David's Pov

When I woke up to an aching boner and a space beside me, my first instinct was to call for my wife but then the smell of pancakes told me exactly where she was.

Expelling a breath, I sat upright and the comforters immediately pulled down my chest, exposing my hard dick that now pointed up, reminding me I'd skipped an important part of my daily routine which involved fucking Dawn every morning before work and then repeating the whole process when I got back.

Don't get me wrong, I wasn't a slimeball or pervert or whatever kids called it these days. I liked sex, I craved it, more so now when my wife had the face of an angel and the body of a devil.

I let out a frustrated groan as I clambered out of the bed. Right now, I was a prickly mass of sexual frustration because going a total of four days without as much as touching Dawn due to her period flow turned me into an aggravated pussy, and she didn't make it easy for me either with the way she walked around the house half-naked.

I picked up my briefs from the nightstand and slid the black fabric over my legs but they did nothing to conceal my stage five blue ball situation.

Resigned, I sighed and finger-combed my tousled hair before walking out of the room and down the stairs to the kitchen where she was currently cooking, her hair wild, clad in nothing but her baggy flannel shirt which was a fucking turn-on.

It was funny how we'd been married for over a year now and yet, I still couldn't get used to seeing her like this.

I strolled further into the kitchen and fastened my arm around her feminine waist, arms just below her soft breasts. "Good morning, my love." She smelled so good I couldn't help but nuzzle into her lush hair and take a good long sniff.

"You do know the whole point of buying clothes is so you can wear them right?" She drawled, looking over at her shoulders to chastise me.

"I know." I chuckled softly, gripping her hips tighter. "But I know you love seeing me this way."

"I think you've scarred my eyes enough."

"That's not what you said the last time you took me in your mouth," I whispered the words in her ear, satisfied with the way her breath hitched.

"You're an absolute moron, David."

I pushed my hip forward, rocking against her backside in gentle strokes as I pressed open-mouthed kisses along the side of her neck. "This moron is forever at your service."

Her breath hitched again. "I can't right now David, we need to have breakfast."

"I'd rather have you for breakfast, my love." I soothed, sneaking my hand underneath her shirt and cupping the underside of her left breast gently.

She shuddered in my arms. "I'm still bleeding."

I squeezed her taut nipple. "A little blood never hurt anyone."

"Oh my god, you're insane," she released a breathy laugh, wrenching free and turning so that her beautiful doe eyes found mine. "Such a silly boy." She scolded, fighting back a smile as she brushed her dainty fingers through my hair.

I couldn't help the smile that stretched on my face. It was fascinating how we ended up together. Usually, I preferred my women glamorous and stylish with confidence and experience and a heavily endowed body to go with it but Dawn was none of that. She was simple and innocent and real.

Perhaps that was what drew me to her; it was the way she looked at me differently, the way her eyes loved and cared for me even without her lips confessing it.

Two years ago, If you'd asked me for my thoughts on love, I would've told you straight up that it made no sense and was a total waste of time because women saw me and saw only what I could give. They saw the money, the wealth, they saw an opportunity for a good fuck, but Dawn saw me for who I was. She saw the lonely man living a lie behind expensive watches and Armani suits.

But I wasn't lonely anymore tho. Now, I was more in love and alive than I had ever been.

"Why don't you go upstairs and shower while I set the table," she suggested as a full smile curved her lips, giving her an entirely different look, one that was even more phenomenal. I felt a knot tighten in my belly. God, she was beautiful, a perfect mix of seduction and beauty-her smile, her blue star eyes, that bashful look on her face- I was a fucking lucky man.

"Only if you'll let me have you for dessert."

"Nice try lover boy." She flattened her hand on my chest and pushed me away. "I believe you've been having enough of me for the past one year."

I laughed, something this woman made me do often. "Alright, you win." And then I walked out, climbing the stairs back to the master bedroom.

I brushed and stepped into the shower. It took me ten minutes under the cold streams of water to calm my dick down without touching it. I shampooed, showered, and tidied myself, and after a glance at the mirror told me that I looked good enough, I stepped out.

By the time I climbed down, Dawn had already served the table and was halfway through a piece of pancake.

I pulled out one of the dining chairs and sat. "So," I started, taking a healthy bite from my pancake and once I swallowed, I continued. "Father called."

"What did he say?" She asked, lifting her coffee cup to her lips.

"He's hosting this charity event tonight and wants me to give the opening speech. Of course, I tried talking my way out of attending but he was keen on seeing us and mother was no help either."

Her smooth brow furrowed in a frown. "Amanda?" She looked up at me with eyes of inquiry, not bothering to hide her dismay and I didn't blame her for it.

"I know you two don't get along very well-"

"We don't get along at all." she cut me, setting the mug down with a loud clang.

I dropped my piece of pancake and let out a long breath. "You know I love you right?"

"It doesn't matter if you love me, your stepmother hates me." She pointed out. "She almost missed our wedding and I'm sure if father hadn't threatened to close down her jewelry shop, she wouldn't have shown up."

"She has trust issues baby, you know this, she was only trying to protect me."

She released a humorless chuckle. "From who, me?"

I rubbed a hand over my face and pinched the bridge of my nose. Cajoling her wasn't going to be as easy as I'd anticipated. "Not you okay. It's complicated."

She edged herself off of her chair and picked up her plate.

I frowned. "Where are you going, Dawn? We're not done with breakfast."

"If you're going to take her side, you can as well find another date for the function." She turned around and left.

God, I hated this.

I dropped my fork, sighed wearily, and ran a hand through my hair. If years of international philandering had taught me anything it was that, as much as women were sweet and quite fun to play with in bed, they were also a handful.

"Dawn, baby," I got up, walking into the kitchen where I met her aggressively washing the dishes.

"Dawn?"

"Go away." She bellowed in a flat tone, not sparing me a glance.

"Baby, I'm not taking any sides. I just really want you two to try and get along, for tonight at least."

She turned to me, a scornful dismissal in her dark accessing gaze. "Why should we? I'm perfectly fine keeping a safe distance from her."

I stepped forward. "Because I love both of you and it hurts when I see the two most important women in my life rebelling against each other."

Her eyes softened. I desperately hoped she understood me because I was getting too old for this shit.

She sucked her bottom lip between her perfect white teeth, staring at me excessively. After a moment, she sighed. "Fine. I'll try and get along with your stepmother but don't get too excited because if she comes at me, or insults me, I'll stop."

With a smile now stretching on my face, I pulled her in. "Doesn't matter, as long as you try." I kissed her forehead. "I love you, baby."

She narrowed her eyes and smiled. "I love you too."
