath against my lips, seconds later his soft, warm pink lips were pushed up against mine.
He pulled away slightly before tilting his head the other way and kissing me again. I could feel his tongue against my lips so I opened my mouth slightly allowing him to slip it in. I wrapped my arms around his neck as I pushed my tongue into his mouth. We must have kissed for like five minutes before he pulled away gasping for breath.
“Wow” he grinned
“Yea” I smiled “Thanks Dan”
“Not a problem ” he winked at me
I looked over to Evie who was grinning at me, “Enjoy that did ya”
“Shut up Eve’s” I laugh
“Take that as a yes” Dan winked at me
“Well for my first kiss I enjoyed it yea”
“Course you did it was with me” Dan chuckled
“Shut it Danny boy”
“Whatever Tink you love me” I just rolled my eyes at him as he pulled me into a hug
“We’re all going to laugh at this when we’re older, how you boys gave us our first kiss when we were drunk in a tree” Evie smiled drinking some more of her lambrini.
“Yea and how you gave us ours as well” Dan smiled rubbing the back of his neck.
“Shut up, no way” I say looking at him
“Err no. Me and Luke hadn’t kissed a girl either. We just acted like we had in front of all the lads”
“Aww well now we have done each other a favour.” I smile
“We’re still all going to laugh about this when we’re older” Evie giggled
“Yea I know” Luke laughed pulling Evie close to him.
*end of flashback*
I stroked the heart of mine and Dan’s and smiled. Tears falling down my cheeks. At that moment I wished I was at home curled up with Dan instead of being sat here alone.
As much as I couldn’t believe he went behind my back and text Jayden, it was kinda romantic...him fighting for me.
He had hurt me but I had forgiven him. I just hope it wasn’t too late, that I hadn’t ruined my chances with him.
I pulled my phone out my pocket...
