Chapter 3
~NIALL’S POINT OF VIEW~
Wow, I can’t believe what just happened
I bumped into Valerie
The same Valerie who I thought I’d never see again
I guess we were meant to be best friends
We step into her house
“Hey Val, did you bring eggs?” Someone asks from upstairs yells
“I went to work Taylor why the hell would I bring eggs?” Valerie yells back
“BECAUSE I THOUGHT WE COULD MAKE CUPCAKES, GUESS I WAS WRONG!” I’m guessing her name was Taylor who yelled beck
I heard footsteps come down the stairs and I see a very bubbly blonde
“Hi!” She says to me acknowledging my presence
“Hello” I reply
“Eggs?” She asks again looking at Valerie
“I TOLD YOU THE FIRST TIME I DIDN’T BUY ANY DAMN EGGS! GOSH!” Valerie yells
“I was just asking! Fine then I’m calling Josh to bring them” She says sticking her tongue out at Valerie
“Whatever” She replies rolling her eyes
“Niall, this is Taylor, Taylor this is Niall” She introduces us
“Whoa, whoa, whoa, the same Niall who was your best friend before and is currently in One Direction?” She asks
“No retard, another Niall” Valerie says
I hold back a laugh
“Gees why so mean!” Taylor says pinching Valerie’s cheeks
“I had to go to work! And you guys get to know each other better while I go take a shower ‘cause some one here dropped coffee on me! BRB” She says hoping up the stairs
“HI! Do you by any chance have any eggs?” She asks
Her bubbly attitude is so amusing, I love it.
I laugh.
“Nope! And I thought you were just going to ask someone else” I say
“Oh yeah! I’ll just call Josh!” She says
“Is he like a friend?” I ask
“Well I guess he Is our friend, an annoying one , but he’s okay once you get to know him” She tells me
“Oh” I say
“Come in the living room, why are you awkwardly standing by the door?” She says, leading me into the living area of their home
“You and Valerie must have been really close, when I first met her she wouldn’t shut up about you” She tells me
I smile mostly to myself
“Why was she ignoring me for so long? I’ve tried contacting her so many ways, but she never tried to contact me back” I ask
“Well, there is a story behind that. I’m sure Valerie will tell you everything. Would you like something to drink?” She asks
“Sure”
“Well, I’m not sure what famous people like to drink”
“What do you mean famous people, I’m not famous” I say
“Yes you are. Don’t famous people use special toilet paper?” She asks
“Um, no? And it’s okay I’m not thirsty” I say
“Okay then! Well, I should call Josh” She says and with that she picks up her phone and calls him
“Josh come here it’s an emergency and bring eggs” She says
I couldn’t hear what Josh replied
“It is an emergency though! DO YOU WANT A DAMN CUPCAKE OR NOT!?” She screams into the phone
Yum, cupcakes
“Okay then come here quick!” She says and hangs up
“Okay, now we just have to force Valerie to make us cupcakes!” She says obviously feeling accomplished
I laugh
“Good luck with that” I say
“I’ll need it. Unless Josh sits on her until she makes cupcakes! YES I GOT A PLAN!” Taylor says/screams the last part
“TAYLOR IF YOUR PLAN INVOLVES ANYONE SITTING ON ME, THEN DON’T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!” Valerie screams from upstairs
“No never!” Taylor screams back
Man, I feel bad for their neighbours

~VALERIE’S POINT OF VIEW~
I came downstairs and Taylor went upstairs
“Okay, well I don’t even know where to start” I tell Niall, sitting down
“How about from the beginning?” He asks
“Okay so-”
I was cut off from a ring of the door bell
I was relieved
I didn’t want to talk about my past AT ALL
I walk up to the door and open it
“I bought the eggs!” Josh says
“Taylor will be happy” I mutter
“Why so grumpy?” Josh coos
“I had work today, blah, blah, blah take you eggs and go upstairs”
Taylor runs down the stairs
“EGGS!?” She asks
“Yup got ‘em right here!” Josh says
“Okay now the both of you try to be quite when you go upstairs” I say
“Why I want to stay down-” Josh stops talking because he notices Niall’s here
“Niall, right?” Josh asks
“Yeah buddy! And I’m guessing you’re Josh?” Niall asks
“Yeah man!” He replies
“Okay Josh take Taylor upstairs and please don’t bring her down until I say so” I say
“Okay! So I’m in charge?” Josh asks
“Yeah sure” I reply
Taylor huffs and goes upstairs followed by Josh
We sit back onto the sofa
“Okay, where were we?” I ask
“The beginning” Niall say laughing
“Okay so-”
*FLASHBACK*
I was in my room at the X factor house.
It was only a couple of hours until my live performance.
I sat down and breathed in and out.
The pain in my head wouldn’t leave me alone.
Someone hitting me in the head with a hammer would hurt less.
Before I knew what was happening, I was screaming.
I had collapsed on the floor.
Next thing I knew I blacked out.
When I woke up and looked around, I was so confused.
“What happened” My mind thought.
The first thing I do is grab my phone and call my mom and tell her everything.
“Should I call Niall?” The voice in my head questioned.
“No, don’t bug him” My thoughts replied.
My head was pounding and I honestly felt like I was dying.
I called the ambulance and they came to pick me up.
The whole ride to the hospital I kept wondering what the hell is going on.
Before I knew it I was in the hospital with doctors giving me different tests.
I fell into unconsciousness.

I woke up with my mom stroking my hand while I was on the hospital bed.
“What’s going on?!” I questioned her, startled that she was here.
“Shhh, lie down Val. Everything will be- it will- be okay” She says her voice cracking and water exploding out of her eyes.
She ran out of the room, and a doctor walked in.
“What’s going on?” I ask him scared to death as the words leave my mouth.
He stands next to me.
“You have a brain tumour” He tells me calmly.
“WHAT!? NO THIS CAN’T BE HAPPENING!” I scream and I feel a sharp pain in my head.
The tears stream down my face as my brain tries to register what the doctor just said.
“Calm down, It’s okay you’re going to be fine, the surgery will take place next week when you’re back in Ireland” He says.
“But I can’t leave! I need to stay here!” I scream.
My mom runs back into the room.
“It’s okay babe, you can audition again” She tells me
“No, no mom I can’t. I don’t want to. I made it so far I want to stay in the completion” I sob.
Later it finally register,
I’m not sobbing because I’m not going to be on X factor, but because the thought hits me.
I could die.
Dying….That’s forever.
“Mom, tell me it’s a dream, please” I whisper my voice cracking as the salty tears fall down my face.
She strokes my hair.
“Mom TELL ME I’M GOING TO WAKE UP AND EVERYTHING WILL BE OKAY!?”I scream.
“If only I could my love, if only I could” She says.
*le snap out of flashback*
“Wh-what happened after that?” Niall asked scarred. I could tell he was not expecting what I just told him
“I died during the surgery and I’m a ghost” I say laughing.
He grabs my hand a serious look in his eyes.
“Valerie, don’t joke around about this! Why didn’t you tell me?” He says.
“Because I didn’t want anyone to think that I’m weak, to treat me the way that you’re treating me right now” I say
“You have no idea how worried I’ve been about you. I called my mom to get your mom’s number who gave me your number, but you never answered. You could’ve at least told me that you were going through so much. I would’ve gone home with you-”
“Exactly” I say cutting him off
“I didn’t want you leave your dream of becoming a singer for me Niall” I tell him
“But-”
“But nothing Niall”.
“But you’re okay now right?” Niall asks
“Yup! But the chances of the tumour coming back is 50/50 so you never-”
“Don’t say that. You’re going to be fine” He says having me in one of his Horan Hugs
He gently stroked my hair and let go of me when he had a question
“Wait but why are you in London?” He asks
“Well, I just love it here so much. I grew up here remember?” I say
“Oh yeah, I keep forgetting you’re not actually Irish” He says winking.
“But I don’t even have an Irish accent!” I say
“I guess I’m just slow on things” He says laughing
His laugh is so beautiful even when he stopped laughing; his voice rang in my ears
“Well, I came out to London house hunting and I found Taylor who was already friends with Josh and we all just became friends. But know they are more like siblings then friends. My hair grew back pretty fast though, so that’s a plus!” I say
He smiles
“I’m pretty sure you looked beautiful while you were bald too” He says
“Aw, why thank you!” I say
Taylor hopped down the stairs along with Josh following her
“Valerieeeeee?” Taylor sings
“What?” I ask
“Can you make us cupcakes?” She asks
“Fine”
“Before you say no-Wait. Did you just say yes?” She asks
“Yes I did, I rather make cupcakes then clean up the mess you are going to make” I say getting up and going into the kitchen
“Wait Niall put your phone number into my phone” I say
“Okay” He replies reaching over to grab my phone and adds his number
“Are you free tomorrow?” He asks walking into the kitchen
“Yeah. Why?” I ask
“Maybe we can hangout like me, you, the rest of the band, and Taylor and Josh if they want to come?” He asks talking really fast.
Knowing Niall for like FOREVER, I know that he only talks fast when he’s nervous
“Sure, where are we gunna go bro?” I ask him
At this time Niall was standing right behind me
“Where do you want to go love?” He asks
“I don’t know now move outta my way, I’m trying to make cupcakes” I say
I can just feel Niall smiling behind me
“Oh so now cooking is more important than me?” He asks
“Yes, it has always been” I say smirking
“Valerie, I should get going but save me one of those cupcakes” He says.
“No I just think I’m going to eat them all” I say as I mix the batter.
“Don’t joke around with me when it comes to food” He says.
“You haven’t changed one bit” I say chuckling.
He laughs.
“Okay, I have to go home and explain to the lads why I didn’t bring Nandos and why I was so late” He says.
“Bye Nialler” I say giving him a quick hug.
“Bye Val” He says.
He walks into the living room saying bye to Taylor and Josh too.
With that, he leaves the house.
“What was that?” Taylor asks when Niall left.
“What?” I ask going back to the cupcakes.
“You guys were so flirting!”
I choke on my own spit.
“WHAT!? No we weren’t!” I say.
“Did you guys go out before?” Josh asks chugging down milk.
“EW no. Okay, calm down Niall is a brother to me” I say.
“Sure didn’t look like it” Josh says wiping his mouth on his sleeve.
“JOSH! THAT’S GROSS!” Taylor screams.
“Sorry!” He says putting the milk back into the refrigerator.
“Okay the batter is done” I say putting it into the oven.
“You and Niall are so going to get married” Taylor says walking out of the kitchen.
“I’m going to have to agree with blonde here” Josh adds following Taylor.
“WTF!? And you and Josh are going to get married” I say, proud of my comeback.
“Yes, yes we are” Taylor says rolling her eyes.
I stick my tongue out at her and watch the cupcakes.
