After exiting the Kingdom and entering back into the forest, not much was said by either person. They both knew their main goal, to find Bakugou's dragon, and they both knew they needed to concentrate if they were even going to come close to finding it. But there was one question that (y/n) couldn't seem to get out of her mind.

"Hey Bakugou... Tell me something... How did you even come across the dragon in the first place? I mean... You two just have a strong bond for him to be patiently waiting for you to return. Was it like... A friendship forged when you were little?" The curious (h/c) headed female asked.

Bakugou slowly shifted his gaze from the ground to (y/n)'s (e/c) eyes that looked into his with wonder. He could tell she was excited to hear the answer.

He sighed before lifting his head and moving his eyesight to straight in front of him. "I battled him a couple of years ago. I proved my worth. He deemed me as someone who could ride him and someone he could proudly be with because I earned it. I'm not the Dragon King for nothing..." His voice trailed off a little at the end.

(Y/n) was ecstatic to hear him talking about dragons but she managed to contain her excitement. "That must be pretty cool, beating a big ass dragon in a fight. And Dragon King? Did you mention that to me before?"

Bakugou chuckled. "Maybe I did, maybe I didn't. I don't keep track of that shit,"
(a/n: when you actually can't remember if you mentioned it before oops)

His comment made (y/n) let out a small laugh herself. The two continued to check for signs for Bakugou's dragon for quite a while. It was about 10 minutes later though that (y/n)'s eyes landed on Bakugou's gauze. It was slightly stained red, and so (y/n) decided it was probably a good idea to change it; even if it was no longer bleeding.

"Does it hurt?" (Y/n) asked, not looking at him.

"My wound? Nah. Got used to it fairly quickly," He admitted.

(Y/n) slowed to a stop as she unslung the bag from her shoulder and began to look for more gauze. "It's still a good idea to change your gauze. Don't want to risk an infection. Also, it's probably a good idea to clean the wound itself," She pointed out.

In all honesty, Bakugou had forgotten about the wound on his lower stomach. He didn't feel any pain, and he stopped paying attention to it at some point.

A couple seconds later, (y/n) was able to find the gauze and get it out of the bag. "You want to head back to the Kingdom or try and find a stream nearby?"

Bakugou looked at her before looking back in the direction they came from. "No," He eventually spoke, "Going back only means backtracking and wasting time and I'm not in the mood for that shit,"

(Y/n) slung the bag back over her shoulder. "Stream it is then,"

Finding a stream actually didn't take that long. They were able to find one within a couple of minutes.

Getting close to the water's edge, (y/n) sat down and gestured Bakugou down next to her. Once sitting, (y/n) carefully unwrapped his gauze. She wrapped the bloodied gauze around itself and put it aside. She then studied his cut for a little bit before cupping her hands in the water. Once she got the amount to her liking, she carefully brought it over to his cut; pouring a little bit on it at a time. Bakugou sucked in his breath and held it as the cold water came into contact with his skin.

"Sorry." (Y/n) uttered upon seeing his reaction. He didn't say anything, but he did nod his head to tell her he acknowledged her words.

"So what's your story?" (Y/n) asked as his cut was now cleaned. "I told you mine. You must have one if you fought a dragon and won." She chuckled.

Bakugou sighed. "I guess it's only fair." He thought to himself.

(Y/n) finished wrapping the gauze around his lower stomach before politely sitting back and listening.

"I pretty much had a normal childhood growing up. I was an energetic and rowdy child so I was outside pretty much whenever I could be. A couple months before I was 13 though, I came home from being out in the forest playing and exploring to the sight of my parents being forced to their knees.

"I didn't know what else to do so I just hid around a corner. I felt completely powerless and useless... I wanted to do something to help my parents but how much could a 13 year old do right?

"Anyways, as I was hiding, there was a man that was dressed differently from the others. He slowly walked towards my parents who were on their knees and being tightly restrained by four or five men. I didn't understand at the time why they didn't struggle or try to break free and escape. Growing up though, I understood that two people against whatever amount of those intruders there were wouldn't get them very far.

"But the leader... The leader walked up to them and started asking them questions in which I had no clue what the answers were. And neither did my parents. They kept on saying they didn't know what he was talking about or even why they were asking them those questions.

"Eventually the leader I guess got tired of them playing dumb and not giving him the answers he was looking for... So he killed them. I... I was there. I watched them get killed in front of my very eyes..." His eyes looked distant.

"And I don't know if it was out of anger or shock or fear but I screamed out and essentially revealed my hiding spot and where I was. The leader very quickly spotted me and he ordered his men to capture me, claiming there was supposed to be no witnesses. I tried running but I didn't get far before they practically tackled me down and tied me up.

"They took me back to this dingy and fucking awful smelling room in what I assumed was a castle. They made me kneel before their stupid King and they explained what happened. They then asked their King what he wanted done with me. He sat on his shitty throne in dead silence staring right at me for a solid minute before he said to send me to the execution block.

"I knew I was fucked but I didn't know what the hell to do. What was a 13 year old kid supposed to do in a situation like that? So I kind of just accepted my fate and let them take me. Skip forward a few minutes and I'm kneeled down at the block staring at this bloodied basket in front of me. This dude that was supposed to chop my head off raised his sword, but this loud ass roar interrupted him.

"Couple seconds later this giant ass dragon flies in and starts burning the shits to a crisp. With them all focused on the dragon I took the opportunity to escape and bolted. I ran and ran until my lungs were burning and my legs hurt like hell. I took refuge in this cave and that's where I stayed for several months, until the very same dragon came by and decided to pick a fight. Got my ass pretty good a few times, but I ended up winning.

"Beating him in that fight, he saw my worth and took me back to the land where he basically came from. It had a few more dragons but not too many. Long story short I soon beat them all in fights and they learned to respect me and saw me capable of being King."

(Y/n) sat in awe with her mouth slightly opened for a few seconds before realizing she was staring. She lightly blushed and looked away. "So these dragons really respect you. And you must really care for them," (y/n) said.

There was a few seconds of silence.

"Being with another person without your dragon for so long must feel pretty weird huh?" She smiled softly at him.

"I've gotten used to it," He thought.

"Yeah... It's definitely new," He eventually spoke.

They continued to sit in comfortable silence for a few more minutes, listening to the relaxing sound of the stream water running. Despite how loud and brash Bakugou can be, for once it actually felt serene to sit next to him like this. The Dragon King, capable of being quiet and calm.

"Alright. Let's go. We can't stay here forever. We need to get back to searching." Bakugou said as he stood up and dusted off his ass.

(Y/n) sighed before getting up herself. "Yeah... Sorry for distracting you..."

"It's alright," He said, barely loud enough for her to hear.

(Y/n) formed a miniscule smile on her face as she trailed closely behind him.

The next five minutes or so were spent in little talk. They mostly concentrated on finding signs and such for a dragon.

Until...

"Kacchan?"
