Starbucks

Russell

I was working overtime at Starbucks today when she stepped in. This girl was dressed in black vans and black ripped jeans with a navy blue shirt and an oversized denim sweater.

She had caramel skin and her hair was braided in small extension streaks. She was carrying a book as she walked to the counter.

"Hey can I please order an Iced Chocolate Mocha Coffee?" She placed her order asking Linda, the waitress that I worked with.  This girls voice was soft and velvety like the red roses in the garden.

As soon as she got her order she walked to sit in the back tables and got out her book as started flipping through the pages. She sipped her coffee in royal style like she owned it.

She read the book in deep concentration and I saw her lips curl slightly from what was she was reading. Most people wouldn't be reading in Starbucks, they'd be snapping pictures on Snapchat and girls would be flirting with boys who looked twice older than their age.

I've never seen a black girl like her this interesting. Her golden skin glowed from the Starbucks light and made her look like an angel.  I am a white boy but I instantly knew she was different.

"You've been a stature for a straight 10 minutes." Linda whispered deeply in my ear.

I jerked away and cursed lightly. "Don't do that. You don't want me fainting here." I warned her as she giggled.

"She caught your attention..."she replied giving me a wink.

I shrug then add milk to the cuppacino coffee for the impatient customer demanding a strong auroma of coffee.

"She doesn't look like your type." She blurted.

"Don't stick your noise where it doesn't belong." I told her, giving her a pointed look.

She chuckled then her eyes widened. "Speaking of the devil Colleen and her clones."she sniggers.

I look to where she's staring  at and see my girlfriend and her clones walk in wearing pink summer dressers.

Bummer.

Thank you for reading.
