I enter the dorm building and leisurely walk towards the desk.
The shadow lunges from the darkness as I cluelessly amble towards the elevators.
The shadow holds out its limbs, readying for its attack.
"Yahoo! I was right Ashy-boy!!!"
The monster wraps its arms around me and spins me around ferociously.
After a few moments, the monster loses its balance and we both fall to the ground, landing on the carpet with multiple thuds.
"...Ack, that hurt..." Gary groans, his head gazing at the ceiling as he rubs his shoulder.
"Right back at you..."
"Ugh... At least I got to see you and your girlfriend be all lovey-dovey..." Gary groans once again, sitting back up.
"No, we weren't being lovey-dovey." I groan.
"You were totally lovey-dovey," Gary says, giving me a childish grin.
"Like I said, we weren't being lovey-" I say, cut off as both of us break into a fit of laughter.

So apparently Gary and I are rooming in the normal dorms from now on.
What luck.
Gary opens the door to the dorm and I step in.
"Excuse me..." I walk in, looking around.
The dorm was much different than the one Serena and I shared.
It was smaller, with two beds against the corners of the room along with a large window overlooking the lake.
There was no kitchen, except for a microwave beside a desk near the door.
I guess this is what a normal college dorm room is like...
I set down my bag and collapse in the desk chair.
"So Ash, how's the room?" Gary says, placing his laptop bag on an unmade bed, probably his.
"Unlike the other dorm I had. It's pretty messy too, but I guess that's how it is when Gary lives in a room," I joke.
Gary chuckles.
"Consider that a gift from the magnificent Gary!" He mimics a superman pose with yet another childish grin plastered on his face.
We joke around for a while longer before getting settled in the room, Gary catching some sleep while I pull out my phone in the darkness.
I come across Serena's contact and hastily change her name to avoid embarrassing situations.
Not letting that happen anytime soon, haha.
I send her a quick message and wait for a reply.
Me: Hey, you awake?
I tap my fingers on the armrest of the chair impatiently, thinking she's asleep.
After a while, I decide that she's asleep and shut off my phone before getting some sleep.
I doze off, not knowing it'll be my last solid night's sleep for a while.

The Following Morning

I amble towards the lecture hall, phone in hand as I send Serena a text.
Me: GM! <3 Btw what's your morning lecture? :)
...
...
...
I receive no response once again.
I sigh and enter the building, getting a sickening feeling in the pit of my stomach.
But I force it away as I focus on my morning lecture.

Timeskip

I walk silently down the streets of the city, not knowing what to do.
I send her another text.
Me: Serena? Are you okay? I'm worried
...
...
...
Silence.
I hopelessly walk past the park when I notice a certain honey-blonde girl near a fountain.
Oh thank god...
I was so worried...
I smile and step forward, only to freeze in my tracks.
Serena wasn't alone.
Someone was talking to her, her back facing me.
Wait...no...
My heart skips a beat as my eyes gaze upon the face of someone I thought I'd never have to see again.
It's unmistakable.
His raven-hair like mine...
That same blue jacket...
Those same devilish eyes...
It's him.
I notice him smirk as a blush grows on Serena's cheeks.
No...
Get away from her...
Stop ruining my life!
I stomp forward and grab Serena's hand, pulling her back as I step in front of Calem.
"Get away from her,"
His dark eyes gaze at me, sending a shiver down my spine.
"Well well well, look at who it is. Standing up for yourself for once?" Calem says with another smirk.
I remain still and silent, blocking Calem.
"Ash, stop, don't do this," Serena says, tugging at my sleeve.
Calem's eyes flicker to Serena before looking back at me.
"You should listen to her, Ash. No one want's to get hurt here,"
My foot remains planted on the floor.
"She's my girlfriend, Calem."
"Really, now?" He scoffs, laughing slightly.
My anger begins to boil.
"You heard me right. We're in a relationship, and you're being an intrusive jerk."
He once again chuckles.
"What's so funny?" I say, infuriated.
"I bet she didn't tell you about her arranged marriage,"
My eyes widen.
"W-What?"
He smiles devilishly.
"You heard me. Her parents arranged her marriage. With me to be precise,"
I slowly glance over to Serena, whose eyes are hidden underneath her honey-blonde locks.
"Is... Is that true..?" I ask, my voice shaky.
A tear slowly runs down her cheek.
"...I'm sorry... I only learned about it just recently from my father... He only just came back from his trip..."
I choke on a sob, suddenly hiding it away as I look away from her.
I turn around and run away, a single tear rolling off my face.

The Following Week

I've gotten pretty much no sleep at all for the past few days.
I haven't even bothered to keep up with this journal anymore.
The last time I wrote in here was that day.
I just stopped writing in here after that day.
I honestly don't care anymore, either.
I went on with my lectures as usual.
Just the usual.
Every time I saw her on campus, I just turned around and walked away.
I guess this is what it feels like to get stabbed in the heart.
As I exit my afternoon lecture, a voice calls my name.
"Ash!"
I turn around to meet her bloodshot cerulean eyes.
I stared at her silently, my eyes empty.
"I'm sorry... Really I am. Ash, just please... talk to me... I can't take this silence..." She says, a tear running down her cheek.
You should have told me...
Before you snapped my heart in two.
Without a word, I picked up my bag again and silently walked passed her.
Without looking back, I continued my way to the dorms.
The sky is grey...
The lake is grey...
I see everything in monotone grey.

Wew! I got the first chapter of 2018 published!
But omgggg I'm super duper sorry for the late publish!!!
I had a ton of midterms to study for and I couldn't keep up my writing!
I am super duper sorry!
And this chapter might be super duper rushed because I wrote this all in an hour!
I didn't want to make you all wait any longer than I have!
Also, apparently I'm going to write two books from now on.

I have a question for you all as well.
Would you like me to spend more time on his book for faster updates on My Everything?
Or would you want me to balance it out and keep working hard on this book?
I don't wanna keep working hard on this book if no one is really enjoying it.
(Watch as I get a karate chop to the head for being negative xD)
