Your pressed you lips together. Trying to find a way on how to walk all the way from your work to your apartment in the pouring rain. Looking at your wrist watch to check the time it was currently 8:16 pm.
Standing under the roof of the fast food place that you worked in, it was the perfect timing for you to not bring your umbrella on the day it actually started raining.
Not that you were forgetful, contrary to what you thought it never rained to where you lived. Mostly because for the past few weeks news reporters said that it would be pouring. So you always brought your umbrella with you just in case but it never rained. It also added extra weight in your bag so you stopped bringing it. And look what happened when you didn't.
Finally concluding on just waiting for the rain to end, you stood on your place and waited in silence. Not that you could go back inside your work. The owner already locked the door and left before you could.
You would occasionally shift your weight between your toes and heels. You felt your legs slightly weaken from standing there for about almost fifteen minutes already. It not like you could sit anywhere since all the places you could sit was constantly getting wet.
"Um, excuse me.."
Your body slightly jumped due to the sudden voice. Seems like you were zoning out since you didn't realize a person was standing beside you.
Turning your body to the left you saw a man who looked the same age as you, blond hair with dark brown eyes. He had a defined jawline with an oval-shaped face. You took a second to look at the man.
Your eyebrows slightly rose up, telling him to continue talking.
"I recognize you since we work at the same place. I actually left early but came back since I forgot something. But it looks like you don't have an umbrella. Would you like to take mine?" He asked, holding his black umbrella in front of you.
For some reason you didn't recognize him at all. At first you thought he was a random stranger who lied and wanted to kidnap you. But you immediately put that thought away when you could see him wearing the same uniform as you were wearing.
You were obviously flattered by his kindness on giving you his umbrella, but you just couldn't accept. How about him? Was your first thought.
"Ah no no," you shook your head, motioning the umbrella back to him. "I'm fine—"
He shook his head back to you. "Your clearly not. Take it." He motioned it back to you.
After a while of moving the umbrella to each other, he suddenly stopped, with his eyes lit up looking like he had a lightbulb above his head.
"You know what." He took the umbrella in his hands and opened it. "Why don't we share?"
You stood there frozen for a moment. You were very hesitant when it came to interacting with strangers. But then he showed you an eye smile which in someway made you feel safe and warm, so you decided to agree.
Following his steps, you both walked under the umbrella. You could her the sounds of water drops falling onto the umbrella he slowly walked making sure he wouldn't leave you behind.
"I live in the apartment beside the convenience store." You spoke in the silence. The only thing that could be heard was the raindrops falling down.
Even though you couldn't see his face. You felt the atmosphere become brighter. "Really? I live there too!" He told you excitedly and smiled. You stared at him slightly eyed wide on how he could light up the atmosphere with his smile.
He chuckled, which somehow made your stomach feel weird. "Isn't this a coincidence?" He looked at you, catching you off guard so you looked ahead and walked without speaking a word.
"Yeah.." You scratched the back of your neck, suddenly feeling flustered. Awkward silence filled the area, well at least for you it was awkward. He didn't seem bothered at all.
You looked the opposite way from him, trying your best to not feel awkward.
In the corner of your eye you could see him look at you. "I'm Jimin."
When you heard him speak, you turned to face him and completely froze when you saw him give you a sincere smile. You didn't know why you froze. It was just something about his smile that make you feel so... warm.
"U-uh..." It was almost as if your brain has stopped working. You panicked in the inside for a second.
You smiled back at him. "I'm y/n."
After hearing your name, he smiled wider. This time, with his teeth. There it goes again, that weird feeling in your stomach.
