Kuroko Tetsumi's POV
I looked behind to see the other match and all I can say is that they lost. Though I can sense that the team B of the Kirisaki Daichi did their very best and they were just put in the wrong place and time to put their effort.
I sighed and just focused on our match that is currently happening. With the audience cheering, the game becoming more and more intense as it closes to the end.
I was sweating because of the intensity that is happening in the court and it's been a while since I felt like this when it's the match between the Uncrowned Kings and Generation of Miracle. Aside from the nostalgic and anxiousness, I can say that Shinchi will throw his final card, but the question is when? It's already in our final quarter with 8 minutes left on the clock. We already put Tetsuchi in and I am so proud of our training together, he was able to get away from Takao-kun's sight and he became liable to his teammates, especially Taichi.
Rikochi requested for time out and it was really the good opportunity to talk to Taichi. we let our team breathe for a moment, replenish themselves and encourage them to win the match. We are doing everything we can to push them the best they can, I went closer to Taichi who is standing behind our seat and looked at him seriously. He was frowning at me.
"Taichi," I stared at him with my heterochromia into his, he was taken aback by my sudden stare. If I were in the perspective of Taichi, he will see my eyes glowing. I know it's exaggerated but that is how a certain coach of Tatsuchi and Taichi described me when she saw my full potential.
As if my surroundings went into silence, I heard whispers in the background but not enough to distract us. I felt my eyes widen and suddenly, in a swift second from looking at him from top to bottom I smiled at him.
"Wha-- did you just...?!" Taichi soon realized what I just did to him, I didn't answer yet and just analyzed what I gained from him.
Shit... that was the word that I first thought when I put the pieces together.
"Taichi, do you still remember the time we trained together?" I asked him who is still confused like an idiot, "Taichi!" I snapped my fingers in front of him.
"Hah? We always play together so I don't know!" He sulks.
"No! One of our special training! That day when you met him also!"
Once he remembers it, his frown turns into a serious one then looked at me seriously.
"Don't tell me you're gonna do that?" He asks I nodded.
"Only a lil' bit I guess." I said and pout, "but not the way we used to train, I will guide you." I grab a marker and a board and told him what he has to do, he nodded and hopefully he understands what I was trying to explain to him because it will be quite complicated because he will also help me in predicting their moves.
The short break ended quickly when they started going back to the court, sweats are started form on my head as I fix my bangs so that they won't stick on it.
"Tetsumi, are you okay?" Rikochi asks as she saw me in this state. I looked at her.
I just nodded at her and focus my attention to Taichi only, I shut down my surroundings and let me focus on him alone. I took a breath and concentrated...
Third Person's POV
As if the atmosphere changes and became heavy, players felt this sudden changes when the game resumes.
Everyone was moving to get the ball from one another, Midorima on the other hand, is still bothered by what's happening. It felt strange and something heavy is pressing him making him more alert than ever, he was looking around to where that source comes from but nonetheless, he still has won the game.
He got the ball, everyone roared but was cut off when the ball he was about to shoot is gone from his hands as if it disappears. All the people who watched the scene were shocked and look at a certain red-haired player who snatched it away from Midorima. He turn to see him already on their way to score, he was frozen by what happened. He did not expect to be that fast, he wasn't in his full form of shooting when he just did that, Seirin scored.
"What was that?!" Takao was shocked he then looked at his friend who is looking at Kagami when he was surrounded by his teammates.
"You okay? Did the coach scolded you that good to be that shock?" He jokes at him, but Midorima did not react and just took a breath, he removes his glasses to wipe the sweats on his forehead.
"Be alert Takao, you will take care of everything." He said to him which made him confused.
"eh? I mean sure, but why?"
Midorima just looked at his friend eye to eye when Takao realized something that made his eyes widen as he saw what's in front of him and left him alone. As the games go on, Kagami's moves change but no one seems to notice it probably the intensity and the adrenaline rush they are feeling now that it's the final quarter to determine who will win this match and of course they have to give everything they got.
Except for one person who knows what's happening, it was Kuroko Tetsuya who noticed how Kagami's moves changed. He knows what happened and looked at Tetsumi who is bowing on her seat without any of the people on the bench to notice her behavior...
As if Midorima's vision became clearer, his surroundings slow down as his focus is on Kagami, he took a breath and closes his eyes for a moment and as if on cue when Kagami passed him when suddenly everyone heard a whistle signaling a foul from Shutoku. Everyone was shocked by the sudden action made by Midorima, he almost tripped by his own action when he was able to slap the ball away from Kagami but was able to balance himself from falling on the ground when he was able to place his hand on the floor.
"A foul from Midorima?" one of the bench players of Shutoku reacted.
"That was unexpected..." another player commented.
"Is he distracted?" another commented.
"Hey, Midorima." the captain of Shutoku, Otsubo Taisuke, was about to approach and confront Midorima but stopped halfway when he saw Kagami was looking at him. The way Kagami's look says it all.
"This is insulting," Midorima spoke as he fixes his glasses and glared at Kagami, "You're getting some help because you think you can't handle me with just your skill? don't be ridiculous Kagami."
As if on cue, Kagami and everyone felt the immense power coming out from Midorima. Everyone was shocked and as for Tetsumi, she knew all along that this will happen. She then looked at Kagami who is looking at her, she smiled and nodded giving him the gesture that her plan is a success.
I know you're going to your zone, Shinchi... Tetsumi thought and took a long breath and let go of Kagami. All this time she was on Kagami, she has the ability to connect with a player by manipulation. It really is not Kagami out in the court playing, it's like Tetsumi is playing for a brief minute just to get Midorima into his zone. Yet using her ability has its consequences.
"I will really apologize to Shinchi later, I think we broke our promise..." Tetsumi smiled sadly as she spoke to herself. she then looked at her coach who is standing with widen eyes.
"No way! Is he in the zone?! At the time like this?!" Aida Riko said in shock, Tetsumi pulled her sleeves to calm her down.
"Rikochi, please calm down."
"Did you just see that, Mei-chan." Mibuchi Reo asked his friend who is watching worriedly for Midorima.
"Cheeky lil' girl." Mei spoke making her company chuckle.
"If I remember correctly, I think she has done that many times just to provoke in each of our matches." She looked confused as she looks st him.
The cheers grew louder as it's turn for Kagami and Midorima to get the ball from one other, it's obvious that Kagami is having a hard time to pass through Midorima's defense as he was in a whole next level. Cheers booms across the stadium when Midorima snatches the ball from Kagami as he tries to dribble between his legs to at least distract his opponent but regretted it as if he knew what Kagami is about to do.
He then passes it to Takao who is half away from Midorima and was able to pass it that far which made him to be taken aback by the sudden impact he received from the pass. He's scary...! Takao thought and smirked at the same time as they made their way to score.
"Tetsumi-chan does that every match we went through when she sees potential players," Mibuchi said, " that's why every match we play is very interesting and stressful at the same time!" he shook his head as he remembers the time in their middle school. Mei just chuckles at him.
"What do you mean by potential players?" Mei asks.
The crowds cheers for the score of Shutoku. Only 3 minutes left before time runs out.
"Potential players that can enter the zone, and looks like Tersumi-chan just did that to trigger your lovely boyfriend." He said to her.
As Mibuchi narrows his eyes to Tetsumi, he could see that she really did use that ability that he is very familiar with since he always drags her to the clinic.
You could say that she also enters the zone whenever she uses her true power of the empress' eye, similar to Sei-chan's ability... He thought as he watches the match with Kagami and Midorima fought for another pass-through.
"But something is wrong..." he spoke making Mei turn to look at him, he waved it off and just watch the game in front of them.
This chapter really drains my brain out, I apologize for not giving Midorima's zone his moment he deserves because Midorima is not the main plot of this story and I plan on sticking on my original plan to finish this fanfic with satisfaction.
And I can't believe I have to cut this because I ran out of ideas and I have to watch KnB season 2 again to refresh my brain. Once again, thank you for reading and I apologize.
