Darren wrote a letter to me not so long ago. I wrote him back. The usual schmoozing, but I've no intention of being with him, again. It's impossible. He's so sweet, so wonderful--he loved me more than anyone else ever has. He understood me, but it's all so impractical. I wish things were different, but they're not, and that's that. I only wrote him back saying that I love him because... well, he's going to die. I want him to be happy when he dies. I want him to think he was loved, even if I don't really love him, anymore.
I kept his letter.
