Chapter 26:

Selena’s POV:

“Mommy I can’t breathe.”

“Sel, seriously you’re crushing our daughter.” Justin chuckled from above me.

“I’m okay, I’m okay.” I said as I finally let go of Kaylie and stood up, smoothing out her hair as she looked up at Justin and I.

“Mommy, I’m going to be fine.” Kaylie said assuring.

“You here that, Selena? Kaylie is going to be just fine.” Justin repeated, patting my shoulder.

“I know, I know, I’m just so emotional that my baby girl is growing up.” I said as I bent back down, and pulled Kaylie into another hug.

“Daddy, can you get her off please? I don’t wanna be late for my first day.” Kaylie spoke while I clung to her.

“C’mon Sel,” Justin began. He got me off of Kaylie, just as her bus was pulling up.

“Remember, I’ll be back around 4.” Kaylie said pointing to us.

“We’ll meet you here babe.” Justin smiled.

Kaylie’s bus pulled up and after giving us a quick peck, she walked up the steps and into a seat towards the middle of the bus.

When she sat down, I saw she a chosen a seat next to George, Tori’s daughter, and both kids waved at Justin and I and we waved back.

“They grow up so fast.” I said leaning my head on Justin’s shoulder as we walked back up the drive way to the house.

“I know.” Justin agreed, kissing the top of my head.

It was Kaylie’s first day of preschool, and believe it or not, I was actually doing better than last night.

Last night I couldn’t stop crying, and I even went through Kaylie’s baby book four times! I couldn’t get over the fact my daughter was finally starting preschool. And I still can’t get over it.

Kaylie even said she wanted to ride the bus with George instead of Justin or I giving her rides, and picking her up.

Luckily the preschool has their own bus, so they wouldn’t have to ride it with the rest of the elementary kids.

“I’m gonna miss her baby days.” I said as I plopped down on the nice king size bed, in our room.

Justin plopped down beside me lying on his side facing me, while I laid on my back facing the ceiling.

“Well maybe you won’t have to miss it too soon.” Justin said as he scooted closer, bringing our bodies closer.

“And what are you trying to say Mr. Bieber?” I teased, as I turned to my side.

“That we should get busy on our next child ASAP.” Justin smirked.

Justin rolled on top of me, trapping me under his body, as he began making out with my neck.

“You’re so gonna take advantage of this aren’t you?” I asked as he continued attacking my neck.

“Yep.” Justin breathed quickly and continued what he was doing.

Suddenly the door bell rang, interrupting Justin and I.

Justin let out a frustrated groan.

“Who in the hell is that?” Justin huffed.

“Oh stop being a big baby.” I chuckled and pushed Justin off of me.

Justin groaned once more, and I walked down the stairs with Justin trailing not to far behind me.

“I deserve to act like a big baby. We were in the middle of something very important, and someone had the nerve to interrupt us.”

“It’s not like we won’t have another chance Justin.”

“We can’t do it when Kaylie is home, and I work a lot.”

“You act like we don’t have weekends, and Kaylie doesn’t have grandparents who don’t mind watching her.” I laughed.

“I hate it when you make me look stupid.” Justin said from behind me.

We reached the front door and when I turned the knob to open it, the person standing there was the last person I expected.

“Sasha?” Justin said breathless.

“Hi Justin, Selena.” She said hesitantly holding her purse close to her.

“What are you doing here?” Justin sneered.

“We need to talk.” Sasha said.

“Anything you have to say to me, you can say infront of Selena.” Justin said moving me behind him so he could stand face to face with Sasha.

“That’s what I meant.” Sasha added. “I need to talk you and Selena.”

“About what?” I asked from behind Justin.

“Can I come in?” Sasha asked.

I placed my hand on Justin’s back telling him it’s ok.

“Fine, but you got 15 minutes.” Justin said sternly and he moved aside allowing Sasha in the house.

We all went to the formal living area and took a seat. Sasha sat on the opposite side of Justin and me.

“So what do you want?” Justin asked.

“I wanna know if ya’ll want to adopt my son?” Sasha asked and it felt like the world stopped spinning for a second.

Did Sasha seriously just ask Justin and me if we wanted to adopt her child?

“Excuse me?” Justin asked wondering if he heard Sasha right.

“I asked, if you and Selena would like to adopt my son?” Sasha repeated her voice shaking.

“Why?” I asked.

“I rather not my son go into foster care, with a family that I don’t know. I would be questioning myself everyday is he getting the love and affection he needs.”

“Sasha I don’t—“

“Please hear me out. I know I’ve been such a bitch, and so on, but don’t think of this as you’re doing this for me, but a kid who deserves a good life.” Sasha explained. “A better life than I could ever give him.”

“What about dickwad?” Justin snickered referring to John.

“I don’t want him anywhere near this child, even if it is his.”

“Why don’t you want him anywhere near his own?” Justin asked.

“Few weeks ago I caught him injecting heroin, and then few days ago he done it again even though he said he wasn’t doing it anymore. His ass will be in jail soon, so I rather keep the baby safe.”

“If Justin and I do decide to adopt your son, how are you gonna tell John?” I asked.

“I told him that I was leaving to go back home.”

“Back to St. Louis?”

“No, to Africa; I’m originally from there, but moved to St. Louis when I was 17.”

“So he thinks you and the baby are leaving?”

“Yeah, actually he thinks we already left. I’ve been on the hide out for a while so,” Sasha said.

“When is the baby due?” I asked. And to tell the truth I was actually getting excited.

“November 27th.” Sasha answered. “So do y’all think y’all could adopt him?”

“Sasha, Selena and I are going to need to talk this out a little more.” Justin answered getting up from his seat. “We will give you a call when we came to our decision.” He added, basically telling Sasha to get the hell out of his house.

“Actually I canceled my phone plan so John couldn’t track me. You’ll have to call my lawyer.” Sasha said digging through her purse. She pulled out a card that had her lawyers contact info on it.

“As long as y’all call before October 30th, then everything will be in order.” Sasha said smiling handing me the card before showing herself out the door.

Justin’s POV:

I was still thinking about earlier when Sasha came over.

“I asked, if you and Selena would like to adopt my son?” Those words repeated in my mind.

It was now 4 hours later and I was lying in bed, while Selena went to go pick up Kaylie from the bus stop.

I could tell Selena was excited about the idea of adopting, but I rather have my own kids—flesh and blood.

I mean I know adopting Sasha’s son would be good, giving him a life that who knows if he would have if he went into foster care, but still.

“DADDY!” I heard Kaylie yell, her footsteps coming closer to the bedroom, and soon she jumped on the bed beside me.

“Hey princess, how was your first day?” I asked sitting up before placing her on my lap.

“It was great! Me and George made a painting together!” Kaylie said happily.

“That’s good sweetie.” I smiled as Selena came into the room and sat next to us.

“Mommy said that I might have a baby brother soon Daddy! Is that true? I’ve always wanted a little sister or brother!” Kaylie smiled.

I looked over to Selena giving her an annoying look.

I can’t believe she already put that through Kaylie’s head when we haven’t even talked about it yet ourselves.

“Kaylie how about you go put up your backpack? Your dad and I need to talk for a sec.” Selena said nervously putting a piece of her hair behind her ear.

Once Kaylie left the room Selena began talking.

“Justin don’t be mad, but I think adopting Sasha’s kid will be really good. And it just sort of slipped out when I told Kaylie.” Selena explained.

“Babe I’m not mad, I just wish you would of talked to me first, before you told Kaylie.” I said.

I sighed and realized that we were gonna have a new member of the family soon.

“So what are you saying?” Selena asked excitedly.

“We’re gonna have a new member of the family soon.” I smiled to her.

“And Justin, I know you want to have your own kids, but we have all the time for that. And plus I don’t think my body is ready just yet for another baby.” Selena laughed.

“Oh hush; you’d be one sexy pregnant woman.” I teased leaning over to kiss Selena.

“My hormones wouldn’t be sexy that’s for sure.” Selena joked.
