Bold Underlined Italics = Shane's mother

Normal Text = Jaxon

"Jaxon? Jaxon? Jaxon Taylor?"

"I'm sorry ma'am. I don't know how you managed to get a hold of this number but I urge you to delete it immediately. I do not know how such a security breach occurred but I am afraid that I cannot afford to have a member of the public contacting me on my personal devices."

"N...no, wait. Please!"

"I'm afraid I have no choice but to hang up."

"Y...you can't. I have to know. I have to know where he is."

"Where who is, ma'am? Are you quite sure that you are alright? You sound slightly distressed. Perhaps you called the wrong number?"

"No! No. I have to know where my son is. Unlike his father who is content to sit at home and ignore the news stories that are lighting up his name like distress calls, I am not. I refuse to sit back and relax whilst my son has been reported missing."

"I...I'm sorry ma'am. Are you certain you have the right number? Shouldn't you be calling the police if your son is missing?"

"I should hope that you are looking for him,  my boy."

"Wha...why on earth would I be looking for your son?"

"Well, I would hope that you would be seeing as you grew up with him. Last time I checked you were his manager so if you're not looking for him then you damn well should be otherwise I'm afraid I'm going to have to sue you."

"Ma'am, can you please calm yourself down? For one thing, I highly doubt that you have the money to sue me and for the second, who is your son?"

"You don't recognize my voice?"

"No, ma'am. I'm afraid not. Are you sure you are alright? Would you like me to get the police on the line for you? They can probably do a better job at finding your son than I can. While I'm at it I should probably ring up the hospital. Perhaps you are in shock. That would explain the illusion that I know your son which, I must say, is highly improbable"

"Jaxon. Benjamin. Alexander. Taylor. That is not how you speak to an adult superior to your age. I am not delirious you inconsiderate boy. It has been a while since we have spoken but I can't say that your attitude has improved since when we last met."

"We...we last met? I'm sorry ma'am but how do you know my full name?"

"You always did have a thick skull behind that handsome face of yours but I'll spare you the confusion. This, the person you were previously insulting, is the mother of your best friend and client."

"W...wait. Hang on a second. Mrs-"

"Caliente. Indeed. Mrs Caliente, very concerned and worried mother of her child Shane Caliente who appears to have dropped off of the face of the earth according to those blasted news stories."

"I...I am so sorry Mrs Caliente. I did not realize who I was speaking to."

"That's quite alright. I can barely recognize you boys these days either. You've both grown up quite a bit. I see you on the television on all of those chat shows and I can barely get my head around the fact that I helped raise those two boys. You've both gotten so handsome. It's such a shame that you do not keep in touch anymore."

"We've been...busy."

"Too busy to talk to your own parents? I am not the only mother worried out of her mind. When your mother heard of Shane's disappearance she automatically assumed that you were with him."

"Wh...why on earth would she assume that?"

"Because you two are always together, tied at the hip you two are. It's the only comfort I have these days. My son is out there in the big, wide world and it should scare me to death but it doesn't because I know he has you with him."

"I...I"

"You've always protected him. 'Warrior Jax', he used to call you when he got home from school. He could never quite thank you enough for that and neither can I. Without you he would have gotten beaten to pulp by all those nasty bullies. That's what made your friendship so touching, I think. The strength you had when you stood up for each other."

"Mrs Caliente..."

"And of course he was there for you too. Like that time when you were so upset over your chemistry scores so you both stayed up all night studying. I can still hear his little voice as he read out the reactivity series to you."

"..."

"Always helping each other. Nothing can break a friendship like that. It's the only thing that stops me worrying about him every second of the day. Knowing you are with him is good enough. I know you'll protect each other, you always have."

"..."

"It's just hard, you know? Seeing him up there on stage, talking and smiling. He just looks so...happy, you know what I mean? He just looks so carefree and like he's enjoying life for every second that he has it. That...that's all I ever wanted for him. I...it just makes me wonder... if his life is so perfect then why doesn't he call? Do we not fit into the perfect life he has now? What's stopping him? Nothing. That's what."

"I...it's not like that Mrs Calien-"

"Stop calling me that. You know you always call me Suzie. The fact that you are not calling me Suzie leads me to believe that you are hiding something, Mr Taylor. For, if you were not nervous, then you would not feel the need to address me with such respect."

"I...I"

"You seem to have forgotten that I work as a psychologist for a living. Now tell me, Jaxon, where is my boy and why was he out of your sight in the first place?"

"I...it's complicated but we've got an eye on him."

"Okay. Alright. I'll take that for now but this conversation is far from over. Well... well where is he? Is he alright? Where did he go? Are you going to get him? Why did he leave in the first place?"

"He...he appears to be in a small town just outside London. We're on our way there now Mrs C-"

"Suzie."

"Suzie. We're just on our way to get him now. We've had several reports of him in the area and have set the place into lockdown with security at every area. We intend to retrieve him as soon as possible."

"Lockdown? What is he, a criminal?"

"N...no. We simply want t-"

"Was the lockdown your idea Jaxon?"

"Well, yes b-"

"No buts. You are hiding something."

"I'm n-"

"Yes, you are. He's running from something. You wouldn't have set up the lockdown if he wasn't. You know what he is running from. What is he running from?"

"..."

"Is it you?"

"Well...not me in particular. It's a number of factors. You see Su-"

"Don't call me that. You have no right to. Not anymore. Not after what you've done."

"I...I've done?"

"Yes, what you've done. If there's a problem and you know what it is and you have done nothing then you are as just as to blame as the cause of the problem."

"I..."

"No. You let me speak. You never leave someone to suffer. Ever. You address the problem. You sort out the problem. You never leave it be."

"..."

"I suppose you aren't protecting him as much as I trusted you to."

"I...I'm afraid that your trust was misplaced Mrs Caliente."

"Damn right it was. Now my boy is in trouble."

"He looks fine Miss Caliente. I've got eyes on him now. In the next two minutes, he'll be in the car and you talk to him yourself."

"That does not mean he is not in trouble."

"I...I suppose you're right."

"You let him fall into whatever he is in now. That's on you Jaxon and I'll be damned if you don't sort it out."

"..."

"Is he really okay?"

"...yeah."

"Oh...okay then. Don't take my words to heart. No force can stop the one of an angry mother."

"I understand why you were worried, Mrs Caliente. It's perfectly understandable."

"You're not Jaxon anymore, are you?"

"...technically."

"It's in the way you speak and the words you speak my boy, you're not the same person you used to be."

"I...I guess you could say that."

"It seems that life has transformed you into a true businessman."

"I can't say the same for your son."

"I'm not surprised. He's always hated those kinds of people. Always to 'stingy' as he called them."

"I think he's already feeling a little better Mrs Caliente."

"How can you tell?"

"He was kissing a girl when we saw him."

"Oh...have you got him then?"

"Yes. He's in the backseat."

"What about the girl?"

"..."

"You left her standing there, didn't you?"

"..."

"Didn't you?"

"..."

"I'm going to take your silence as guilt, meaning that you left her in bad conditions. Let me guess, you left her in the cold?"

"..."

"And in the rain?"

"..."

"Despicable. Absolutely despicable Mr Taylor. I see the compassionate boy I once knew is long gone. It's a shame; I quite liked him."

"..."

"Were you driving whilst calling me?"

"No. A friend of mine was driving."

"Good."

"Oh and Jaxon?"

"Yeah?"

"Remember that having something to run to is just as dangerous as having something to run from."
