Based n his expression, he must have learned about the deal already. I swear I can dark smike coming out of his nose and ears and there's a deathly glint in his eyes that I'm seeing for the first time ever since I met him. He stomped towards the bed, where I'm sitting on after kicking his way in inside my room, like raging bull.
"She told you." I stated like it's no nig deal.
"Of course she told me. I'm her fucking boyfriend!!" He answered harshly as he grabbed the collar of my shirt. "What the fuck we're you thinking?"
"It's just a date man."
I shouldn't have opened my mouth. Not when he's like this. A volcano about to erupt. And he did. I went down on the floor with just one punch on the jaw from him.
"Why now? Why make a move now?" He asked, his eyes still shaking with fury, his whole body actually. I swiped the blood from the corner of mouth with the back of my hand and stood up next to him. Invading his personal space.
"I saw an opportunity and I took it. She..." my throat tightened up. "...I just want to spend a day with her."
I thought for a second that he's going to punch me again but he didn't.
"So it's confirmed. You still have feelings for her." It came out not as as question but as a statement from him. "You once told me that you have no intention of courting her."
And I meant that when I said it. But the more I get closer to her the more I wanted her for myself. Impossible, I know, since she only has her sights at my bestfriend and she's not even aware that I have feelings for her. Boohoo for me, I thought bitterly.
"I'm not going to give her up. You know that Edge. Not even for you." After saying that, he walked out of the room.
Tch! Of course I know that. I'm fucking fully aware of that. And I know for a fact as well that even if you let her go, she won't go running to me and that's the part that hurts the most. But even so, call me a masochist if you may, I'd still want to have her for myself. Her attention solely at me. Even for just a day. Even for just a couple of hours.
I dropped to the bed feeling pathetic for myself.
Damn it you little she-witch! You shouldn't have bewitched me like this.
It's killing me.
= Irvine's POV =
I somewhat know that it would come to this. Kaya nga nag-alangan akong sabihin kay Mine na siya na ang kuma-usap kay Edge. Dapat pala binaraso ko na lang ang gago! Tch! That guy! I glared at the direction of his room. Masyado akong naging kampante na wala siyang gagawing step towards Mine. And now he did this.
Anong sinabi niya? He saw an opportunity and he grabbed it? Tangnang gago yun!
Nagtuloy ako sa kuwarto at nagdirediretso sa sariling banyo. Binuksan ang gripo at tumapat sa shower. Naligo ng naka-damit. Magpapalamig lang ng ulo. Kapag hindi baka sugudin ko ulit sa kuwarto niya si Edge at baka hindi lang suntok ang abutin sa'kin ng gago.
ARGH!!!
The cold water is not helping me calm down.
Pinatay ko na ang gripo at lumabas ng kuwarto, nagpunta sa bedside table kung saan nakapatong ang cellphone. I speed dialled her number. Water pooled at my feet while waiting for her to pick up the call.
"Mine?" was her greeting and I immediately cooled down after hearing her throaty voice. Sabi na nga ba, I only need to hear her voice para kumalma.
"Nagising ba kita?"
May kumaluskos sa kabilang linya.
"Kinda. Nag-aagaw pa lang ako. What's up? Nagbago ba isip ni Edge?"
I sighed and walked towards the veranda. "Nope. He'll do the gig." I sighed again. "And the date."
Silence.
"Are you mad at me Mine?" tanong niya at agad akong napadiretso ng tayo.
"Nope. What made you ask?"
"Kasi pumayag ako dun sa deal....?"
"I assure you Mine, I'm not mad at you. Medyo asar lang ako kay Edge for taking advantage of the situation. Hindi na siya dapat humingi ng kapalit. But don't worry, we already talked. It's just a date. At the end of the day. You're still mine."
Another silence.
"Mine?" untag ko sa kanya.
"Possessive much?" sagot niya pero hindi naman galit ang tono. More of, nang-aasar. But for sure, she's blushing again. Sayang. I can't see her face.
"Not really. I just stated a fact. Plus. I would'nt agree to the deal that you two made kung possessive much ako."
"PAYAG KA NA?"
"Yes." Sabi ko naman na susuportahan ko ang kahit anong gustuhin niya. Anything that would make her happy. And hearing her say thank you repeatedly on the other line made me smile and it made me feel even better.
Kinabukasan...
Nagkita-kita ulit kami sa tambayan, sa SCR. Yung gago ko kasing tatay, ayaw pa ipagawa yung Cottage namin. Sa SCR na lang daw kami para pwede siya mag-eavesdrop sa usapan ng gang anytime. Kasi nga katabi ng SCR yung principal's office. Walang magawa ang gagong yun! Hindi pa sumunod kay Mom sa Ireland. Doon naman kasi maghahasik ng lagim ang isang yun.
Sinundo ko si Mine sa classroom niya at sabay kaming nagpunta dito sa SCR. Routine na. Andoon na yung iba ng dumating kami. Pati si Rose at Aira. Sila ang naghahanda ng pagkain. Agad naman silang nilapitan ni Mine at tinulungan. Nagpabalik-balik mula sa kitchen na kadugtong ng principal's office at sa main room kung saan nagpalagay ako ng dining set para komportableng kumain.
Naupo na ako sa couch na lagi kong inuupuan. Napatingin kay Edge na katapatan ko. Tumango siya sa'kin at ginantihan ko din ng tango. Okay na kami. Already in speaking terms. Pansin ko lang si Yoh, busy na naman sa hawak na psp. Nagte-Tekken na naman malamang. Si Mike, busy sa phone, may katext ang gago. Minsan bubulong-bulong na 'sadista talaga' o kaya 'ice princess talaga'. Tch! Naluko na.
"IV..." tawag sa'kin ni Tres, nilingon ko siya at inabot naman niya sa'kin ang isang red envelope. Napansin ko agad ang seal, HC, pero hindi na siya naka-seal, malamang tiningnan na ni Tres. Hinugot ko ang papel sa loob at binasa ito.
Tangna! Nilamukos ko ang buwiset na papel.
Anong gustong ipamukha ng gagong yun?!
Bakit doon pa?!!
Inimbitahan lang naman kami ng gagong Nicholas Del Monte na yun sa isang showdown. Porke't hindi matalo ng gang niya ang grupo namin, idadaan na lang sa showdown?! Tangnang tarantadong gagong sira-ulo!
"Anong gagawin natin?" tanong ni Tres.
"We'll let her decide. But whatever her decision's going to be. Ha-huntingin ko ang gagong yun at babasagin ang mukha!!"
Dahil sa sinabi ko at tono ng pananalita ko, napatingin sa'kin yung tatlo.
"Kuya?" tanong ni Yoh.
"What's wrong man?" si Edge yan.
"He's back?" si Mike. Namula ang mukha niya at mukhang balak pang durugin ang cellphone na hawak dahil sa higpit ng pagkakahawak dito.
= Yoh's POV =
Ay nakngpakshet!
Talo ako. Inaasar pa ko ng pagmumukha ni Kuma.
Si Kuya IV naman kasi, nadinig ko ng sabihin niya na '...Ha-huntingin ko ang gagong yun at babasagin ang mukha..."
Sabay-sabay pa kaming nagtanong nina Kuya Mike at Edge. Pero ano yung sabi ni Kuya Mike. He's back? Sino naman?
Inihagis ni Kuya IV yung hawak na papel na gusot na gusot kay Mike. Maingat namang tinuwid yung ni Kuya Mike, binasa at mas lalong namula ang mukha niya at kitang kita na nag-uulbukan na yung mga ugat niya. Hinablot ko yung papel bago niya pa malamukos, ng mabasa ko ito, feeling ko naman naubusan ako ng dugo. Ipinasa ko na lang kay Edge yung papel. Maiintindihan niya naman yun. English eh.
Nakngpucha!
Kaya naman pala halos pumutok na 'tong sina Kuya IV at Kuya Mike.
Ganito lang naman kasi yung sabi nung gagong sulat...
Baby Yumi,
I heard you're going to join the Battle of the Bands with your new boytoy and his friends. I'm looking forward to seeing you again and to reminisce the past that we had. I sincerely hope that you're not going to back down after reading this letter. You know what I can do. If you don't show up, I'll hunt you down and cut you up again in pieces.

Nakakakilabot ang pucha! Kita din sa mukha ni Edge ang galit tulad nina Kuya IV dahil sa nabasa. Nilamukos niya yung papel at pinagsalin-salin sa dalawang kamay.
"Is this what you're referring to earlier IV?" Tanong niya kay Kuya IV, looking him straight in the eyes. "Let her decide if she still wants to do it knowing that asshole would be there?"
"Yes."
"Are you fucking insane man! we should just drop out of that fucking show and hunt that asshole! She doesn't need to know about this!" galit niyang sabi pero medyo pabulong. Ayaw niya siguro parinig kay Ate Yumi.
"I don't want to lie to her about this matter!" sagot ni Kuya IV.
"Damn your morals! Is it more important than protecting her?!" asik naman ni Edge. Aba! Siya ang boyfriend? Kung maka-react!
"Don't question my priorities Edge. You know better than anyone that her safety is my main concern. But she needs to be aware that he's here in town. I don't want to keep her in the dark and caught by surprise if they meet up accidentally. I won't put her in that emotional turmoil. I want her to be ready and on guard when she sees that asshole!!"
Wow! Galing. Sagutan sila ng sagutan ng pagalit pero pabulong. Psh!
"I don't want him near my sister." singit ni Kuya MIke.
"I don't want that as well. But what do you suggest we do. Hide her? Until when?" I can hear the exasperation in Kuya IV's voice. May point naman siya. Hindi naman namin pwede na itago na lang si Ate Yumi sa Nick na yun.
"We'll hunt him down and teach that fucking bastard a lesson!!" si Edge. Hilig talaga ng isang 'to ang basag ulo.
"And what if they retaliate using the law?" singit ni Kuya Tres.
Tama. Kami ang magiging pihado kapag nagkataon. Malakas ang depensa nila dahil kami ang unang magbubuhat ng kamay. Hindi namin pwedeng gamitin yung sulat, sabihin pa gawa-gawa lang namin yun. I doubt that we can use the same trick Kuya Tres used on his sister.
"I'll have him killed." sabi ni Edge.
Ay gago! Gangster po tayo hindi assassins.
"Guys! Kakain na!" sigaw ni Ate Yumi from the other side of the room.
"Let's just talk later. We'll eat first then we'll decide what to do after." suhestiyon ni Kuya Tres na sinang-ayunan nina Kuya IV at Kuya Mike. Kaya no choice, kain muna.
Pero naknampucha! Nawalan ako ng gana.
= Yumi's POV =
Napahawak ako sa tiyan ko ng sabihin nila sa'kin na nakipag-contact sa knila si Nick. Feeling ko maisusuka ko lahat ng kinain ko. Kaya pala wala silang ganang kumain kanina. Dahil dun!
Wala na bang katapusan ang bangunot na 'to?

"We'll do it." Yan ang lumabas sa bibig ko sabay dilat ng mga mata.
"WHAT?!" Nangunguna na ang boses no Aira at Rose sa mga sumigaw. Iisa lang naman kasi ang reaksiyon nila.
"Are you fucking insane!?" Well, aside pala sa isang yan. Ang hilig talaga magmura nitong si Edge.
Buti pa si Mine, tahimik lang sa likod ko.
"I'd face him sooner or later di'ba? He won't stop haunting me if I'll just keep on hiding. It's just a showdown anyway. We won't lose to them. You're way way much better than them." paliwanag ko.
Tiningnan lang nila ako na parang tinubuan ako ng pangalawang ulo sa leeg.
"Are you sure about this Mine? If you're still not ready to face that bas-- guy. I'll handle him for you." bulong ulit ni Mine. Sumandal ako sa kanya.
"I want to have closure Mine. This is the only way I know how. I have to face him and move on." ganting bulong ko.
"I understand. Pero hindi ko siya palalapitin sa'yo. If he so much as touch you. I.will.kill.him."
"Ayokong makulong ka."
"Then I'll have him killed."
Napangiti tuloy ako kahit paano. Ang adik kasi. Seryoso pa siya sa mga sinasabi niya ha.
"Ganoon din yun." kontra ko.
"FIne. I'll beat him so badly that he won't be able to leave the hospital ever."
"Ang bad mo."
"Tch! He'd still be alive though. Hindi din siya makakapagsumbong kung sino ang nangbugbog sa kanya dahil sisiguraduhin ko na lantang gulay ang kalalabasan niya."
Masama bang kiligin sa pinagsasasabi ng lalaking 'to? He's talking about beating someone up pero kinikilig ako. And adik ko din lang.
"So, what's the decision Yumi?" tanong ni Tres.
"We'll accept the challenge." confident kong sagot.
"Sure ka Sissy?" Nag-aalalang tanong ni MIke. Tinanguan ko siya. Yung iba, tinanggap na lang nila ang decision ko.
Kaso nadinig ko pang bumulong si Edge. "Fucking insane!"
I might be mistaken, pero dinig ko na parang nag-growl si Mine sa likod ko. I felt his chest vibrate kasi nakasandal pa din ako sa kanya.
"What the hell is wrong with you Edge. With her decision, you'd still have your fucking date with her!!" Tapos bumulong siya. "Sorry for cussing."
Tumango lang ako kasi hindi ko alam kung paano magre-react. Nakita ko kasi na bigla na lang namula si Edge, ginamit niya nga lang yung kamay niya para itakip sa lower half ng mukha niya.
Sina Yoh, Mike, at Aira naman, kinulit si Edge. Pilit pinasasagot. Kung ano daw yung ibig sabihin ni Mine. Nang hindi na matagalan ni Edge yung inquisition, tiningnan niya ng masama si Mine tapos tumingin sa'kin with something.. ewan... tapos nag-walk out na siya. Ssaying something like may klase pa daw siya.
Anong nangyari dun?
Eto namang si Mine, tatawa-tawa sa likod ko habang lalong humihigpit ang yakap sa'kin. He even kissed my hair.
