People on Wattpad are desperate. Really desperate.
We're all the kind of people who would glare at a phone for hours on end, waiting for that special someone to finally call (Seriously, call already!).
That being said, as desperate as you are, you should never, ever share votes.
Sharing votes is one of those things that are not only illegal but do nothing for you.
Let's do a quick definition check for "vote sharing".
Vote sharing: The act of pestering people to vote for your work and, as payment for the effort they spent pressing that little star button and completely ignoring the actual writing, you do the exact same thing for their work. Thus perpetuating a culture of "who cares what or how you write as long as you vote for my masterpiece"!
When you read and vote on a work for the sake of gaining the votes, you are doing nothing good. Why? Because stories that actually are good and deserve votes are undervalued and don't get the recognition they deserve. Which pisses a whole lot of good authors right off.
Not only that, but it undervalues your own work because the votes you just gained mean nothing and don't change your standing (because everyone else is doing it too!). Therefore, you have to get even more votes to move up your ranking. Way to shoot yourself in the foot.
Did I also mention that it's "illegal" on Wattpad?
As Admiral Ackbar said, "It's a trap!"
So avoid it. And don't vote share.
