The pair were now located on the top of the highest building far away from the incident just a while ago. Alex was peeking over from the ledge into the smoke-rising scene as news helicopters and the police got in there locking the place tight
Lucy was now combing her hair free from blood and whatever else sticking to it. She was fully conscious of herself now looking at the bad she has done. Still she kept her gaze focused on the worn out pants and shoes of her
'Dammit! I really lost my shit back there! I'm sorry Alex for being a bitch...' She scolded to herself rubbing off her hands from the blood and remembering the trance she was in.
Now looking at where Alex was sitting she looked at his crouching figure. Why the hell where they watching the incident they had caused not so long ago she did not know.
The prototype saw the site begin to flood with authorities. He was being paranoid expecting a black helicopter or something similar that could be after him like blackwatch. Or something coming after her
"What's wrong?" She asked quietly seeing Alex hold a hand behind him switching back and forth between his hand and into... The hell is that?
"Hmm?" He asked until noticing the flicking tendrils of his "Oh just watching here for possible hunters or... Certain friends I have watching my back"
Lucy nodded understanding his behavior with a shinning overgoing her eyes like water showing the killer. So he too was followed...
The area became flooded with more cops and the surprising media, which Alex found quite weird in their interference with such a murder scene "No government or mysterious aircrafts/vehicles so we can go now" Alex said now standing with relaxation. However he took the shortest side step before he had to look back to the scene over the edge "But... I gotta make sure. I'll be back. Here"
He walked to her searching inside his pocket, taking out a bandage to hand over to her "Heal the injuries. I'm sorry I had to use Hammerfists to stop you." He said taking a bang out of her face swiping blood of her cheek. At first his motive was to remove the blood and cure the opened cut in her forehead that was now lessening but due to her previous injured state and the image of seeing her torture state he just wanted to heal Lucy quickly. Rolling the bandage out, the diclonius lost the sharpened eyes to sit up and curious look with a cute mili-second pause. Those big eyes and appealing lips caught Alex in a bind looking straight at that angelical face (even though it proved to be of demonic slaughter capabilities). He couldn't move for some reason in that moment looking at the beauty of her face, even Lucy began to blush noticing a stunned look in his face feeling the linger of his hand and continous look to her eyes
"Wha-what are you doing!?" She said a little alarmed at the sudden touch 'Stupid don't voice crack!' Lucy scolded herself looking away from him feeling off character ashamely.
Alex shook his head and rolled a bandage over her head making her head tip dow wards helping him roll the bandage while covering Lucy's small blush "Sorry its just... How can such a innocent, pure, and cute face-"
She bit on her lip and wished to just vanished from sight. This was embarrassing to her beyond anything she could handle and being this close also made it weird that her stomach felt unsettled but very very good to the point she wanted to feel that again
"-Gut, kill, and overall dismember a group of humans in such a short time? Even I must admit that it came to me like a shock!" Alex said finishing up
"Oh that" Lucy sighed gaining back regret from the incident
"Don't matter though. I'll just help you attain human... Interaction back without the need of blood." He patted her head and stood up to look at the crowding place "Wait for me and hide" he said giving a wink to Lucy
She nodded as Alex just did a backflip and glided to the air to dive quickly out of air sight. Stepping on a roof he didn't lose speed to begin running on top of them without getting attention. Three Helicopters were present still filming the scene from afar while the site was filled around the borders with people and the annoying media trying to get into the scene
Alex slid on the last roof closest to the site and hanged from one hand to drop casually into the street. The crowd now looking at the scene were desperately trying to get a look, others were coming in to see what was going on which let Alex take the perfect cover. He scooted right passed the crowd swiftly to get a look to this crime scene investigadors
Tugging his hands in his pockets and hiding his intentions, with a slouch he saw the area filled with cops, coroners, and the type that unnerved him the most: scientist. The people were screaming to get answers and demanding attention from the busy or ignorant police guarding the scene
'Need infiltration' Alex summed up as he passed to the left side of the crowd near a police officer facing the other way. When he got close enough, he flicked a soda from a undisturbed viewer into another behind the cop, working succesfully as the two he affected began to fight that took the eyes off the scene and the cop into making a semi-circle cheering for the battle away from the cop
The cop in questiom turned for the last time in his life to see the two guys fighting in the street with people around them, then Alex simply grabbed his head and crushed it one handed to finally absorb the cop in a walk-by consumption right to the crime scene
Now wearing his skin he walked to a gray haired, black suit guy reading a notepad near the dead body of one of Lucy's victims. This victim he realized was actually a casualty of his, the idiot having stood in the way of the hammerfist spikes
Alex came to him in a authoritative manner
"Sir what are you doing out of post?" The man warned seeing him too close for comfort
"Post exchange. Wanna tell me what's going on? Everyone in the district seems to have been called in for this." Alex excused his manners, circumstance being on his side placing a cop right where this one was
The man adjusted his tie as he sighed "Well I guess the word is out. This crime is just... Out there if you ask me. You see all this disaster is caused by what researchers call 'bioweapons', but looking at this mass slaughter I doubt this was all done by a goddamn virus. The land, people, and debris looks like a monster just rampaged here." The agent admitted kicking a piece of meat by his feet
Alex nodded as he prodded the mush of blood in the victim's face "You all got any leads or hints to... Whatever did this?" He asked looking back at the guy
He stepped away from Alex hiding the notepad inconspicuously 'Bastard' the prototype glared without being noticed.
"We got a hand from a military private company. You see, the air of this area is filled with residue from a biological threat in a past incident. This virus was a threat as it transformed any biological creature into a new infected organism. It was a project called Blacklight" the man revealed
He gave a glee that made Alex flashback to an old enemy of the past. One bastard that kept coming and worst yet almost suceeded in taking his power. Cross.
Alex felt the air go thin. Something was off.
The man click something in his pocket, an action Alex caught in a whim "What's the name of this company sir if I'm not asking much." He asked the last question in a killer
The man in question lifted a gun into the direction of his head. Suddenly around Alex all around him the officers and front people on the crowd lifted guns or send a message to a very familiar voice
"Ookay I'll just-"
"Blackwatch, Mercer" the man murmured as the units began to close in and the people around them backed away or ran for dear life. Alex stood in place awaiting what they would do
"Red crown, we got visual on Project Zeus" the man reported to the device under his wrist.
"Roger Alpha-Zulu. Maintain visual and engage on the target. Reinforcements on route" the voice responded
"Ah fuck." Alex said before he felt the rain of bullets storm his skin and shredding deep. This bullets tore through his skin and hurt. It hurt like if it was...
'Armor piercers!'
The wave of bullets did not stop as now the media was getting a shot of the battle. Alex turned into his own self and held strong blocking with his arms. The agents did not realize that all that firepower was nothing as Alex was now charging a full force attack
"DEVASTATOR!!!"
Alex mercer lit the place up in a fiery explosion and everyone in or out the crime scene was impaled, slashed, or send flying by the rise of spikes taller than the surrounding buildings of the urban community.
Alex jumped away and began gliding in the air. Sadly for him he was shot down by a missile... A couple of missiles that crashed him into the pavement with an explosive landing. People began running and the news reporters began to film this event
"On this day, a couple of hours after the massacre-
People are running in fear as supposed Bio-terrorists Alex mercer has-
The terrorists is now on view to the people as he was hit by an apache right on Tulsa Avenue. Alex mercer seems to be regenerating and standing up from the concrete-"
The lot of them began to annoy Alex as he stood up and looked up. Two airstrikes, 8 helicopters of different sizes now pointed to Alex "Come on! You guys got faster and now can attack public areas! Welp..."
He whipped his body aside and engaged into combat by hooking himself to a helicopter into his whipfist. The recoil carried him upwards right into the helicopter
"Mayday! Mayday! Tango 1-3 unable to move. Target IS-"
In a swing he twirled sideways and right above the spinning rotors Alex slashed the helicopter in two. The media remained filming the start of the battle and will be there for the finish, now broadcasting the whole thing to the news channel of each studio in California.
"The peaceful streets of this street have now turned into a complete utter warfare!
In inhuman speeds Alex Mercer has bow gone hostile! All nearby citizens evacuate Tulsa Avenue and are required-
This is beyond control for this military-
Is this the beginning of a new slaughter here on this same street?"
Landing in a knee he swiped a car with an inverse pull that lifted it to the air. A chopper tried to shoot it but too late as Alex grabbed it to over-hand throw it right for the chopper that blew up in a fiery stop
The other six choppers began to fire with all the bullets they had at their disposal straight at Alex, to their disdain however Alex turned into his armored self and tanked the bullets. A reporter got too close for comfort as Alex simply whip-grabbed him for a munch. The spectators watched in terror as the man disappeared into Alex's body like water
He jumped away as missiles raided his position killing a few civilians, heading right for another as it fired desperately. Right when Alex was about to hijack it a tank made its center stage attention by firing at the chopper that blew Alex to a building
One chopper had soldiers now repelling off of it and going to encircle Alex who was now walking to the approaching forces, from a mile afar Alex saw the emblem of Blackwatch that triggered him to activate his blade "So it's still not over. You pests will always follow me huh? Then you better get ready cause I'm-!"
His speech was cut short by an explosion. The chopper that repelled the soldiers was cut in half like a piece of paper cleanly before it exploded.
"Alex! DUCK!" A voice yelled, coming into the direction of Alex's position. The prototype ducked stancing with blade on hold behind his back as he felt his armored head pushed down by a hand. A pink vibrant hair swung over his armored sight the moment the soldiers were cut in half by a circle motion
The soldiers stayed there shocked until their guts spilled out and died on the spot. Alex deactivated his armor and came back to normal to see Lucy smiling back at him
"Having a party aren't we?" She teased, making Alex roll his eyes and groan "It was accidental. These guys are the ones after me"
The diclonius dodged a barrage of bullets aimed at her feet and succesfully cut the helicopter in two as it spun out of control to crash explosively "Then we go after them too." In a gleeful state she spoke
Alex activated his blade and scooted closer to Lucy as the remaining four helicopters were overhead, three armored pc's came into view, and soldiers (around 28) came from somewhere into the scene taking out the media (killing them) or pointing guns at the two
"Back to back!" Alex informed as he and Lucy did just that. The two now being a terrible duo to the Blackwatch troops too confident to realize the danger they were
The battle was already won clearly visible by Lucy's wide grin and Alex's serious face.
She killed a soldier by stabbing him with a vector and then tore him open to splash the rest
"LET'S GET THIS OVER!! HAHAHAHAAAA!!"
