*Hey guys! I just wanted to leave a quick note to please comment and vote! I am far more inspired when I see comments, I always read each of them. Thanks, and enjoy the story! :)

                                           ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My back slammed against the wall, as I felt Jace’s lips move from my own down to the crook of my neck. I exhaled loudly, as I gripped his hair tightly. His kisses were intoxicating; as he pressed his once more back on mine.
 I pulled away for a second, staring into his passion-filled eyes.
What’s wrong?” He questioned, his voice sounding husky. I took a deep breath, as I shook my head.
I licked my lips. “Nothing, I just…you’re so different than I thought you would be. I had this idea of you in my mind, but you don’t match it at all. You’re a puzzle to me, and I can’t quite piece you together yet.”
A sexy smirk surfaced on his flawless features, as he pulled me into him. “There’s a lot you don’t know about me.” He murmured, and with that he leaned forward and kissed me once more.
This one was filled with a kind of lust I had never experienced. I knew he wanted me. Badly.
My knees literally went weak. Seriously.
His strong arms wrapped around me, as I felt him lift me up. My legs instinctively wrapped around his waist, as I felt myself melting into him. I felt my back land on something soft, as I realized he laid me down on the bed.
His chiseled body was on top of my own, as I gazed up at him. Normally if an insanely attractive man was straddling me, I’d blush. But this felt right.
I know it’s weird to say, but Jace is so beautiful. Like insanely so. It was like he was perfectly sculpted or something. I don’t know how, or why, but I have this burning feeling inside me. I need him. Now.
“Take off your pants.” I breathed, as his touch still lingered on my skin. He raised an eyebrow as I said this. I rolled my eyes. “I want you to take off your pants. I want you…right now.” I repeated myself slowly.
God I can’t believe I was saying this, but for some reason I’m not embarrassed. I felt ready.
His dark eyes glistened with intensity, as he reached out his hand, slowly tracing his fingertips across my collarbone. Pleasant shivers shot down my spine at his touch. As he did so, I could feel my breathing get shallow. Carefully his hand dropped down to my arm, where he took my hand in his.
In pure fascination, I watched as he brought my own hand up to his lips, gently kissing my fingers. “You’re gorgeous, Melinda. You truly are.”
Okay, that made me blush. “Jace…please…I want you. Kiss me.” I nearly begged, as a deep desire overcame me. “I don’t know why, but I’m drawn to you. Like I’ve never been drawn to anyone in my life. You’ve done a lot of bad things, and I know this. You’re dangerous, and are capable of anything. But when I’m with you, I can see that there is good inside you. You make me feel alive.” I could tell he was touched by my speech.
I took a deep breath once more. “So will you just stop talking and please take off your pants?” I know that may sound extremely slutty, but in this moment I didn’t care. It felt so right, and I was sure about it.
I wasn’t second guessing myself, and this is all I wanted.
His eyes looked strange, like there was a hunger inside them. I stared deeply at him as reached down and grasped the fabric of the towel. I could tell he was debating on what to do next. Without a second thought I sat up, grasping his shirt and slipping it over his head.
Oh my god. His body was…wow. His shoulders were broad and his chest toned. There was a tattoo wrapped around his bicep, a unique pattern. I pressed the palms of my hands against his smooth chest, slowly leaning forward and planting a delicate kiss upon it. “It’s your turn now, Jace. I want you too. Please.
“Melinda I want you so badly, it’s just…” Before he could finish his sentence, there came a loud knocking at the door, and I nearly screamed from being startled.
“Sir, are you in there? We have an emergency.” A familiar voice stated urgently. Where have I heard him before?
Jace looked down at me once more, and groaned as he leaned down and kissed me quickly. “I’m sorry Melinda.” He said, just as the door was thrust open.
My eyes widened when I recognized who it was. “Damon?!” I exclaimed. Jace’s eyes widened in surprise. “You fucking asshole, you bit me!” I could feel the anger radiate from Jace.
“You did what?” Jace asked, his voice sounding chillingly calm.
Damon, A.K.A the guy who stalked me at that party I went to and then attacked me in my room, look scared shitless. “Sir I didn’t, it was just a misunderstanding I…” He nearly stuttered.
Jace didn’t let him finish. “You touched Melinda? When I only told you to watch her and report back to me? You defied orders and endangered someone extremely important to me? Is that the misunderstanding?”
Oh my god, Jace is about to kill him. Literally.
I quickly stepped in. “Jace its fine, Caleb took care of him. He’s not worth it, really.” I said, as I glared at Damon. Jace still seemed edgy, as he swiftly stood up. Extending his hand out, he pulled me to my feet.
Damon’s eyes lingered on me, which is when I remembered that I only had a towel on. Jace must have sensed this too, because I could see his eyes flicker a dark color once more. He stepped in front of me a bit. “What is the emergency?” He nearly growled.
Damon swallowed hard, and for once he didn’t look so big and bad. “A vampire has been killed by a hunter. People in the kingdom are beginning to up rise, and it’s getting out of hand. We need your input, sir.”
My eyes widened a bit, as he said this. There are vampire hunters?
Jace exhaled loudly. Slowly he nodded. “I see. Go to my office, I will be in their shortly.” He said finally.
Damon lingered for a moment. “But sir it is very…”
I said go to my office.” He all but hissed. That seemed to do the trick. Hurriedly he left, never glancing behind.
I gazed at Jace, concern in my eyes. “Are you alright? It sounds important.” I murmured, as I reached out my hand and held onto his.
He shrugged a bit, as he brought my hand up and kissed it. “I’m sorry we were interrupted, I hope you can forgive me.”
I let out a small laugh. “Yeah, I’m really mad at you right now.” I teased, as he smiled slightly. Leaning forward, he kissed me. It was just enough to make my head go fuzzy.
“I’ll come and see you when I can. Please don’t go wandering off, this rebellion is getting worse than I first anticipated. This is the third vampire killed this month. I have to get a handle on this…somehow.”
I frowned. “You’ll figure it out, I know it.”
He chuckled a bit. “I appreciate your confidence, but I’m not so sure. This is getting to be out of hand. I have to go, but feel free to move about and enjoy the rest of your evening.” Jace said, as left the room.
I let out a sigh, recalling everything that happened. It all seemed too quick. I don’t know why or how, but I was so drawn to him. And…oh my god. “Take off your pants? I am such a slut.” I muttered to myself. “What was I thinking? Now he probably thinks I’m easy. But I am not! God I’m an idiot.”
Shaking my head, I decided now would be a good time to put on some clothes. Moving towards my drawer, I grabbed a t-shirt and slipped on some yoga pants. A thought suddenly hit me.
Standing up, I headed for my door, and then out into the hallway. I moved from room to room, searching for a telephone. As I was about to give up, I arrived in what I assumed was a study, and I grinned. A phone! I ran towards the desk, snatching it up.
I crossed my fingers, hoping for a dial tone. There was one. “Yes!” I squealed with delight, as I dialed the number. Sitting in the chair, I waited for an answer. Come on, come on.
“Hello?” The female voice answered. Pure happiness engulfed me.
“Gwen!” I exclaimed, smiling happily at the sound of her voice.
There was a pause. “Melinda?” She replied, in disbelief. “Is that you?”
“It’s me! Oh Gwen it’s so good to talk to you!”
I could hear shuffling. “Melinda, where the hell are you?! You’re parents are going crazy looking for you. We thought that killer kidnapped you, or worse! Do you have any idea the worry you caused me and everyone else?”
Wow. I probably should have expected that. I have been gone for nearly a month. “Gwen I’m okay. And I’m so sorry I didn’t tell you where I was going. I’m fine, I promise. I uh…had to take care of some things.”
There was silence for a second. “I am so pissed at you. I thought…I thought you were dead. My best friend disappeared without saying a word to me. What am I suppose to think?” I could hear the emotion in her voice.
I felt a lump form in my throat. I searched for something to say. “Gwen I am so sorry. That wasn’t right. I um, I had to do this though.”
“Do what, Mel?”
I swallowed hard. “I was adopted. I found that out, and now I’m searching for real clues on who my birth parents were. Who I am. And I know I shouldn’t have up and left, but this is something I have to do.”
“You were adopted? How did you find out?” She asked in shock.
I paused. “That’s not important. What is important is that this is something I have to do. For myself. And I hope you can forgive me, that was a really shitty thing I did.”
Silence formed between us once more, until she finally spoke. “You’re right, it was. But…I get it. And, it’s okay. I’m just so glad you’re alright.” I smiled into the phone. “But don’t you ever do that again, or I will kick your ass! You hear me Melinda?”
I laughed a little. “Yes, ma’m.”
“Good! Because all kinds of weird shit is going on.” I raised an eyebrow.
“Oh, like what?”
“Well, first you disappear. Then Mr. Turner suspiciously resigns from the school, which I am so bummed about. We have this really old guy as a substitute, and we smells like cologne and muscle relaxing cream and…”
“Gwen! Focus!” I said with a giggle.
“Oh, right. Sorry." I knew she was grinning. "And about a couple weeks ago Cameron left. Like, completely. I don’t know why. It’s all so strange.”
I stopped her. “Wait, Cameron left? Where did he go?”
She sighed. “I have no clue, but word on the street, and by street I mean girl’s locker room, is that he joined a gang.”
At this I had to laugh. “A gang? Come on, be serious. Cameron is all bark, and no bite. He’d never join a gang.”
“Well, he fell in with a tough group. I saw them at a party once, and they looked like they were searching for someone. Cameron’s different. Almost more…violent.”
I raised my eyebrows. “That’s odd. He just up and left. But you know, life’s been pretty crazy lately, I’d believe anything.”
Gwen exhaled loudly. “I’m glad you called, Mel. Please call me again soon.”
I smiled, as tears stung the corners of my eyes. Man I missed her. As I was about to speak, the door opened and Jace walked in. “Melinda, there you are.” His gaze dropped to the phone in my hand. Shit.
“I will Gwen; I’ll talk to you soon. Bye.” As I set the phone down, I prepared to get in trouble. “Look I had to call her, she’s my best friend. And no I didn’t say anything, I just told her I was looking for my birth parents, and that I was adopted. I don’t want you to be mad at me, I just…”
In the blink of an eye he was in front of me. “Melinda stop, it’s fine. I understand, and I’m glad you could talk to someone from home.”
I let out a sigh of relief. “Okay good, because I thought you were going to get upset at me.”
He smiled a little, but I could tell he was worried. “I hate to interrupt you, but we have captured one of the hunters who killed the vampire.” I raised my eyebrows. “And…he says he knows you.”
I looked at Jace in confusion. “What? That’s not possible. I don’t know anybody here. Besides you, Caleb, and Nick that is.”
Jace shook his head. “Well, apparently he knows you. And he’s been asking for you. Won’t tell us a damn thing until he sees you.” He added harshly.
I was so confused, as I nodded my head slowly. “Okay…I’ll see him. But I honestly think there’s some kind of mistake. There has to be.”
Jace outstretched his arm, which I linked in my own. He led me down the corridors, and to the chambers where I had seen him kill the newborn vampire. I don’t think I want to be down here again. Or ever for that matter.
“This way Melinda, and…I’m sorry that you have to do this. I know this isn’t your favorite place.” He added almost remorsefully. I shivered a tad, as we rounded the corner.
As we neared the spot, I could hear men talking, and muffled voices. “Tell us where the others are, and we may consider killing you short and sweet. Remain quiet, and you will feel pain like you never have before.”
I heard a deep chuckle in response. “I do not fear you; they will come for me. You will lose, leeches.” I froze. I would know that voice from anywhere.
Jace gazed down at me. “Are you alright?” He asked, concerned.
Hurriedly I glanced around the corner, as my eyes nearly bugged out of their sockets when I confirmed who it was. “Cameron?!
