Laura's POV

As I adjusted myself involuntarily in my hospital bed, I groaned whilst tossing and turning in the hospital bed. Disarranging the bed covers and slowly waking up from my short-lived slumber. I gradually opening my eyes—gazing up at Tyler, sitting a chair positioned right beside my bed.

"Hey Tyler," I rasped, my throats feeling dry and parched as my boyfriend glanced down at me.

"Morning sleepy heady." Tyler leaned down—pressing a gentle kiss on my forehead.

"What time is it, Emile?" I questioned my BFF, shifting my gaze momentary at her as I rubbed my eyes.

Emile pulled out her smartphone out of her jean pocket, checking the time. "Almost 5:30pm." I redirected my gaze over at Tyler.

"How are you feeling?" He inquired.

"Like I just came down from a sugar rush," I replied, before letting out a yawn. I sat upright in the bed, rearranging my position and wincing in pain. Feeling the effects of the pain medication wearing off. "What happened? I don't remember falling asleep."

"After you woke up the first time, the doctor sedated with some pain medication. Accidentally administering a little too much, so you were loopy for about half an hour before sleeping the rest of it off." Piers answered, as I directed my gaze over at him.

"How loopy was I?" I asked him—starting to feel edgy and anxious.

"Pretty loopy Laura. It was quite funny actually. You should've heard the kinds of puns you were making while you were delirious." I immediately covered my face with my hands. Blushing and now feeling embarrassed as hell, as I tried to hide my reddening cheeks.

All of sudden, I heard someone smack the back of Piers's head, grunting abruptly at the sudden impact. I removed my hands from my face—seeing a tall, ginger man I hadn't noticed before in the room standing next to Tyler's brother. All while Piers clutched the back of his head with one of his hands.

"What the hell was that for?" Piers hissed at the ginger next to him, using an aggravated tone of voice.

"Dude, you weren't helping," He responded with a blunt tone of voice, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Sorry Piers, but I'm gonna have to agree with dickhead over here," Emile spoke up, pointing her thumb over at the ginger. "Laura's been through enough in the past day and she doesn't need any more tension from you. No offense dude."

"Geez, I was trying to lighten the mood. You guys don't need to be so pushy," Piers uttered, glaring at the ginger hovering right beside him.

"Alright guys, that's enough," Tyler stated, as the ginger directed his gaze over at me.

When I glanced up at him, my breath immediately hitched in my throat. My eyes going round for a brief moment, as I eyed him. 'Who the heck is this guy? He kinda looks like— No... It can't be.' I took a deep breath, attempting to calm myself down.

'Wait a minute Laura, stop overreacting. You need to calm down. It's only a coincidence. Just 'cause this dude happens to share some physical similarities with him, doesn't mean that they're related.' I thought to myself.

The young man was around six feet tall, thus making him the tallest person in the room. Even though he had a buzz cut, you could still tell that his hair was a orange-brownish color, making him a ginger. Besides his well-built and muscular physique and chiseled features, his eyes were blue, cerulean blue. His skin was practically pale like mine, except it had more of a tan hue to it. Making it appear a bit more sun-kissed than translucent.

One particular feature that stood that to me was an old scar that ran along his left cheek, approximately the length of my index finger. The young man was wearing a grey v-shirt shirt; his sleeves partially rolled up to his elbows. Along with a pair of navy blue jeans; secured around his waist with a brown belt, and a pair of brown combat boots.

"I'm sorry, who are you?" I asked him, gaining his attention straight away.

When he was about to introduce himself to me, Leon, Chris, and a petite, blonde girl I've never seen before entered the room. The woman walked over towards the ginger, taking a sip out of her strawberry-banana smoothie in hand before standing next to him, on the right side of my hospital bed.

The guys came in, silently sitting down in a chair positioned beside my bed while clutching their left cheeks. What surprised me most was that both of their left cheeks were completely raw and a bit swollen. As I took a closer look at them, the areas' that were utterly all red and puffy appeared to make up the shape of a handprint.

"What happened you two?" I inquired, gesturing towards their cheeks.

"We acted out of line and ended up getting our asses handed to us by shortcake over here." Leon pointed his thumb over at the blonde woman, as a tiny smile creeped onto her lips.

"You guys had it coming either way," She reminded them, before redirecting her gaze over at me. "Oh, where are my manners. I'm Sherry, Sherry Birkin." She held out her hand to me.

"Nice to meet you Sherry. I'm Laura, Laura Rose." I grasped her hand, genuinely shaking it for a brief moment before shifting my gaze towards the man standing beside her. "And who might you be Cheeto-head?" I asked him.

"The name's Jake, Jake Muller," He introduced himself, as he held out his hand to me. A small smile decorating his lips. "It's a pleasure to finally meet you, Laura." I grabbed his hand—shaking it for a moment.

"What brings you two here to Washington?" I questioned them.

"It's a long story actually. To sum it all up, we came here because Leon told us that you were in desperate need of a blood transfusion, and Jake happened to be the only possible donor that they know of with the same blood type as you."

"How do you know my stepfather?" I inquired.

"We're family friends, we've known each other for quite a long time. " Sherry answered, then continued where she last left off. "Thanks to my boyfriend here, you're now getting the transfusion you need." When she finished her sentence, I gazed over at my IV pole.

It took me up till now to finally notice the two blood bags hooked onto one of the metal hooks. Each of them had one end of a tube connected to them, while the other was attached to my forearm. Allowing the blood to flow from the bag into my vein, into my system.

"Well, thank you Jake," I thanked him, as a smile curled onto my lips. "I wouldn't be here if it weren't for you."

"Yeah...Well... I-I... No problem Laura," He stuttered for a moment, while rubbing the back of his head.

Jake glanced away from me—appearing rather flustered and unsettled, as if he just heard someone thank him for the first time in his life. I couldn't help but chuckle at his reaction, it was certainly amusing to Sherry and I.

The two of us couldn't help but giggle, covering our mouths partially to silence our laughter. Jake glanced over at Sherry, before redirecting his gaze back at me—regaining his composure as he raised an eyebrow at me. "What's so funny Laura?"

"Nothing," I lied, trying to hide my growing smile from him.

***

"Do you really have to go, Tyler?" I asked him again, while he was sitting on the edge of my bed beside me. With me resting my head on top of his shoulder.

"Yes Laura. As much as I don't want to, I have to go soon," Tyler replied, as he grabbed ahold of my hand—caressing the back of it tenderly with his thumb. From across the room, both Chris and Jake were glaring coldly at Tyler the entire time, staring daggers at him as if they wanted to strangle him the shit out of him then finish him off by kicking his ass. If it weren't for Sherry sitting beside Jake whilst holding his hand and for Leon standing beside the dark-haired brunette, I think they would've done so already.

I didn't want Tyler to go yet, but he had to. Now that his parents are gone, the only person capable of looking after him is his brother, Piers. He and his commanding officer Chris are being called back to their headquarters for work-related reasons, deemed high confidential. So they have to take him and Emile with them as well, since her Aunt Nadia was going to look after her until her parents come back home from their business trip and figure out their living situation.

"You promise to call and text me every day?"

Tyler nodded his head. "I promise." He leaned down—planting a gentle kiss on my forehead. Then moving down to my lips, pressing them tenderly against mine. I couldn't help but smirk into the kiss.

"Alright love birds, time to break it up." Chris stated suddenly—separating the two of us, while Emile was taking pictures of the two of us using her smartphone.

"Come on, man! You just ruined the moment!" Emile whined. She sat up from her seat—putting her phone away in her pocket.

"Yeah, which I intended on doing since the four of us to have to go, now," Chris told us, before wrapping his muscular arms around me. I returned the gesture by wrapping my arms around him as well. Hugging him for a brief moment.

"See you a in week, kiddo." Chris released his grip on me—glancing down at me one last time before heading towards the doorway. Piers was the next person to come up to me, giving me a more gentle hug than Uncle Chris did.

"Goodbye Laura, I hope you feel better soon," Piers said to me, letting go of me and making his way towards Uncle Chris.

The next person up was Emile. She walked up to me, also giving me a hug too. Only this time, she was being more heedful due to the fact that my wounds haven't fully healed yet. "Bye bye Lari, see ya later girl."

Emile leaned down, quickly whispering into my ear, "Looks like the Taura ship officially has its first hater~"

(A/N: Any Taura/Lyler shippers out there?)

"No shit Sherlock! Isn't it obvious?" I whispered back, as she pulled away from me. Smirking and snickering as she made her way towards the doorway.

The last person to say goodbye to me was Tyler; sitting on the edge of the bed next to me. He leaned over and wrapped his arms around me, engulfing me in a hug. I responded by wrapping my arms around him as well—burying my head into the crook of his neck. Inhaling his scent for a brief moment.

"Goodbye Laura. Take it easy alright?" I lifted my head up—specking Tyler's lips one last time. "Will do."

Tyler sat up from the edge of the bed—pulling away from me and quickly handing me the black USB flash drive while nobody was looking. He glanced down at me one last time, before heading out the doorway with Chris, Piers, and Emile. Leaving the room right away and vanishing from our sights.

***3rd POV***

After the four of them left the medical facility, Leon, Rebecca, Sherry, and Jake stayed with Laura for the next couple of hours. Until the visiting hours within the hospital were officially over. Before they left, Leon gave her his Sentinel Nine handgun and a couple magazines when nobody was looking. Hiding the gun underneath Laura's pillow, and the clips in between the mattress and the bed.

The D.S.O. agent wasn't very keen on the idea of leaving his stepdaughter all alone and defenseless here at the hospital for the night. Knowing that she's most likely still gonna be pursued by an unknown terrorist organization, and by her father at the same. So in case either of them do try to come after Laura while she's still hospitalized, she would be armed and not left entirely vulnerable. This is what happens when you're the daughter of a U.S. government agent.

All while Laura was laying down in her bed, staring at the small blue teddy bear in she held in her hands, she abruptly sat up. Her eyes widening for a moment. 'Something's wrong... I just know it.' The teenager thought to herself, as she looked around her room. Even though she's obviously the only one, Laura couldn't shake the feeling that she wasn't alone. That someone or something is here, on this very floor...

As if on cue, Laura began to hear a pair of shoes clattering against the immaculate, tiled floor. Her eyes suddenly went round, dropping the stuffed animal onto the ground; the culprit produced the sounds of insistent and deliberate foot steps. Echoing faintly throughout the hallway outside of Laura's hospital room.

Already knowing who it was, she laid back down on the bed and rearranged herself, with her back facing the door. Laura closed her eyes, slowing her breathing down to a leisured pace. Enhancing her impression of appearing to be in deep sleep. Laura placed her right hand underneath her pillow—making it look like she's supporting her head on the pillow when in fact she was actually grasping the handle of the handgun that's lodged underneath of it. With her finger hovering just millimeters over the trigger.

Laura heard the door to her room being opened then closed vigilantly; her grip around the handgun tightened, as she continued to steadily breath in and out through her nostrils. The instant the man approached her bed, Laura instantly shot ip and sat upright—turning around and aiming the handgun at the blonde asshole standing in front of her.

He was sporting a black turtleneck, overlapped by a matching black blazer, black pants, black socks and shoes, black sunglasses, and a pair of elaborate black gloves. Laura's vibrant blue eyes stared coldly at his vigorous form, pulling the hammer back with her thumb. Cocking the gun.

"Well, well, well. Look who is it... It's my father," Laura spoke using a venomous tone, as she gazed directly up at Wesker.
