“Forth’s POV”
I woke up the next morning warm and contended. Flexing my arms, the events of the previous day immediately came back to me as I realized the solid, warm body I am spooned against was Beam.
So last night we finally had sex. How many rounds was it? I could not recall anymore. We did it many times over and over, to the point that I’ve lost count. I made love with Beam until his body could not keep up anymore and he passed out. I just hope he wakes up soon. We can continue with our love making today since it’s a weekend. I simply can’t get enough of him.
I leaned to his shoulder and kissed the white silky flesh with my morning stubbled face. I stopped taking advantage of his sleeping body when I saw the effect of my uncontrolled desire for him. His perfect snow white skin from the neck, chest, arms, and down to his smooth thighs were tattered with red marks; some of them turning from purple to black. It was worse than getting beaten. Was I that rough last night?
It was a regret that I unwrapped myself around him, untangled our limbs and rolled off the bed. I smiled lovingly down at Beam when he whimpered in his sleep with the loss of the warmth. He snuggled deeper within the sheets and slowly opened his innocent eyes.
His bubble of nuptial bliss was burst at the sudden urge to puke. He stood quickly to run to the bathroom but was then stopped by the sharp searing pain down his lower body. I felt guilty when I hear him cringe in pain.
I joined him inside and rubbed his back as he throws up in the sink. I delicately ran my hand after seeing where the marks have extended. I must have unconsciously placed those when I did him from the back.
“Maybe.. Maybe.. I got you pregnant.” I joked, realizing that there will be no more continuations of our love making for today.
Beam felt better after he got morning bath. Thankfully he got his appetite and color back, pale but that’s was how he was ever since we met. He was back to his stubborn self like nothing has happened. I had to assist him in sitting and leaning however. He still gets a bit of the stinging sensation. By the afternoon, he started complaining of hip pain. I was cursing myself while putting menthol patches on his waist. I saw that the forming hematoma on his sides were my finger marks.
We were currently having our lunch at his dorm when my phone rang. It was my senior from college. He asked me if I can be at the university as soon as possible. He did not give much detail but he sounded so worried. My heart ached suddenly. I had no choice but to leave Beam at his current miserable state and check on what was causing the urgency. I did not know why but I felt that something was heading our way. It’s big and disastrous but I can’t tell exactly what it was.
I drove my motorbike and rushed to our campus. I saw the gravity of the situation when I arrived. Hundreds of angry engineering students were crowding the main building. I went to talk with one of the Sotus officers and it was indeed a bad news for everyone on the college. They told me to keep a low profile for a while in order to not get involved in the mess. I was already hot on the eyes of the Sotus leaders.
It was dusk when we settled the issue. Beam called to check on the updates. He was also worried when I left him alone at his dorm. He told me that he was at Belle’s café. I headed straight there to meet him.
“What are you doing here Beam?”
“I got bored. Am I not allowed to go out?”
“No. No. Of course you can. I’m just worried that you’re still.. you know.. in pain.”
Beam’s eyes rolled. I sounded like a husband worried for his sick wife. He made it to drive all the way here. Then that probably means that he’s fine now. I'll do some sweet talk later tonight and maybe we can continue it in bed. I was smiling while raising both brows.
“Forth, how was it at your department?” Beam asked curiously.
“Not good Beam.” I answered with a serious face.
“What do you mean?”
“The sotus system was abolished this morning. The students were at rampage and it is chaotic back there.”
“How come?” Beam had the same expression as me when I heard about the news.
“After the previous moon from our college passed the title to Phana, we lost our only hope to protect the system. There are faculties who have been against the sotus for a long time. They have been prepared to bring it down and they were just waiting for the right moment to strike. Now that we didn’t win any tittle, we also lost the power of sharing decisions for the university."
“You mean the power that comes with the tittle of the star and moon? Maybe I can ask Phana to help you out.”
“I don’t think he can be of any help at all. You see, the system was once prestige due to its good reputation for disciplining the engineering students. Its sole purpose was to teach the junior students respect towards their seniors and in return, the seniors will support their juniors in all ways possible. Before, we had countless public service activities and rehabilitation missions to the low communities. It was one of our greatest accomplishments as sotus members; to be able to give service and help to others. Right after Seff graduated, the system was slowly corrupted by the succeeding leaders. It became a fraternity that governs hierarchy. The power was abused by ill and unfair minds.”
“Engineering students had to obey orders from seniors even if it is against their will. The system was stained with malicious deeds. There were also gossips that the sotus was protecting illegal drug market inside the campus but it was never proven or anybody caught in the act. I wanted to change the current image of the sotus and bring back what Seff has once dreamed of it to be. Unfortunately it must be really time for it to end.”
“Forth…”
“Don’t be sad Beam. Now that the system is gone, I’ll have more time with you. Just think of it that way.”
Belle joined us in the table and brought us some drinks. She was not interested in listening to me but was focused on Beam. She was staring at him intently. I looked at Beam on the other hand and he was blushing.
“Beam, something is different with you today. You’re blooming. Did something happen to you last night?” Belle commented.
“Stop teasing. I’ve always been like this.” Beam answered with pursed lips.
“Okay, if you say so. I have to leave you couples for a while. The café is busy since it’s a weekend. I’ll be back to check on you guys. Enjoy the drinks.” Belle was trying to suppress her smile as he pat Beam’s shoulder.
Belle was about go back serving others when she got bumped by a customer. Both were apologetic for knocking each other unintentionally. Beam was left staring on the floor after incident.
“Beam, are you okay?” I asked.
“I think that customer dropped this.” Beam leaned down to pick a silver foil with traces of white powdered substance.
Beam was never himself after that. There was something bugging him but he wouldn’t want to talk about it..
Monday and were back to our usual schedule. The engineering building was still in chaos. There were riots everyday. Students were conducting a strike at the main building causing temporary suspension to all my classes.
On the other hand, Beam and his friends still had their regular lectures but the medicine department held all the exams for the whole week so as to celebrate their victorious win. Phana and Pring gained the two most prestigious titles in the university. It was a grandois moment especially that they acquired the tittle of the moon.The Engineering department has held on the tittle for so long that everybody taught it would be impossible for other colleges to gain it. Phana is beyond everybody’s expectation.
I came earlier today to wait for Beam’s class to end. I am still not giving up for another chance to sleep in his dorm. Once is never enough when he is your boyfriend. Once you get a taste, you'll never want to stop. That's how addicting he can be.
I took a peek inside their classroom. They were still waiting for their next professor to arrive. I can see that he’s getting bullied by Kit. Good thing that they were seated near the door. I somehow get to hear their conversation.
“So how was your first time?” Kit asked.
“What? I don’t know what you’re saying.”
”Don’t deny it Beam. Our rooms are just a wall apart. I could not sleep the whole night hearing you moan.”
“……..” Beam was left speechless.
“So tell me, does it really hurt that much?” Kit grinned.
“Shut up Kit. You must be dreaming.”
“Oh.. Forth.. Faster.. Uhh-hh.. I’m cu…” Beam covered Kit’s mouth while his face was turning into all shades of red.
“…..” Phana’s mouth was left open after hearing the conversation.
I heard my Beam yelped when Kit grab him from the ass. This medicine students sure knows how to kill time. I got embarrassed though. I did not know that I was capable of making Beam moan in pleasure so as for our neighbors to hear. I drew my ears closer to hear Beam’s answer to Kit when I heard someone call my name.
“Forth!” The voice was coming from the end of the hallway.
It was Torn. He was running frantically like something bad has happened. When he got closer, I saw him sweating and trying to catch his breath. He panted for a few seconds before stating his emergency.
“I could not find you in your building. Why is it chaotic back there anyways?”
“Why are you in our building again? And what do you need from me?” I asked clueless of what was happening.
“I know I’ll see you here. I need your help. Can you come with me for a moment?”
“Okay. But bring me back before Beam’s class ends.” It must be something urgent for him to be panicking.
“Yeah, it will not take long.”
We got into Torn’s car and drove outside the university. He was being quiet. It’s not like him at all not to talk continuously.
“Where are we going Torn? And what do you need me for?”
“Uhhmm.. We’re almost there. I’ll explain it later.”
Something sounds suspicious. I get the feeling that he’s hiding something. For a moment, I started feeling drowsy and weak. I did not know when I fell asleep. The last thing I recall was smelling a fruity volatile odor inside Torn’s car.
When I woke up, I was already lying at the backseat and the sky was dark outside the tinted car. We must have been driving for hours already. My head was light and everything was swirling. I tried to focus my vision but it constantly fades out. When did I pass out? I heard Torn spoke to someone on the phone.
“Do you have Beam? Good then.. Keep an eye on him. We’ve been waiting for this night to come. We can’t make another mistake, do you understand?”
Then all my senses faded and my body stopped responding. Everything blacked out in an instant.
“Beam’s POV”
“Go ahead. Forth will be here any minute. I’ll catch up with the review later. See you guys.” I told Pha and Kit to go home first.
It’s very unusual for Forth not to be here by this time. He usually ends his class earlier than mine. What could have happened? I tried calling his phone but it was turned off. His last message was around 2pm saying that he was already waiting for me outside the room. It’s almost 7pm. I am the only left in the building. Where could he possibly be?
I called at their house. It was her mom who answered the phone telling me that he hasn’t come back yet. I am getting worried. I went back to my dorm hoping to see him there waiting for me. He loves making surprises. Maybe he’s planning something for me, I don’t know. He always has the stupidest ideas.
The lights were closed and my room was empty. I’m starting to get a bad feeling about this. I did not know who to turn too. I did not want to bother his parents so I went to see Belle. He was the next person closest to us. She might have an idea.
It was already 9pm when I arrived at the café. Belle was about to close early today. I wonder what happened. She ran towards me when she saw me got down the car. She must have seen my face cringing in outmost concern.
“Beam.. What’s wrong?”
“Belle. Do you have an idea where Forth is?” I crossed my fingers hoping that she has knows Forth’s whereabouts.
“The last time I saw him, he was with you. What happened? Did you guys have a fight?”
My heart took a deep dive. That stupid guy! Why isn’t he taking my call? He’s making me worry so much.
“Belle, I need your help. I can’t find Forth. I feel like something is wrong. I don’t know whom to talk to.”
“Calm down Beam. Forth is old enough to handle himself. Why don’t you sit for a while I make you dinner. Try calling his phone again. He might just have drained his cell battery.”
Belle went back to the kitchen. I sat down inside the café and tried calling Forth’s phone again just like what Belle suggested but it still was not ringing. I tried to calm down and assess the situation.
Then suddenly it ring to my mind that Kit’s brother is the head of the district police. But it was still too early to report a missing person. Maybe Kit and Pha can help me find Forth.
I went to the kitchen to tell Belle that I’ll be going ahead. I did not want to bother her anymore. She was closing the shop early today. She might have some errands to do.
I was shocked when I saw her putting something on the food she’s preparing. It was the same substance in silver foil. Belle immediately hid it behind her back when she heard the kitchen door open.
Therefore that foil that I picked after Belle bumped to a customer was hers. I approached her pretending that I did not see that, but I was already panicking.
“Beam! Do you need something? I’m almost done with the pasta.” She spoke nervously.
“No. I’m not hungry. I have to go ahead. I suddenly remember that Pha and Kit are waiting for me.”
I head straight towards the door not waiting for her to reply. Belle came running after me.
“Beam wait!”
I was not listening. I was scared for my life. What was that substance? Why is she putting it in my food? What is Belle trying to do to me? I never did anything against her. She was the closest person to me and Forth. Does it have something to do with Forth’s sudden disappearance? I could not trust anyone.
As soon as I got out of the streets, older students with the same uniform as Forth, probably about four or five of them jumped out of a car and grabbed me. I tried to fight but they were apprehensive. I got punched straight in the gut causing me to suddenly gag for air. Something hard was hit behind my head before I got pulled inside the car. I was blindfolded and my mouth was taped.
I can hear Belle’s fading voice shouting for help as the car zoomed away. My hands are getting tied as I feel the back of my head sting in pain. At first I thought I was sweating hard because of fear of getting abducted, but when I smelled the rusty scent of blood, then I realized that I was profusely bleeding.
