 Eryn's Mischievous Lie.

"Wait... what?" I incredulously replied in a hushed tone as I finally processed his words and thought them through. Me pregnant with Loki's baby? Thor looked apalled by my reaction, so I decided to explain. "I can lie. I'll do it, but what if he doesn't believe me or knows that I lied to him? Before you know it, the weeks will go by and I will still look the same...What if he asks for an ultra sound, what would I do then?"

"An ultra sound?" Thor asked puzzled.

Facepalm. Asgard doesn't have the same technology as Earth does. "You guys don't have any kind of test that verifies pregnancy?"

"We do." Thor replied thoughtfully and then got back on topic. "All you have to do is mention the suspicion of you being pregnant. Odin will call a doctor and this will give us time to think of something else."

"Just to get this clear. All I have to do is say that I think I'm pregnant, right?"

"Yes. And then you'll have a few more days until the doctor actually comes. It's as simple as that." Thor shrugged as if it was nothing.

I tried to not gape up at him. Instead, I took a deep breath. "As simple as that. Right...How exactly am I going to tell him?"

"You tell me. You're the one in love with the god of lies and mischief. I'm almost positive that his lying skills have rubbed off on you." Thor lightly teased, offering me a ressuring smile.

I couldn't help but smile at that. "Actually, I always was a talented liar."

"Wait...is that a lie or a truth?" Thor wondered.

           "You tell me."

**

When I walked into the throne room, Odin was in his typical spot, seated on the throne. Thor excused himself and then closed the door behind him, leaving only us two in the room. I didn't bow this time and Odin took note of that, scowling at me and I silently cursed myself. I didn't do it intentionally. I'm still not used to being in a place that follows monarchy. Democratic over here.

"I believe you know why I've called for you already." Odin stated.

"Yes, I do." I answered. It was going to take more than lying to stay here, it was going to take acting. I averted my gaze from him, bringing myself to tears as I wished that Frigga was here. I don't know her well, but her presence is always comforting.

"Thor has offered to escort you back to Earth and I want you to leave now before things get out of hand."

"Things have already gotten out of hand." I spoke quietly and slowly raised my gaze up at him. "What are you going to tell him when he awakes and asks for me?"

"That you left because you wanted to. Simple as that. No need to complicate matter even further." Odin simply replied, as if the answer were the most obvious one out there.

"So you're going to lie to your son...again?" I couldn't help but retort. Hasn't he learned his lesson from the last time? Odin shot me a silencing concern.

"That is not of your concern."

"If it involves Loki's well being, then yes it is of my concern." I replied softly, not wanting to push him too much to the edge. Although, I think I've already done it judging by the look on his face. And I haven't even told him about my so called 'pregnancy scare'...crap!

"We will not have this discussion at all." Odin exclaimed. "You will leave now. You've outstayed your welcome, Mortal."

"Please, give me more time. I don't mean to stay here long, but I need to tell Loki that I'm-" I forcefully stopped myself from saying anymore and averted my gaze from him once again. My heart beat sped up in anxiety. It's showtime.

"That you're what? " Odin impatiently replied, annoyed. He obviously wasn't fond over the idea of me stalling, but he sure does not know what's coming to him. "What could possibly be so important that you must tell Loki?"

"It is...He deserves to know." I mumbled, feigning to be uncomfortable. I shifted under Odin's heavy gaze. I don't think I'm pretending anymore. I really am uncomfortable right now.

"And I don't?" Odin demanded confused. He rose up on his feet, towering over me.

"You wouldn't take it lightly if I told you."

"Need I remind you that I am king and you are in my realm. And if you are keepi-"

"I think I may be p-pregnant with Loki's child." I said, actually struggling with the "P" word. My words sounded so foreign to me and I hoped that Odin would buy them at least. I couldn't even believe my own words or imagine what it would be like to actually be pregnant with Loki's child. I never thought of having kids nor do I want to, not to mention pretending to going to have one.

I willed myself to look at Odin. He was in shock, his face mixed with too many emotions. A few seconds passed, and the look of anger and disappointment was clearly shown on his face. "What do you mean you think?" He spat out.

"I-I-" I stuttered, trying to say a coherent sentence but terribly failing.

Odin sank down into his seat and stared at me. His stare turned into a glare and he raised his voice at me."How could you? How could you break tradition?...How could he defy me? If I hadn't exiled him to Earth like I did with Thor, he would've never met you! None of this would've ever happened. I don't know how you do things in your world, but from now on, you are doing things the way I say for the sake of your unborn child. That is if you are indeed carrying one. I will arrange for a doctor to see you within the next few days. If you are not pregnant, then you know what happens."

"You must tell no one about your suspicion. Do you hear me?" Odin continued, and then under his breath I heard him mutter,"such things like this would never happen under my house."

"Yes." I answered, mentally smiling. If only you knew Odin...

       "Leave."

 **

I exhaled in relief. I did it. I actually did it. I lied to Odin and he bought it. Oh my... I lied to Odin and he bought it!

Should I be proud or horrified? I wondered as I made my way back to the infirmary. The Nurse, whom I hadn't met before, was there. She was attending to Loki's wound while he was asleep. The door closed behind me on its own, and the nurse was startled by the sound. I sent her an apologetic smile and she returned to cleaning his wound. "How is he?"

Loki stirred and the Nurse lightly, pushed him back onto the bed.

"Not better, but not worse either." She replied.

"Alva, can you let us be alone?" Loki asked as his eyes opened and landed on me. Alva, the nurse, hesitantly nodded and looked at me.

"I'll take care of him." I assured, referring to finishing what Alva was doing. She left and my attention went back towards Loki. Using the cloth Alava had used, I finishing wiping the dry blood off of his body and reached for the bandage. Carefully, I slid the bandage under him and began to wrap it around his wound while he watched.

"I pulled a Loki just moments ago." I murmured.

        "You what?" He asked confused.

I smiled, realizing what I just said. He raised an eyebrow and I sighed dramatically. I was going to mess with him, only a little. "I told Odin that I'm pregnant."

Loki's eyes widened and his hand gripped my arm. He let out a groan, letting his hand drop to his abdomen in pain. I watched him carefully, wondering if I should continue messing with him or not. "You're what?"

"I had to tell him. I had no other choice. I-"

"Eryn!" Loki exclaimed in a hoarse voice, but I continued anyways.

"I'm sorry for not telling you first. I mean you are involved in it too. I was going to tell you about it first, actually, but-" I glanced at Loki's face and it took all of my will power not to burst into laughter at that moment. I honestly don't even know how to explain the look on his face. Surprised? Happy? Alarmed? Horrified? Maybe all four. "-then, I was like it's all a lie so it shouldn't even matter. So, yeah, I lied to Odin so I could stay here a while longer."

He released his grip on my arm and took a deep breath, calming himself down. I burst into laughter, not being able to hold it in anymore. "Your face!"

        "You're cruel."

I wiped a stray tear and sat down on the stool next to his bed. I grinned at him teasingly. "But you love me."

"But I love you." He confirmed, smiling. He began to chuckle, but it was soon replaced into strained coughs and his hand gripped his wound.  Loki's face contorted in pain, reminding me on just how fragile he is at the moment.

"Are you okay? Does it hurt?" I asked worried, taking his hand in mine so he wouldn't be picking at his wound and opening it up again. His hand squeezed mine tightly and then he relaxed back into the bed, his grip loosening.

"I'm fine." He whispered. I stared at him, but he seemed to ignore it. He was very keen on changing the subject. "How did he react?"

"He was mad. He couldn't believe that you have defied him yet again and that I would dare to break 'tradition'. But I'd get scolded at by Odin anyday if it meant getting to stay by your side." I replied smiling, carrassing his cheek.

"I'm afraid I've rubbed off on you." Loki said in a hoarse voice. His smile contrasted with the look in his eyes. He was in pain and I couldn't do anything to make it go away.

"Do you want me to get the Nurse? Maybe, she can give you some painkillers or something." I began to ramble off, sitting up from the stool beside his bed. Before I could leave, his hand was around my wrist.

        "No. Don't."

       "But you're in pain. I-"

       "Just stay with me. Please."

I didn't bother to argue any further. I couldn't. Not when he was almost begging for me to stay. I nodded and he let out a deep breath, dropping his hand back to his side. "Of course."

Loki shifted in his bed, moving more toward the side to make room for me. I stared at him dubiously. I didn't want him to be uncomfortable at a state like this. The bed may be big enough for the both of us, but shouldn't he want all the space he can have?

His eyes bore into mine, and without saying a word, I moved to lay next to him, carefully placing an arm around him. He wrapped his own arm around me, placing a kiss on my forehead.

                                                        "You're all I need."

A/N: Here's another not-so-new chapter. I'll probably posting a few more later on today. I'll let you guys know when I upload a chapter you guys haven't read yet!
