I don't watch anime all the time ,nor do I hardly watch it. I just watch anime that really interest me. But back when I was in middle school, I feel like I acted like a weeaboo.
In middle school, I tried to get on the train of what people usually watched in my school. Meaning Dragon Ball Z, Fairy Tail, Naruto, Death Note, and Pokémon.
Death Note and Pokémon are the shows I genuinely enjoyed. Pokémon was good for the first few seasons though, to me. Death Note was my shit. Mostly because of how much of a murderous genius Light was ,but the mixture of humor, slight romance, drama, and a fucked up god complex really sucked me in.
Now I have tried watching the others and each one was meh or uggh. Like fairy tale was a pretty good show, but I stopped somewhere in the 200's of episodes because I can't keep up with them. Like I'm very forgetful and I like to binge. Those two don't go well.
Naruto, on the other hand, is something I felt uggh about. It has a lot of episodes. The fight scenes were more than one episode long. I wanted to watch it again and I did ,just to see if I would like it as much as others. It just wasn't interesting to me. The only interesting person to me was Sakura because of her anger.
These animes didn't interest me to go deeper into different shows until I started watching the 'weirder shows'. Those shows that make you think WTF. Or why was it created? To mind fuck people?
Shows like Mononoke, FLCL, Pop Team Epic, Higurashi, and Devilman Crybaby. These shows made me fall in love with them just by being a weird mixture. Mystery, drama, comedy, romance, and a massive mind fuck! Those things are what I look for and action is alright just the 3 episode long fight 'scene' is too much for me.
Whether the first set of anime shows were to your liking or not, I really recommend watching the second set.
