I'm really sorry for not updating but I got so busy with work and I've been thinking, I will continued this story for a bit more. hope you guys will not get bored reading it. thank you again.
Magnus entered the room and he saw Alec on bed with tube connected from his throat. There were wires everywhere on his body. Theres tubing of drips multiples colors hanging by his bedside. There were clear, yellow, red for the blood and purple. They wont allow Magnus to go in without any protective equipment. So he have to wear the gown and the mask. He doesn't know where to touch Alec cause his body is all covered with wires and tubings. He held Alec's left wrist and he felt coldness in his skin. Alec's nails are all pale and blue and so was his lips. He barely could see his lips cause of the tubes and the tie around it but he could see how dry it was. Alec's eyes were sunken and his tummy is not as big anymore but its still bulging. The monitor were making sounds as regular as his heartbeat. He leaned in and kiss Alec on his forehead and whispered in his ears. "Stay with me Alexander. I know you are strong. I love you so much." He end it with another kiss on his temple and he sat on the chair by his side. Magnus held Alec's hand all night and he refused to see the twins. No matter how many times Izzy and Jace asked him he still ignores them and continued stay by Alec's side.
Couple of days past and Alec still on monitors. Apparently he passed the critical stages but there were times where his heart stopped and they managed to bring him back. Magnus haven't once saw the twins and they started being angry at him. He was waiting outside of Alec's room when Maryse came to him. "Magnus the twins can be discharged today. Are you gonna bring them home?" She asked but Magnus just turned on his heels and left but was stopped by Jace. He pulled his collar and pressed him to the wall hitting his back. "You bastard! Alec is suffered enough but don't let my niece and my nephew suffered too. They need their father and you haven't seen them once since they were born. They were crying all night for someone to pick up and comfort them. What they did to deserve a father like you!" Magnus looked at Jace with tears in his eyes. "They took my Alexander. I wont see them until Alec woke up." Jace couldn't believe what he heard, he got so furious hearing Magnus being so selfish so he punched him on the stomach making him gasped and kneeled on the floor. "Alec suffered all his life not having a loving father to guide him, but I wont let his kids suffered the same. Now you either be a father you promised Alec to be or you wont see him again. I will asked them to restrained you from seeing him. You shall never see Alec till you carries you duty as a father!" Magnus looked up and he leaned back on the wall crying. His sobbed his guilt away and Maryse kneeled besides him rubbing his back. She knew how broken Magnus were and she can't blame it on him. "I can't see them. All I could think about is Alec. When I see them, I see Alec. They have Alec's eyes. His hair, his nose and even his lips. I cant stand being in the same room without worrying about Alec." Magnus looked at Maryse and she hugged him. "That's not true. You know what I saw? I saw your smile in them. Your dark hair mix with Alec's curls. There a little bit of you in them. I saw you when I look at them. They need their father, they need the scent. They refused to calm down with our scent." Magnus nodded and wiped his tears away.
Maryse pulled him to the nursery and carried Magnus to the basinet. She carried Max and put on his arm. Later she carried Sophie and they stand side by side. "Hey Maxie." Magnus smiled looking at his son. Maryse was right he does see a little bit of him and Alec inside the twin. Max was looking straight into his eyes and he saw how he was snuggle into his chest like Alec always did. He couldn't help but to cry. He held him closed to his chest and sobbed in his tears. "Forgive daddy. I didn't mean to leave you guys alone. I'm so sorry." Magnus wiped his tears with his other hand and he put down Max after he was asleep. He grabbed Sophie from Maryse and kissed her on the forehead. He looked down at the small girl in his arm and he smiled. "She looked like my mum. But also like Izzy. That's why we named her Sophie. She's a bad ass like Izzy when she's in the womb." Maryse looked at him with a frowned look. "How do you know it was her kicking?" Maryse asked query on how he knows. He lifted the wrapper and showed her how she was kicking through the wrapper and she smiled. They put the twins back on the basinet and Magnus filled up the discharged paper for the registration and stuffs. He was happy to write down their names, 'Maxwell and Sophia Lightwood-Bane' as he promised Alec. He brought the twins basket to carried them out. Unfortunately for them they are not allowed to see Alec since Alec is still under radiation and its not good for babies. So Magnus have to bring them home until Alec is awake. Izzy promised to help on the loft for the twins especially now is semester break. She want to spend more time with Max and Sophie.
Few days later, Magnus was at home with the twins when suddenly his phone rang. He was feeding the twins with Izzy in the nursery room and he out Sophie down in the crib before grabbing his phone. "Magnus!" It was Jace shouting in the phone. Magnus had to pulled away a bit from the phone and squint his eyes due to the high pitch. "Jace what the hell? Couldn't you be anymore louder?" He could hear Jace was breathing heavily in the phone and he starts to panicked. "Get your ass here, they found a donor." Magnus gasped hearing the word and he almost drop his phone. Alec has been put on the list for a bone marrow transplant patient and apparently none of them were a match. Its really hard to find a donor and even your blood related doesn't make you a perfect match. "I'll be right there." Magnus put down the phone and rushed to his bedroom leaving Izzy confused in the room. She followed him to the bedroom and saw he put on his jacket and ready to leave. She was holding Max in her arm and rocking him to put him to sleep. "What's going on? Is Alec okay?" She asked worriedly and looked at Magnus pacing in the room looking for something. "Alec is getting a donor and I need to get to the hospital before he's in OR. You stay here and look after the twins. I call you if anything okay?" Isabelle wants to argue cause she wants to be there for his brother but she knew Alec meant more to Magnus and there is no way he allowed the twins to be at the hospitals with all those virus and germs. She nodded and Magnus kiss Max in her arm. Later he went to the nursery and kiss Sophie but she's asleep. "I will call Maryse to keep you company." Magnus said before grabbing the door. "send my love to Alec, tell him I love him." Izzy said and Magnus smiled at her. He left sprinting to the hospital again. Ever since Alec got sick, the hospitals has been like second home.
When Magnus arrived at the ICU, he saw they were preparing Alec for the OR. He approached them and went to Alec's side. He leaned and kiss him on the forehead. He miss kissing Alec's lips but the tube for Alec to breathe still there. He looked up to Dr Connor talking to someone else besides him, he is one of the best oncology doctor in that hospital. "We found a new donor, we will pushed him to OR as soon as possible."Magnus looked at them with sad eyes and he was afraid. The last time Alec in OR he almost lost him. He felt a hand on his shoulder and he looked up. His eyes met with Dr Connors, "He's gonna be alright, I will try my best to save him." He smiled and he left with the rest of the team. Magnus and Jace was alone in the room with Alec. Magnus held Alec's hand and let their fingers tangled with each other. How he wish those fingers would move and hold his hand back. He bend down and kiss Alec's cold hand and lay his cheek on it. "Alexander please stay strong for us. The twins have to grow up with you in it. I can't continued on living without your present in it. I want you to wake up, I miss you baby, all of us did." Magnus let his tears out and this week has been the hardest in his life. His face is mess, his eyes are puffy from all the crying and he was wondering how he still able to shed tears. Jace pat him on his shoulder and leave him with Alec. He sat for awhile staring at Alec's pale face. Even though Alec is pale and sickly he is still beautiful. His angelic face is the only thing Magnus wants to see when he woke up everyday. He was lost in his thought when the nurses came to Alec's room and Magnus stood up. He kiss Alec on his cheek and whispered in his ears. "I love you so much Alexander. Your family loves you too. Hold on to that. I will be right here when you wake up." He kiss Alec one last time on his cheek and he let the nurse take him. He sat in the room waiting. He felt how his stomach twisting in a lot of feelings. He was scared, tired, worried on how Alec was doing.
Magnus couldn't help but pacing around the room, he saw Jace falls asleep on the couch. He put a blanket on him and went back pacing around the room. It has been 5 hours since Alec left for surgery and nobody came out to tell him anything. Izzy and Maryse kept calling him and asked but his answers always the same. He was looking at his phone after he got off from the call. He was looking through the photo gallery and looked at photos of Alec. It was a photo of Alec sleeping on his chest. He couldn't help to take the photo cause Alec looks so cute sleeping and snoring on his body. He swiped through the photos and he started tearing up. He saw Alec's face smiling and laughing, showing his perfect straight teeth. Then he opened a video of him and Alec goofing around on bed. It was a video he talk to the twins. It was Alec who recorded it. He was talking to Alec's tummy when the twin inside and the tummy just move around to whatever he said. Alec laughed so hard in that video and Magnus smiled seeing that video. He held his phone to his chest. He leaned back and rested his head in his hand but then he saw Dr Connor walked in. He looked at Magnus who now stood up and shake his hand. "The surgery went well. He's gonna be okay. But he still in recovery. He will be in an isolation room later so restricted visitors. Only one at the time. His body is still weak and need time to adjust so we don't want him to get sick even more." Magnus nodded and he hug Dr Connor's body. "Thank you. Thank you so much." Magnus cried in tears but for once in this week it was tears of happiness and relieved. He saw Jace waking up and staring at both of them. He heard everything and he called his mum immediately. Soon as Jace finished his calls, he hugged Magnus and they both sighed in relieved. "Alec is gonna be okay. He is strong. He's the strongest of us all." Magnus nodded in Jace's shoulder and smiled when they apart.
Magnus stayed with Alec in his room after the surgery. He doesn't want to leave Alec alone but he need to get back home to the twins. He kissed Alec before he go and telling him he loves him few more times before he depart. When he reached home, Maryse opened the door and she pull Magnus in for a hug. "You look awful. Maybe you should shower and take a rest." Maryse suggested and Magnus couldn't agree more. He nodded before he went to his room but he stopped by the twins room and saw they are sleeping. He kiss his children and went back to his room for a hot bath and some sleep.
