Unlike Cleo, Shane had discovered that life was not like the movies a long time ago. He had experienced what it meant to catch a glimpse of the dull, matte colour that lay beneath a shimmering dream. It was fair to say that Shane's faith in fairy-tales had long expired. This did not mean, however, that he did not occasionally use the movie stereotypes to his advantage.
One example of this particular trait was the dark sports car streaking down the motorway in a blur of lavish expense. Inside this sports car was a certain superstar, eyes covered by dark glasses as he sped past the others around him. His intentions, of course, were to give a certain school and its inhabitants a taste of their own vile medicine.
