a/n: before I begin, FINALS ARE THIS WEEK. so, this means that there will be a chapter today but, there will not be one the next few days & im seeing the new Star Wars movie so I'll be staying off wattpad (possibly, we'll see) to avoid spoilers. & sorry for making the title so long. alright, enjoy :)
Nothing beats bringing in the Christmas season than wearing the ugliest Christmas sweater you could possibly buy in the stores.
Usually, shops advertised the cuter clothes that you occasionally bought but Christmas party themes were usually ugly Christmas sweaters and you loved the idea.
Especially since your best friend, and also your crush, was hosting an ugly Christmas sweater party this year.

"Mom, I'm leaving for Will's party!" You yelled, and she was busy making cookies and frosting them in the kitchen.
The sound of 'Jingle Bell Rock' wafted throughout the house and your dad watched a game that was happening real time.
"Alright! Have fun and be back home by 9:00!"
You slipped on your black boots over your Christmas socks and leggings and readjusting the ugly Christmas sweater you wore.
It had bows, bright red ribbons, small cat heads that wore Christmas hats, and multiple other small things like Christmas trees and lights that actually worked on the sweater.
The small amount of snow blew into your hair as soon as you stepped out into the frozen air, you beginning to walk to the Byer's household.
It was very close, considering you two were neighbors and you only had to walk through the woods to get there.
Only a few minutes after sliding past thorns and pine needles poking your arms and legs, you saw the lights on in the house and two kids walking up to the front door.
You took a deep breath and quickly walked to where they were headed, desperate to get out of the cold.
"Nice Christmas sweater, ___!" Max yelled from her brother's car, Billy speeding off as soon as she shut the door.
She quickly met up with you and you both followed the two kids inside, the smell of cookies and other varieties of snacks wafting to your noses immediately.
"Thanks! Yours is nice too!" You commented on Max's sweater that had cats leading Santa's sleigh instead of reindeer.
"___! Max! You guys made it!" Will said, coming up to both of you with a drink in his hand.
"I wouldn't miss it for the world!" You exclaimed, the excitement practically dripping off your tongue.
He gave a shy smile to you and watched as Max headed over to Dustin and Lucas who were talking about the different Christmas decorations the Byer's had recently gotten.
"Nice sweater." You commented.
Will looked down to see what all was on it. "Thanks, I found it at-"
He suddenly realized what you meant. As soon as you nodded, you both laughed together. "Oh my God! That's crazy!"
You rolled your eyes, a smile painting your lips. "Will Byers stealing my cute ideas again, huh?"
He looked taken aback. "When did I ever take any of your other ideas!"
"Halloween." You reminded him.
You both had shown up to the Wheeler's house wearing the same Chewbacca sweater and laughed at the incident.
He shrugged. "Great minds think alike."
"That, they do, Byers."
The next few minutes were filled by Christmas music before Joyce came out to get Will away from the crowd and talk to him. Probably about the episodes he's been having.
You sighed, walking over to where the group you hung out with were standing around, talking in a circle.
"Hey, guys."
"Well, well, well. Will's crush did show up!" Lucas said, laughing slightly while you gave him a confusing look.
"What?"
Mike immediately stepped in. "It's nothing to worry about, ___."
You nodded, looking down towards the ground. "Alright."

The music had died down, most of the guests had left except for you, Dustin, and Mike, and the food was nearly gone.
A yawn escaped your lips as Will turned towards you and smiled. You ignored it but there was a small flame of excitement burning in your chest.
Mike stood up. "Well, Dustin and I better get going. Have fun you two."
"But not too much fun." Dustin added on, Mike's elbow jabbing him in the chest immediately afterwards.
"What?" He shrugged.
Both of you laughed, your head laying back on the couch that Joyce had first spent time with Will on.
"They're right. It's getting pretty late, so I should get home soon. Plus, my mom said I should be home by 9:00."
You stood up, pulling Will into a hug and holding it for a second before letting go and walking towards the front door.
"___, wait!"
You turned around, hand still around the doorknob, as you felt his lips press against yours softly. He let go first as you smiled.
"Merry Christmas, sweater buddy."
You smiled.
"Merry Christmas, Byers."
