Chapter 1 - Ryan

The phone rang, and then someone picked up. "Hey Ryan!" Goldy said. I sighed in relief. "Hey Goldy!!! Today's the day!" I️ said excitedly. "Yup!" She replied. "The daycare's finally opening again! Now we can see everybody again!" There was a pause, and then a heard a shiver on the other end. "And Tina." Goldy finished. I️ bit my lip. Tina wouldn't like how close Goldy and I️ had gotten. But did I care? I don't know. Did Goldy enjoy last night as much as I️ did? If I️ had worked up the courage to ask her on a date, just the two of us, would she say yes? If I kissed her, would she kiss me back?
I️ shook my head, dispelling the thoughts. "It'll be okay." I️ reassured her. "I won't let anything happen to you. I️ promise." If I could see her, I knew she'd be smiling. "Thank you, Ryan. It means a lot," Goldy said. "No problem," I️ replied. "But let's get to the daycare now! Meet you at your house. I'll be there in a couple minutes!"
