"Annabel..." He repeated.
"That's beautiful." He added.
He brought me closer to him.
"Thank you. For telling me your name."
He felt so safe. He was like a shield, willing to protect me at all cost.
"Don't tell anyone. No one can know. Can you do that for me?" I asked.
"Why."
"I... Just.. please."
He sighed.
"Ok."
He pulled me closer to him till our bodies were touching each other. He felt so warm. I felt his muscles flex and reflex. It was soothing. Would this man be my knight in shining armor?
"Don't leave. Promise you won't leave." He said.
I don't know how I should respond. So I just remained silent.
"Annabel?"
He said my name. He said it so easily. Like the words were only meant for him to speak. It easily rolled off his tongue. No one has said my name for so long. Not even my mother. I sighed in relief, and just placed my hand on his bare chest.
He tensed up.
"I'm tired."
He smiled.
"Then sleep."
I closed my eyes. And darkness soon consumed me.
Hayden's POV
I was happy. I was so happy like I've never been happy before.
She said her name. Annabel. What a perfect name. So dangerous, yet filled with fire and power and love.
"Don't leave. Promise you won't leave." I suddenly blurted.
But...she didn't respond.
She only placed a hand on my chest, catching me by surprise. Her hand was so cold. It felt like she was absorbing my heat. It felt like she needed me. And..it's the best feeling ever.
"I'm tired." She said.
I smiled.
"Then sleep."
She seemed reassured, and just close her eyes.
God I love this woman. I'm never gonna do anything to break her fragile heart ever again. She's too precious, she's too blinding. She's too fragile.
Annabel's POV (Finally!)
The next morning...
I felt warm. Really warm. I opened my eyes and spotted mate sleeping beside me with his arms wrapped around me.
It was nice scenery to see early in the morning.
I 'escaped' from his grasp. He immediately growled from the loss of contact.
His eyes suddenly flew open and his eyes widened frantically. He scanned the entire room and relaxed as soon as he saw me.
"You're still here." He said.
"I'm sorry. I'll leave." I quickly said.
My hand grabbed the doorknob but he placed his hand on mine.
I gasped in surprise.
"Not like that. I was relieved you were still here. Why would I be mad?"
"I-i.."
He placed a soft kiss on my cheek.
I need to ask him something.
"M-mate..."
"Hm?"
He was breathing in my scent.
"C-can I go b-back to that room?"
He paused.
"Which room."
"Your mother's. I w-wanna play some more. B-but you don't h-have to say yes. I-i only asked. You can say no. R-really you can. I-i won't be mad. I really understand it was y-your m-mother's. " I said frantically.
I was afraid he would punish me for asking such a stupid question. Would he be mad?
"I should have-"
"No no. It's ok. I understand. I'm n-not allowed. I know. I'm sorry for a-asking. "
He gripped onto my hand on the doorknob.
He is angry. He is furious.
I made him mad. And I'm gonna be punished for it.
I shut my eyes tight.
"I should have..."
Here it comes.
"I should have told you about it long time ago. You were welcomed to come in as soon as you stepped into this house love."
I widened my eyes.
Say what?
"U-uh-"
He chuckled.
"You're free to use it." He said freely.
I didn't know how to respond.
"Mate?"
"T-thank you." I whispered.
He wrapped his arms around me.
"Do you mind sleeping in here tonight?"
"Why are you asking? You're the alpha."
His grip was tighter.
"And you're the Luna. Every alpha listens to their Luna. Because the alpha loves to please his Luna."
That's not true. That's absolutely not entirely true.
"No. It's not. The alpha has the most powerful position in a pack. Even the Luna of the pack has to obey his words. If not, she could be punished. The Luna has no control over the alpha." I said.
He let go.
Why did he let go?
"Who told you that." He said.
"U-uh.."
"Who told you that."
"A-an alpha."
Shit. No. I'm talking too much.
"Which alpha."
He was angry.
I quickly turned the doorknob and left.
I ran downstairs.
"Annabel!" He shouted behind me.
I widened in shock as he said it. I stood motionlessly. He said my name. He said my name.
And the whole pack heard it.
I clenched my fists.
I specifically told him not to say my name to others. I know it's stupid to suddenly get all over emotional but my name was a secret. A secret only he knew. A secret I've tried to keep from the world. And with one word from his sexy lips, 500+ people have heard it.
"Anna-"
"Shut it." I said.
Everyone gasped. All were staring at me.
He was walking closer to me.
"Go another step closer and I'll kill you."
He paused. And everyone was watching us, whispering among themselves.
"M-"
"Enough!" I yelled. I faced him.
"I specifically told you not say my name in front of others! It was a secret and you have blurted it in front of your pack! I trusted you! And in one day, you broke it again! What is wrong with you?!" I cried.
He stood there shocked.
"Hey! No one talks to our alpha like that!" A person walked closer.
He wanted to punch me but I easily dodged it.
He was caught by surprise. I didn't have enough time to react to his expression as another came. And another. And another.
I hit, I punched, I dodged.
And in a matter of seconds, all were on the floor.
The rest who didn't attack were stunned. Even mate.
"Weak. Very weak."
And I walked out. Out of the door. Out of that house. Out of fury.
Hayden's POV
Amazing. Just amazing. The way she defeated most of my men. In a few minutes.
My men, who were trained all their lives versus my mate, who was just found a few months ago and not taught a lot of defence and attack. And she defeated them all.
She's perfect.
But being the stupid me, I did something horrible and stupid. Again.
"A-alpha." They said.
I slapped my hand on my forehead.
"Idiots. Why did you defend me."
All were confused.
"Huh? Alpha-"
My wolf, Zane, suddenly took over without me realising it.
"Mate. Mate. Mate." He kept saying.
I tried my best to calm him down. But he was over the edge.
*Growl*
Everyone started to run.
Only my beta stood behind.
"Alpha, calm down. She's just a she wolf. Why are you so anxious?"
"You dare?" Zane threatened.
"Alpha."
Zane was about into respond. But as soon as he saw Tyler giving him his 'famous' death glare, he shut his mouth.
I hate how he is able to keep me shut.
Zane, calm down.
Mate is hurt! How the fuck do I calm down?!
For her. Please.
Zane took a few moments to breathe.
She's only angry and that was enough to make Zane on edge. Damn she's good.
"Tyler."
"Yes?"
"Take care of the pack for the day. I'm going to find her."
"But alpha.. someone else can do that. She doesn't deserve you to search for her."
"She does."
"Fine. Be back by night or I'm calling a search party."
"Got it."
And with that, Zane rushed through the doors, looking for our precious mate.
