The War Room
I walked behind the Overseer,
My head was held high,
But all I wanted to do was run,
But I didn't know to where,
Let's Get Started
His words echoed through me,
And I had no idea,
What it was he meant,
Who we were fighting,
Or even where,
I fit into everything,
So I walked,
And I did so quietly,
And quickly,
We zig-zaged through the halls,
Then down we went,
Down the stairs,
And finally it felt like we were reaching the guts of this place,
When we stopped,
He stood outside a doorway,
And turned to me,
"I want you to be prepared for what lies beyond this door,
Because once you're in,
Coming back out the same way,
Is impossible,
Is that a risk your willing to take?"
I want to shake my head no,
But I see my parent's face flash,
And I can't,
So I nod,
And he smiles,
And pushes open the heavy door,
On the other side,
It all almost takes my breath away,
There are computers as far as I can see,
And I'm amazed by everything,
The amount of people,
The depth,
Everything,
And then his voice,
Shocks me down back to reality,
"Welcome to The War Room.
Here we are planning out our attack,
On the enemy,
Almost on command,
The screen changes,
And there are these things,
On The Screen,
The bodies of people,
The heads of dogs
Arms like a gorilla,
And The bottom half like a horse,
I stare,
And try to stop myself from laughing,
But I can't,
Everyone turns slowly to stare at me,
I paused,
"Are those real?"
They nod,
"What the hell are they?"
We call them Calatars
And to fight them,
You have to know about them,
Sit down,
Because you have a lot to learn,
