The girls were completely silent when Mrs. Garcia picked them up from school.

"So, girls, how was school today?"

They replied at the same time.

"Great."

"You two are usually chatterboxes, is everything todo bien?" Mrs. Garcia asked.

"Everything's great, mama." Steph answered with a giggle.

Savanna glared at her questioningly.

"What?" Steph asked in a defending tone.

"Oh, nothing. Just wondering why everything is so great all of a sudden." Savanna questioned with a smirk.

"Sav!" Stephanie blushed. "I'm just having a good day..."

Mrs. Garcia glanced at the girls through the car mirror.

"You're acting funny, Stephanie." She stated.

"Am not, mamá!" She hissed.

Savanna chuckled and Steph sent her a warning glance.

"Alright, niña..." Mrs. Garcia said.

When they arrived at the Garcia's, there was another round of silence as the two girls sat down on Stephanie's bed.

"Why were you being so weird in the car?" Steph demanded.

"Me?" Savanna laughed.
"I'm pretty sure you're the one who's been acting weird today.
Maybe... ever since lunch?"

Savanna nudged Steph's forearm.

"Shut up!" She hissed.

Savanna laughed.

"Ok, ok... at least just tell me what you think of Shawn."

Stephanie choked on nothing.

"What?!" She sputtered.

Savanna laughed again.

"C'mon, I saw the way you were looking at him. Have a new thing for bad boys now?"
She teased.

"Sa-av! Not funny!" Stephanie sighed, a small smile stretching across her round face.
"I mean, he's kinda cute, though..."

"Aha! I knew it!" Sav shouted.

"Shhhh! It's not a big deal, Sav. I just said he was hot." Steph whispered.

"Oh, so he's hot now?" Savanna laughed.

"That's not what I meant!" Steph whisper-shouted.

Savanna broke out into a fit of laughter.

"I'm- I'm sorry!" She gasped between laughs. "I'll leave you alone now."

Stephanie rolled her eyes. "Thank you!"

A few seconds later, there was a knock on the bedroom door.

"Girls, dinner is ready! Tamales and quesadillas tonight!"
Mrs. Garcia shouted through the closed door.

"Tamales!" Stephanie exclaimed happily, and darted to the door.

(Sorry for the short chapter, I just wanted this dialogue to be the main point of this chapter.
A vote and comment would mean so much, thanks for reading my story.)
