In the midst of the cold fall morning, and the scattering of scarlet and golden leaves that moved with the wind, two small figures could be seen pedaling down the streets of Hawkins, Indiana. The harsh wind took desperate shots at the tired girl's raw cheeks, making them pulse as they brighten to a vibrant red hue.

"Why do you have to be such a loser?"

The blonde teen slowed her pedal work as she looked over her shoulder, and glared at the owner of the rude statement, before waiting for the 13 year old to catch up. Lucas Tyrell caught up with his older sister, and the two siblings continued to ride next to each-other.

"I'm not a loser." Sully huffed out, "In fact, I like to think that I'm pretty cool."

"You're a junior in high school, and you still don't have your license. I wouldn't say that's cool." Lucas sassed his older sister.

Sending the curly haired boy a nasty look, Sully glanced at her younger brother with a hint of irritation as everyone knew that the girl's lack of a driver license, was a touchy subject.

Sully Tyrell thought she was an amazing driver.

She felt confident going into the DMV to take her leaner's test, having to stay up for hours the previous night studying on her road signs and the rules of yielding, it was no surprise that she passed with flying colors. However, Sully did not prepare for the driving portion of the test, nor did she even think that she would have to partake in it. Her father taught her to drive on his days off from work seeing as she was the eldest child, and for someone to get their license was a right of passage. When Sully thinks about the lessons she shared with her father, the blonde wondered if the lovable man set her up for failure, that way, she could still rely on him for something and not have complete, parental-free, freedom.

While her father had been gentle with her, and soothing with every lesson, waving off her mistake with a smile, her driving instructor yelled, shouted and boomed, and that was only from the little mistakes she made, such as forgetting to use her blinkers when turning or pressing the brakes a second too late when seeing a stop sign. As the test continued, the pressure she felt to pass increased, and that had been her downfall. Not being able to handle the pressure, Sully ended up running a red light, took up two lanes, and almost ran over a dog before moving out the way, hitting a parked car.

Now, not only was she scared to drive again, but the whole school knew about her incident because of Steve Harrington and his big mouth, birthing her uncreative nickname, 'America's Spazzheart'.

"Shut up." She muttered with a hint of embarrassment.

"I still can't believe mom is making me do this. You, I understand, but me? It's not fair if you ask me?" Lucas blew the air out of his cheeks in hopes of keeping himself warm.

Sully rolled her eyes, tired of hearing the same thing every day, "Because the middle school is literally right next to the high school, so if mom drops you off, that means she would have to drop me off, and she's trying to send me a message. 'Stop being a wuss, and get my license'."

"Well, then Sully," Lucas solemnly breathed out, turning to his older sister as the two pulled up into the conjoined parking lot, "Stop being a wuss, and get your license's." He repeated after her, annoying the older teen.

"Maybe, I'm not being a wuss. Maybe, I just don't want my license, I mean... I can have people drive me around, I don't have to be the one that drives people around. I could be a leech! No responsibility." She singed in victory, closing the argument with confidence.

"And no freedom. You car-less, loser." He finished off, before pedaling off towards his group of friends.

"Ouch." She heard someone voice from behind.

Sully turned around to see her best friend since elementary school, Meghan, standing there with an amused expression on her face. "Is he still whining about you not having a license?" The dark-haired beauty questioned as she opened the back of her jeep for her friend.

"What else is new?" Sully huffed as she struggled to lift her bike inside the car. She thought that by now, she would have the strength to do this with ease seeing this was a daily routine between the two friends due to the lack of trust Sully has over the school's bike racks.

"I don't understand why you don't want me to pick you up in the mornings? That way you won't have to ride your bike in the cold." Meghan shot her friend a fake pout, but even with the false expression, she meant the words that came from her mouth.

"I'm out of the way. It's not fair for you to waste all your gas on me. It's called being a thoughtful friend, Meg. You should thank me." The doe-eyed teen hummed out, before giving a high victory yelp as she managed to place her bike smoothly in the jeep. "I think I'm getting the hang of this!"

"You better have that same attitude when you end up catching pneumonia from being out in the cold every morning and you ask me why I never offer you a ride. You remember this?" The dark-skin girl wiggled her finger tauntingly at her friend, before making her way into the school.

Sully stayed behind and enviously watched as her friend walked across the parking lot, confidence radiating off of her and surrounding her body with a gentle, yet bright glow.

Meghan Sinclair was not dating someone popular or rich, nor was she on any extra-curricular teams, but she was still queen of the school. At this day and age, many strive to fit in with the high social standards of Hawkins High; but Meghan was one of the role models that many try to follow, and use as an example to be like. The blonde obnoxiously snorted as many students parted ways for the stylish girl, and stare at her with awe causing Sully to smile like a proud mother, at how far her friend had come since they first met, as she puffed out her chest with a bright smile, 'That's my best friend'.

Sully then realized that she was about to be left behind, and ran after her friend when she rammed right into a strong body. The basketball player's large body mass exceeded her own, making Sully's small body slam on to the ground, thankfully in an area covered with dirt and grass.

This caused a ripple of events, starting with the basketball player to loose his grip on his ball, making it soar across the parking lot, hitting the hood of Steve Harrington's car.

The heavily populated parking lot became quiet as they watched everything unfold right before their eyes.

Steve, who had been peacefully sitting in his car, with his girlfriend in the passenger seat, rolled down his window and shouted at his teammate for possibly denting his car. While the rich male continued to express his anger, the basketball continued to roll down the unevenly paved lot, and rolled to its next target.

Tina, who chose to ignore the scene, walked towards the school with her friends by her side, when the basketball sped towards her. The dark haired girl noticed last minute and jumped over the orange ball, only to have her knees buckle from the sudden pressure, making her to fall on to the concrete ground.

After seeing what happened with Steve, and Tina, people began to carefully move away from the jinxed ball when it came their way, lightly kicking it far from them, when it was directed towards a sleek, navy Camaro.

Everyone watched in silence, and awe, as the male leaned over to pick up the cursed ball and hook it under his arm before perching against his car. Carol, along with some other girls who took it upon themselves to introduce themselves to the new boy, looked at Billy with wide eyes before upping the male's 'attractive' points as he dared to touch the cursed item with no hesitation.

At the sight of the ball being caught, everyone released the breath they had been holding in, before making their way inside the building, tossing the blonde girl a few looks as they passed her. As the parking lot began to decrease in size, Billy tossed the basketball back to its owner, receiving a respected nod. The blue-eyed male then pulled out a cigarette, placing it in his mouth and was pleased when Carol suddenly brought out her lighter and lit the stick for him.

Nodding his head to whatever the girls that surrounded him were saying, Billy's eyes scanned the lot when a pair of tan legs caught his attention. His eyes slowly traveled up the girl's body, and hummed in approval at the sight of the female's mature, and attractive face.

"Who's that?" He nodded his head towards the girl who increased her pace when walking into the parking lot.

Carol took the liberty of answering, "That's Meghan. Meghan Sinclair."

Billy nodded, taking a hit of his cigarette as he a ran his eyes over the girl for a few more seconds.

Meghan, not sensing the dark set of eyes, ran up to her friend and crouched down to meet the eyes of her bright eyed friend, who wore a wounded expression on her face.

"Did you see that?" Sully winced as the recent chain of events ran through her head.

Meghan held her hand out to Sully, her face saying everything the blonde needed to hear but she gratefully took the hand and pulled herself off the ground.

Throwing the leftover bud onto the ground, Billy blew out the smoke in a seductive way that got all the girl's fanning themselves.

"And who's that?" He nodded his head towards the two friends.

Carol, along with the others, turn around just in time to see Sully using Meghan as leverage to lift herself up, only to somehow mess herself up by letting go of Meghan's hand too soon and pitifully falling back onto the ground.

"That's Sully Tyrell." One of the girls rushed to answer, stealing the spotlight from Carol, for only a second before the red-head snatched it back.

"Or as everyone likes to call her, 'America's Spazzheart.'" Carol snickered, peaking Billy's interest.

Sending the girl an intrigued smile, Billy raised his dark eyebrows at this, "Now, why's that?"

"Because she's such a spazz, but she's alway really sweet, and means well."

This reply released something in Carol. Something Billy was interested in seeing, as he watch the girl turn red as she furiously tossed her friend an irritated glare. For some odd reason, the red head hated everything about the blonde, so she took it upon herself to make up a new, and hurtful nicknames for whenever the blonde messes up, which was a daily occurrence.

"She's a spastic klutz who has horrible luck, and passes it on to everyone. She's contagious, and dangerous." Carol huffed out.

Billy watched at the young blonde stand up and began to make random gestures towards her pants, before waving her arms around like a lunatic before making her way into the building with an amused Meghan by her side.

As he watch Sully awkwardly make her way into the school's building, the self-acclaimed bad boy had no idea how someone like her could be considered dangerous.
