Okay so this chapter is going to be a little different... this whole chapter will only consist of texts, phone calls, and FaceTime calls of all either the cutest moments I can think of or just important conversations they will have. It'll sort of be in third person and there will only be minimal description for the FaceTime calls and the occasional texts. The texts will be represented with Ross on the left in regular font and Laura on the right underlined. For FaceTime calls and phone calls, Ross' dialogue will be in regular font (along with the time in Cali) and lauras will be underlined (along with the time in Atlanta). Okay, that's all I have for you and I hope you don't absolutely hate this chapter... it just takes place over the whole month Laura is gone.

After the meeting I had to do a quick table read for a
few different scenes and it just ended up being way too
late for me to actually stay up and keep a conversation.
I start filming in a few hours and I know for a fact it's

"Well shit, bean." Ross breathes out. "Is Atlanta good?"
"For the less than twenty-four hour dive been here it's been good. I haven't done anything besides going from set to the hotel, back to set and then to the trailers and stuff."
"Is it fun?"
"Is that even a question?"
"Guess what my mom is going to go pick up in a few days."
"Am I actually going to be able to guess it?"
"No, probably not." Laura laughs at Ross' words. "She's buying a girl French bulldog puppy and naming her Velvet."
"Aw oh my gosh!!! That's so freaking exciting and such a cute name! I love her already."
"Bean, you won't even see her for like, a month."
"That doesn't mean I won't love her now. You better send me a ton of pictures."
"Yeah yeah, I know. I'll even let you see her over FaceTime."

"Hmm... not a bad reason to wake up early."
"Oh shit, Ross. The three hour time difference slipped my mind. I just... I'm a little bored and thought maybe we could talk. And obviously seven is still considered early, but I figured you'd get over that quickly, but four? I'm sorry."
"Well I mean, I guess getting up at four thirty means I won't stay up late tonight, right?"
"Unless you take a nap or fall back asleep once I hang up."
"It's okay, bean. You don't have to feel all guilty."
"How do you know I'm guilty?"
"I can hear it in your voice. And obviously I know you well enough by now to notice things like that."
"That's true. How's Velvet? The pictures you sent me yesterday were the cutest things I have ever witnessed in my life."
"She's adorable. Everyone's all over her and Vader got a little jealous. How's shooting?"
"Great, really tiring, but still great. I've gotten back to the hotel past midnight every night since day one. I hope we run out of night scenes to shoot quickly or else at this rate, I won't get any sleep."
"What time did you get back last night?"
"Just past two in the morning."
"Well shit. Did you even sleep?"
"No, I took a bath and then played some music on my phone. Next thing I know I'm sitting up in bed and calling you."
"Why don't we FaceTime?"
"I didn't think you'd want to. We FaceTimed last night before my night shoot and just figured we'd be good for a day or two."
"I'm hanging up and FaceTiming you... There's that beautiful face."

"You look tired."

"What time do you need to be on set?"
"A half hour. I need to shower, though."
"Ooo, I'd like to see that."

"Bean, I still don't understand how you deal with this crazy film schedule. Filming My Friend Dahmer and Status Update was nowhere near as hectic as yours."
"It's only hectic because I have to be in Mexico in seven days. If I didn't have to be there for the few shows, I'd most likely be here until mid almost late August. I have no idea how they're making it way less than a month filming for me. I'm the main character, yet they started in a week before me to film the very few scenes I wasn't in. I might have to come back after Mexico and stay a few more days."
"What about our Oklahoma show?" He asks.
"I'm already flying out a day later than you guys because I have a photoshoot the day before."
"So your not flying down a day before the actual show?"
"Nope, I'm flying early in the morning on the day of the show. Which means I need to fly home either the seventeenth or the eighteenth because I think they're keeping me until the morning of the eighteenth, then I do my photoshoot and fly over to you guys on the nineteenth and hopefully make it before we even have soundcheck that way I'm not late. Meaning my flight will have to be at like ten or something."
"Then do you fly directly back to Atlanta?"
"Yeah, if we don't finish."
"Damn."
"I know, it's freaking crazy. I haven't slept more than two hours a night this whole week. And it doesn't helps that I don't have you and that the only sweatshirt I brought to cuddle with and wear now smells like me, not you."
"Do you want me to fly down?"
"You can't. You and Rocky have to finish up the single and I know you're planning on stuff for Rydel's birthday. And I'm fine, I'm just being a baby and I need to suck it up. I'm out in the real world and if Vanni can handle it, so can I. Her and Riker have gone through way worse with this damn distance."
"You positive you're okay?"
"Yeah, I'm good."

"I don't have to be back onset until ten tonight. It's another late shoot."

"Three days until we're together."
"And then we'll be together for three whole days before I have to fly back to Atlanta."
"They finally told you they needed more time?"
"Yup. I'm staying until the eighteenth."
"Well, at least once the Oklahoma show is done then we're together again."
"Yeah after that, the only thing I have planned is attending that dinner for Nina Dobrev. I finally got the invitation and my mom emailed me the photo of it."
"You can't bring a plus one?"
"Sadly no."
"Has Rocky sent you the song we chose for our single?"
"Isn't it Jungle Funk?"
"It's called Hurts Good, now. Wanna hear it? We completely changed the bridge and added a intense beat drop"
"Yes please."
"Alright one second I have to find it on my laptop... ready?"
"Oh my god! You sound so good!"
"Shhh, you need to hear the whole thing, bean."
"The maracas sounds so cool! How are we going to do this live? The best drop is... insane. Babe! Take the pain I get from you! My headach-" Ross pauses the song.
"Laura Renae Ratliff, shut the hell up and listen to the rest of the song." He says, scolding her through the phone screens. She gives him a guilty smile in return.
"Okay."
"There, didn't you enjoy that much more than talking along through the entire song?"
"Babe, I knew most the song already. Unlike your sister, I actually enjoy sitting in on some writing sessions."
"And that's why you're my girl."
"You bet I am."
"The release date is sometime in September, I think."
"Why so far away?"
"We're gonna film a music video first."
"Oh, alrighty then. Is there anything else I should be aware of?"
"Actually there is. Marc made it official on the whole France thing happening at the beginning of September."
"That's cool!"
"It is, but I've been talking to dad and Rocky and Well, my dad wants to kinda explore some things and Rocky wants to tag along to get some writing inspiration and have a good time. So the three of us are leaving on the first."
"Okay... why do you seam so sad?"
"I'm not sad, I'm excited to go and see some cool movies at the festival, but you guys won't fly down until like the eleventh or twelfth."
"Meaning you and I will be apart again."
"Exactly."
"Well, that's fine. It's only twelve days, we've just gone fourteen right now, os everything's good. Plus, after that, we'll be touring Europe and being together every single second of every single day. We may as well spend time apart so we don't get sick and tired of each other."
"We won't get tired of each other. We'll have a hotel room a majority of the time. Alone."
"Mmm, there's still a chance that all I'll be doing in that room is sleeping."

"Hey, you've reached Ross Lynch. I'm sorry I couldn't pick up your call, but if you leave me a message I'll try and get back to you as soon as I can."
"Ro-Ross... pick u-up."
"Hey, you've reached Ross Lynch. I'm sorry I couldn't pick up your call, but if you leave me a message I'll try and get back to you as soon as I can."
"Ross!! I need yo-you."
"Jesus, bean. I actually went to bed early for once only to get woken up by my phone ringing three different-why are you sniffling?"
"I-I... breathing is o-off and I... my-"
"Hey hey, calm done alright? I'm gonna hang up and FaceTime you immediately, okay? I want you to turn on a lamp or just be in the light so I can see you. Is that okay?"
"Hu-hurry..
"I will. I'm hanging up now... see? Took me a minute to FaceTime you... take deep breaths, bean. In and out. In and out... just like that, you're doing great."
"I... it's not-"
"Hey, you don't need to talk right now, alright? Concentrate of breathing. Close your eyes-"
"No, Ross! I can-can't close my ey-eyes! Tha-That's why I'm in this me-mess-"
"Whoa whoa, slow down your breathing you're about to have a full on panic attack, Laura... in and out, bean. In... and out. Look at my face, look at my eyes or lips, focus on one thing and breath in... and out. Just like that, in... and out."
"I'm sorry for ca-calling you so late."
"Doesn't matter, don't worry about it. You okay now?" She nods her head. "Cuddle into your pillow and make sure I can still see you." She cuddles into an extra pillow and keeps Ross close to her face, her obvious red eyes and blotchy cheeks shining bright in the light and letting him know she was crying. "What happened?"
"Do you kn-know what sleep paralysis i-is?"
"Um... kinda? Isn't it like, when you're asleep but sorta not and you hear things?"
"More or less." She whispers. "You're body's asleep but your minds not, and-and I guess it tries to play tricks on you be-because you can see and hear things that aren't actually there." Her voice was rough and dry, making Ross frown as she tried to say every word as normal as she could.
"Okay... is that what happened to you?" All of a sudden, Laura nods her head and squeezes her eyes shut as she begins to sob quietly, not wanting to relive what just happened to her less than ten minutes ago. "Bean, Hey, don't cry-"
"It wa-was so scary I-I thought... sha-shadows were arou-around me and deadly voi-voices saying crappy wor-words to me and I could-couldn't move!" She sniffles, not being able to control her tears as she sobs again, a little louder than when she started. "I tri-tried so hard to-to stop them but no-noth-nothing happened! I cou-I couldn't move!"
"It's over, bean. It's over, the scary voices and the shadows are gone. They weren't real, nothing was real when you heard those things and saw them." Laura continued to sob, causing Ross' heart to break with every little whimper. "Bean, I can find a ticket for the next flight down there, I'd be there before lunch."
"Your-you're flying to Mexico today. You can-can't come."
"I could fly down now and then fly to Mexico with you tomorrow." Laura shakes her head.
"No, no I'm f-fine."
"Bean, no-"
"Bean, yes." Ross sighs.
"But why? You're crying because you basically had another night terror and you're telling me to not come? Are you insane?"
"I'm actually star-starting to think I am."
"I'm flying down as soon as I can-"
"Ross, please don't. I'll see you tom-tomorrow. I just won't sleep until I se-see you."
"Bean, that's ridiculous."
"Can you sing to me?"
"I thought you weren't going to go back to bed?"
"I love your voice."
"Go start a bath, bean. I'll sing to you once you're relaxed."
"You promise?"
"I promise."
"Okay, you're coming with me."
"I would hope so."
"Thanks." She says, walking into the bathroom. Quickly, she starts up the hot water and plugs the drain, letting it fill up a quarter way before stripping down into nothing, actually letting Ross watch the entire thing. As much as his heart was breaking for her, he couldn't help but get turned on the slightest. She settles into the water after thing her hair up, holding her phone up so he could see her face as the water kept filling the tub.
"Just relax." He says, quite lucky so she could hear him over the running water. For the remainder of the time it took to fill the bath, she fiddled with the knobs to make it a bit hotter. Once she shut it off, Ross spoke up. "What song do you want me to sing?"
"Something soft." She whispers.
"Alright."
