Justin's POV
Sitting on the couch. Only thinking about what's ahead of me. It's too much to handle. The hair on my arms rise. The wars, guns, blood, screams, and violence. I feel my body start to shake.
I put my hands on my head. Stop, I say to myself. only thinking of it won't do anything. I call Nicole.
Again.
My fingers tap on the table.
My heart pounds rapidly.
1,2,3,4,5 I start counting.
-
" Hello?"
Nicole's POV
"Hello?" Justin's voice rings through my phone.
"Yes, Justin?"
"How much longer until you are going to be home?" I know he's trying to be brave. I can tell.
"I don't know, downtowns backed up really bad."
" I knew it, I knew it, I knew it. you should have skipped work."
" That's not the point, the point is that I need to get home."
"Alright, please come home fast, it starts in a hour."
"ok, love you, bye."
"Bye baby."
-
Oh god, why.
-
Justin's POV
I gotta do something to get this off my mind.
I decide to get the house ready. Stock up.
"Listen, this year is estimated to be at least ten times more dangerous." said the news reporter.
"Oh god," I said. "Why,"
-
45 mins later.
-
"Justin."
"Yeah,"
"I'm stuck"
"What do you mean?"
"I'm not gonna make it home in time."
