Sakura:
she woke up with an arm around her protectively holding her in his chest, smiling to herself she thought about the events of the past few months, so much in her life had changed, she was living in a mobboss' house for starters, she was being targeted by a clan of crazy powerful psychopaths called the Akatsuki, she was unsafe anywhere outside of the the Uchiha or Uzumaki clans protection, oh and turns out she is also the Haruno Heiress sooooo that was just wonderful for her
and yet, she was blissfully happy, her best friend was going to be a mother, obviously meaning Sakura would be her Godmother, she had made more friends in the past few months here than she ever had before, she was still able to practice her medical work and get paid higher rates (not that she needed it) and there was Sasuke...
Biting her lip she turned to look at the sleeping Uchiha, he looked so innocent, so calm, no trace of stress hidden in his eyes, she doubted he had, had the opportunity to sleep in for such a long time, his breathing was even and slow, she noticed his bare chest against her, blushing again she realized how small she was in his arms, his strong muscular body against her smaller frame, they fit together perfectly, like one beautiful puzzle.
Tracing his jaw with her fingers, touch light as a feather she thought back to the conversation they had, had that night, discussing their pasts, the highs and the lows, the good and the bad, everything seemed to natural, this was the first time she could see herself with someone ,
did Sasuke feel that way too? she wondered scrunching her eye brows together
"What are you thinking about blossom?" a tiredly husky voice asked
biting her lip she stared into the obsidian abyss, her breath caught in her throat, this man in front of her was definitely something else,
"just how loudly you snore" she responded with a giggle earning a pout from Sasuke
he always had to act to strong and reserved when in front of the clan she enjoyed seeing his more intimate side, where he could let loose and relax with her.
"Blossom I have to go" he said pulling her in for another kiss
"Or you could stay with me" she said breaking the kiss smiling
"hnn, I could stay with you forever blossom"
kissing her again he stood up put his shirt back on and headed towards the door
"I will see you at the BBQ tonight"
and with that he was gone, leaving her content in bed, watching her mafia boss walk out.
- LATER -
"INO PIG STOP CRYING!"
Sakura stared at her best friend who sobbed in front of her
" I AM GOING TO BE A MOM, AND I AM ANNOUNCING IT TONIGHT! SO MUCH WILL CHANGE"
"Ino, you're practically announcing it right now! stop yelling!" Sakura jokingly scolded her teary eyed friend
"Yeah yeah yeah, I know, now lets get ready!"
Sakura watched as Ino strutted into her closet pulling out various outfits, Sakura followed her and soon they picked each others clothes out,
Sakura dressed Ino in a cute little light green short, off shoulder sundress paired with , helped curl her hair and put on her make up, Ino picked out a denim skirt with a white wrap around crop top paired with white sneakers, she tied her long hair back in a high pony tail and allowed Ino to do her make up,
soon the two were ready, looking at themselves in the mirror they admired each others handiwork,
"we are gonna break some hearts tonight" Ino announced proudly
"Ino-Pig, you are literally going to tell the man of your dreams that you're pregnant with his child, no breaking hearts tonight" Sakura laughed at her friend
"Boo you, you're no fun Billboard brow" Ino pouted
"Alright lets go heartbreaker" Sakura said linking arms with Ino heading towards the door
She was excited, for once things were looking up.
Opening the door to the enormous resort *cough* Sorry back yard, Sakura and Ino were greeted by Temari and Shikamaru hand in hand, "Hey Ino, Sakura!" Temari yelled hugging the two, Shikamaru nodded at her a small smile playing on his lips, he seemed to be laughing at his girlfriends excitement, "Cmon, everyone is here!" Temari said pulling their arms
in the distance Sakura saw him, he sat casually laughing with Naruto, he wore black jeans a gray V neck shirt and his leather jacket, he looked hot,
"mm babe you're drooling" Ino said interrupting her thoughts
"I AM NOT DROOLING OVER HIM"
"You said it not me" she winked and walked away, turned and said "go get him Saku" and carried on walking to where Sai stood waiting.
Left with her mouth hanging at her best friends words she decided why not? And headed over towards Sasuke they met eyes, and he sat there cockily expecting her to come to him, little did he know two can play that game, and so she sat folded her leg over and flipped her hair over her shoulder, now it was a game of stubbornness, who would win?
Smirking to herself she noticed the frown taking over Uchiha's face, she sat and waited, she was winning. Her little self praising was cut short when a red haired woman who looked about Sakura's age came and sat down next to her,
"Hi nice to meet you I am Karin, you must be Sakura the doctor who saved Sasuke" she said extending her hand
Sakura got the feeling this conversation was not going to remain as civil as Karin appeared, extending out her hand she smiled smoothly
"That's correct, I am Sakura, nice to meet you Karin"
"Now that we have the niceties over and done with, let me get to the point, you are putting everyone here in danger and Sasuke just feels bad for you because his uncle killed your father, he feels responsible, so if I were you I would leave, leave Sasuke, he is far better off with out you"
shocked Sakura sat there processing what she was saying, the words stung, likely because she had been thinking them herself, but the way this woman acted, it sounded like she cared less for the safety of the people here and more for Sasuke and his lack of relationship with her,
smiling she looked at Karin
"Thank you honey, was nice meeting you I am going to go see Sasuke now"
"Sakura"
"..."
"you really should leave, it's not safe for you here either"
her expression had changed, this time it looked like she was pleading, what did this woman know? She couldn't decipher it was this woman warning her?
Karin stood up and headed off in a different direction, she seemed determined.
Brushing it off she headed to go find Sasuke who had moved from his previous spot, walking inside she decided she needed a drink,
on her way there she heard muffled voices,
"Sasuke for God's sake! If you keep her here you are putting everyone at risk! What is going on!"
"Karin, I have it under control"
so Sasuke was talking to that red haired woman from earlier...
"UNDER CONTROL? SHES STILL HERE HOW IS IT UNDER CONTROL? SHE WILL BRING THE AKATSUKI RIGHT TO US! ESPECIALLY IF SHE GETS CLOSE TO YOU!"
"Exactly"
"y-you mean she's bait?"
"Hn"
Sakura heard enough, she had told him all her dark history, she trusted him and he was using her as bait for his psychotic revenge trip, this was BS and she was done, loudly entering the kitchen where the two stood she grabbed a glass filled it up with water and left,
she felt his eyes on her but she couldn't find the will to care, she was going to stay for Ino's baby announcement and then she was gone!
Walking back outside she closed her eyes to calm herself, she didn't need anyone, she had taken care of herself for years, this little adventure was simply a pretty fantasy, so she put her smile back on and walked to her best friend who stood giggling at something Sai had said.
"Billboard brow how'd the man hunting go babe!"
"Ino"
"? that bad"
Sakura looked at her friend
"Oh Saku, come on lets talk about it, hold on lets go inside and talk"
Ino took her hand and called to Sai
"We will be back baby, just going to talk about girly stuff!" blowing a kiss she turned and pulled Sakura towards the house
where they bumped into none other than Asshole douche bag Uchiha himself,
"Sakura..."
"Uchiha" she smiled sarcastically
"Come to use me as bait babe?"
"Sakura, you look cold" was his reply, it pissed her off in truth she was cold, her arms had gotten goosebumps and she was beginning to shiver but this asshole wasn't getting the satisfaction of being right!
"I'm fine" she shivered
"Liar"
"takes one to know one"
"just take my jacket"
"no" but alas his jacket was placed around her shoulders, the enticing scent threatened to break her stubborn ways and made her want to run to him, quickly pulling herself out of the trance she carried on inside pushing past him.
Ino raised her eye brow at Sakura and Sakura just shook her head 'not now' she implied
Ino nodded and carried on, the found a empty unlocked spare room and walked inside
"Saku what happened? What did you mean 'bait'"
Sakura explained what she had heard, with tears threatening to fall she hugged her friend, who let her speak while quietly listening,
"I am sorry, it's supposed to be an exciting night for you I am ruining it"
"oh shut up Billboard brow, its no biggie you aren't ruining anything, this is the first time i've seen you get worked up about a male! Anndddd you just admitted to having him in your room last night" she winked
Sakura deadpanned, then laughed "I guess I did"
suddenly the girls heard footsteps, then voices,
"Wheres Haruno" a deep unrecognizable voice asked
"She is somewhere in the building kill anyone quickly and quietly who gets in our way, Uchiha and Uzumaki is outside"
Sakura looked to Ino who instinctively placed her hands on her stomach protectively, Sakura knew her friend had to be kept safe and the two couldn't be together if she wanted to give her a chance,
"Ino, get in the closet, don't make a sound" she whispered calmly
"Sakura... What about you I am not leaving you!"
"Ino, you are protecting you and that baby" Sakura said gesturing to Ino's stomach
"Now get in the closet and be quiet, I promise everything will be okay"
Ino hesitantly obeyed, in truth Sakura had no idea if anything would be okay but she knew she had to protect Ino
so she set out to quietly sneak out the door and go alert Sasuke,
peering out the door she looked around, seeing no sign of intruders she took a few silent steps when a hand grabbed her mouth and pulled her back, throwing her into the room she had just left,
turning she faced a group of 8 men, broad shoulders, tall and all wearing matching masks
"Akatsuki" she thought outloud
"Oh how clever darling, you know of us!"
"What do you want from me?"
The man with blond hair tied back in a ponytail pulled his mask off "Oh you know, just some assistance! A few minor details here and there, but ultimately we need you to come with us quietly!" he smirked evilly
"And if I refuse"
"Simple, we kill your friend hiding in the closet and her baby, then force you to come. Rather messy if you ask me" he said gesturing to the closet where Ino hid,
Sakura paled, she had to think of something quick
"Come on hon, we don't have all day, decide"
Suddenly one of the other masked men pulled the closet open revealing a terrified Ino, she glanced at Sakura almost asking what she should do,
when the man threw her into the wall
"STOP!" Sakura yelled
"So that means you will come with us?" the blond said with fake politeness
"I-I"
the man picked up Ino by the neck this time, Ino was loosing consciousness her eyes rolling into the back of her head as she struggled to breathe
"STOP STOP I WILL COME I SWEAR PLEASE LET HER GO, I WILL DO ANYTHING, DON'T HURT HER!!!" Sakura screamed desperately with tears running down her face
The blond nodded to the man holding Ino who dropped her limp body onto the floor
Sakura ran to her friend, apologizing to her "I am so sorry Ino, please forgive me this is all my fault" checking for a pulse she was relieved when she found a small but sure pulse, Ino was going to be okay... For now, Sakura stroked Ino's hair while tears fell down her eyes, she prayed for a miracle, anything to happen,
when she felt a hand go over her face with a white cloth smelling of strong chemicals, she tried to hold her breath, maybe if she pretended to pass out then she could try get away or at least warn the others while leaving, that plan would have worked out great if the man didn't punch her in the stomach so hard it caused her to gasp and see stars,
soon everything began to fade, she felt arms roughly pulling her up as she drowsily watched unable to do or say anything to stop them,
"Do we kill the blonde one?"
she heard them say, she wanted to yell out in protest, scream, move anything, but she couldn't
"No, Madara wanted Uchiha to know we took Haruno from under his nose, just to rub in his face his inferiority"
'at least Ino will be okay' she thought as her mind threatened to slip in and out of consciousness, her vision was getting even more blurry, each second that passed felt like a million years, each breath she took felt like shattered glass falling into her lungs, the men were picking her up, she groggily tried to move,
"Haruno is still awake, might take a little more to knock her out"
when a fist came to her head she felt a sharp pain ripple through her head and saw nothing
only darkness,
where was Sasuke when she needed him?
