Sombra's POV:

He was late. Again. Not that that was uncharacteristic of Kai at all.

Doomfist was getting impatient. Unlike me, he wasn't as aware of Kai's tendency to arrive like an hour late. I watched with amusement as he paced back and forth, clenching and unclenching his fists.

I tapped his shoulder, causing him to spin around almost angrily. "What?!"

"Smile, would you?"

"Now's not the time, Sombra. Are you sure you sent him the right address?"

"I did," I checked the phone I used to send it to him. "It says he read it. He'll be here, don't worry."

Moira twitched from the corner she was hiding in. She crossed her arms, eyeing me with her signature monotonous expression. "We should just leave him in Hanamura. That'll teach him some respect."

I leaned against the wall again, stretching out. "I'm not against that at all, you know. Actually, this is actually you guys' fault for not putting me in charge of recon. Did you know he killed (y/n)'s mom?"

"We know," Moira sighed. "He's reckless."

Before I could respond, I felt a hand grab my arm harshly. I was standing right at the corner of the alleyway, so whoever had just grabbed me was able to do so with ease.

I gasped as the person pulled me towards them. It only took them a few seconds to place something cold and sharp against my throat. Whoever this was wasn't some amateur. The blade wasn't trembling at all. It was eerily steady.

I was placed in an unbreakable hold facing away from the person, and I didn't even bother trying to fight. I knew by the strength demonstrated in their arms that that would be pointless.

Moira and Doomfist realized what had just happened, and stepped forward with concern. The person pressed the knife into my skin a little more. "Not another step or she dies," they warned lowly.

It was a female voice. I had watched her family long enough to know who it was.

I couldn't help but laugh. I knew she would catch on eventually. It bubbled up in my throat, actually pressed the knife further into my skin, but that was fine with me. Sharp things didn't scare me.

"You are..." Moira began.

"(Y/n) (L/n)," Doomfist finished with certainty.

The fact that we knew her identity didn't faze her at all. Her breath tickled my ear as she told them, quite forcefully, "Weapons out in front of you. Now."

"You're in over your head, amiga," I chuckled. "Let's just talk."

"We're not talking!" she screamed. Her voice carried over into the night, echoing all throughout the neighborhood we were near. It was a wonder that no one heard us.

"I take it you've killed Kai by now, huh?" I asked. "Never liked him. Don't blame you, honestly."

She leaned closer to me. "I'm going to kill you," she whispered in my ear.

"My, my... so hostile..."

(Y/n) didn't seem to notice that I had been reaching for the trans locator in my pocket while she had the knife to my neck. I nodded as if pretending to understand her threat, but threw the device in Moira and Doomfist's direction.

It clattered in between them, spinning into a forceful stop.

She seemed confused. I clicked the button attached to my sleeve, and trans located away from her hold. She stumbled as I disappeared, eyes widening in surprise.

As I reappeared by Moira's side, I huffed, lightly dusting my clothes off. "Like I said. I just want to talk."

(Y/n) threw a knife towards my head with astonishing speed and accuracy. I moved out of the way just in time, but it whizzed right passed me, cutting my ear in the process.

I reached up and felt a little bit of blood trickling down. I inspected the red liquid, and only shook my head in disappointment at myself for not being able to move out of the way fast enough.

"What a foolish little girl," Doomfist hissed. His metallic fist glowed as he powered it up from the inside, breathing heavily to charge an attack. In the meantime, he ran at her with his normal one raised, ready to hit her.

(Y/n) moved out of the way of Doomfist's normal fist, reaching upwards with another knife and sticking his arm with it with all her might. Her cried out in irritation and pain, but his metallic fist had charged up enough to swing at her once again with that hand.

His fist whirred with power. One hit, and she would be out for sure.

But she was so fast. She dodged for a second time, her body flying with impossible deftness springing above his fist, jabbing a knife in a crevice of the metallic hand as she did so. It was enough to cause it to break down in a fit of igniting sparks.

I was impressed. She really was a smart girl.

Doomfist smacked his metallic hand, trying to get it to start working again. He hadn't even noticed that (y/n) had managed to get behind him in the process.

Just as she was about to stab the shocked Doomfist's exposed back, the device on Moira's wrist activated, a stream of deadly purple shooting out onto (Y/n)'s body. It surrounded her, causing her to drop the glilnting knife and cry out in pain.

"Enough of this," Moira said calmly. She was sucking the life force out of the girl. The sound was excruciatingly uncomfortable and mystic-like.

It almost wasn't fair. She had won against Doomfist fair and square.

I watched with pity in my eyes as she cradled her head, falling onto her knees on the pavement beneath her. She was shaking as the purple stream stripped her of her strength. I flinched, as I almost felt the pain myself.

Moira stopped the device, leaving a weak and battered version of the girl who had been so fierce just a moment ago on the ground.

"Why did you stop?" Doomfist grunted. "Go on. Finish her."

I looked at Moira expectantly, but she only tilted her head a little, staring down at (y/n), who was backing up against the wall of the alley, gasping for breath. "Wait. Let me think."

"Think? You're full of nonsense. I will kill her if you can't stomach it."

Moira raised a hand as he turned around to stop him.

"Don't. Let me explain. Wouldn't it be better to get something out of tonight rather than walking out of here empty-handed?"

Moira grinned, her eyes narrowing slightly as she examined (y/n). The girl coughed, an arm around her torso as she tried to recover. She was completely clueless as to what we discussing.

Doomfist approached the two of us, anger apparent in his eyes. "What will we get out of letting her live?"

"Not just letting her live. Taking her with us."

I chuckled. "Are you kidding? How's a prisoner going to do us any good?"

"You idiots aren't looking at the bigger picture. Kai is dead. We are down one member. You know what I see in front of me? A weapon. A better one. She's smart. She can fight. She will be perfect for Talon."

I frowned. "You're not thinking of..."

"Oh yes, I am."

Moira walked towards the girl with huge strides, never taking her eyes off of her. (Y/n) looked up at Moira, her eyes filled with unspeakable hate. But also... unspeakable pain.

Her mind was vulnerable; scattered. The perfect subject for Moira's questionable science experiments.

"How would you like for all the pain to go away?" Moira asked her, her voice dripping with excitement.

"W-what are you talking about?" she responded, her voice unable to go above a dull whisper. She recoiled once again, coughing uncontrollably.

"You're a sad sight. You've lost everything. You're hurting. But I have hope for you yet. I can make it all go away. Every emotion. Every feeling. Every memory."

"Then make it go away," she begged.

I'm sure that (y/n) though Moira was talking about death. Not the much more cruel option that Moira was thinking of. And yet, this answer seemed to satisfy her.

"Hm."

Moira sucked the last bit of strength out of her with the device, causing her to slip into unconsciousness. Her limp body fell to the side, knives in her belt clattering to the floor.

The three of us stared at her body for a moment. "She will never hear the name (y/n) again, do you two understand? From tonight onward, she is..." Moira glanced at the knives surrounding her. "Sal. Short for saltator, which is 'dancer' in Latin."

Moira gestured for Doomfist. "Carry her. Sombra, start up the aircraft. I'm sure the others will be quite delighted to see what we bring back."

"You're going to do to her what you did to Amelie, huh?" I asked.

Moira nodded.

I watched as Doomfist lifted the girl with ease, tossing her over his shoulder. It was true what Moira said, about the kind of pain she'd been through. All the things she had lost.

But I couldn't help but think that it was better for (y/n) to die than go through what she was about to go through. After watching Amelie become Widowmaker, I knew that I didn't want to see the same thing happen to someone else.

I felt bad for her. I really did. But what could I do about it? I had no real say in how Talon was run. And I was certainly not some kind of hero.

So I tore my eyes away from her unconscious form and headed the other direction to get the aircraft started. It had certainly been one dark night.

(Y/n) (L/n). How I pity you.

A/N: Pretty short chapter, but there you have it, my lovelies! The support and love I'm receiving is crY WorTHY, I'm not even joking, thank you very much.

Also, what are yall thinkin bout the new hero, Wrecking Ball? I think it's a bit of a peculiarity; I mean like I was laughing my ass off while watching the developer update. But hey, he's cute so I can't complain a whole bunch!

See you guys in the next update. Love you.
