Narrator's POV
Ever since [m/n] and Kageyama had the sleepover they began dating, since Karasuno had to go to the nationals in a week and they would be in Tokyo (I don't know if this is how it is, but for the sake of this story, that's how it's gon be... so deal) while Kageyama would be in Tokyo, [m/n] would be by himself so for the remaining days they had left they would spend as much time together, in secret, no one knows that they're dating so after their volleyball practices they would both leave and meet in the park. Normally after practices the two would stay later to practice a little bit more, but the first time they didn't stay later their teammates didn't think much of it, the second them they were like, meh, the third time they got suspicious, the fourth time they knew something was up. In Aoba Johsai they asked Tooru about it, but he said he didn't know and he would come home around 8 or 8:30. In Karasuno Hinata would question Kageyama, but he would reply with 'none of your business dumbass' and when Hinata asked for a toss, he would say he had somewhere to be. Curiosity got the best of them and on the fifth night, Aoba johsai spied on [m/n] when he left and Karasuno spied on Kageyama when he was leaving.
==========After Practice in Aoba Johsai==========
"Good job today everybody! If you're gonna stay later make sure to clean up" Tooru announced
"Hai!" [m/n] ran to the changing room and changed into the track suit, he pulled out his phone and click on Kageyama's name
[m/n]- Tobio-chan~!
Kageyama- yeah
[m/n]- I'm done changing, ready?
Kageyama- Yeah, I'll head out now
[m/n]- me too! see ya soon~ *(^0^)*
[m/n] put his phone in his pocket, slung his gym bag over his shoulders and left the changing room
"Bye guys!" he skipped out the door hearing the goodbyes of his teammates, he excitedly walked towards the school gates but little did he know that some of the players were following him, them being: Tooru, Iwaizumi, Matsukawa, Hanamakki, Kindaichi, Kunimi (forced by Kindaichi) the second years didn't want to follow cause they were to busy practicing (wanting to lead the team to victory next year)
==========Meanwhile in Karasuno=========
After texting [m/n] Kageyama placed his phone in his pockets and grabbed his gym bags and headed out
"bye" he said just loud enough to be heard by them
"Kageyama-kun! your leaving again! Come on! toss me some balls!" Hinata whined
"I'm busy!"
You say that all the time, what are you even doing!"
None of your business dumbass!"
"The king probably has some royal duties to attend to, or someone to attend to" Tsukishima taunted
"Whatever!" Kageyama stomped out and headed towards the park, he as well had no clue that some certain teammates of his followed him, them being: Daichi, Sugawara, Tanaka, Noya, Asahi (didn't want to because it was invasion of privacy, but was forced by Noya to tag along), Tsukki, Yamaguchi, Hinata.
Once Kageyama arrived the park in the spot they usually met he saw [m/n] standing there with that cute ass smile of his, he turned and saw Kageyama walking up to him with a small smile on his face.
"Tobio-chan!" he waved to him, he([m/n]) meet him half way and jumped up to hug him.
"what do you wanna do to?" Kageyama asked as [m/n] got off him
"Hmm~ let's get ice cream!"
"Ok" the two began walking to a near by store to get ice cream, little did they know that their teammates were following them, once the two entered the store, both teams met face to face.
"Seijoh!?" Hinata screeched "what are you guys doing here?!"
"Same thing your doing here chibi-chan" Tooru crossed his arms over his chest
"seems like the two have found an interest in each other" Sugawara said
"ohh, Mr. Refreshing"
"Shut up Trashykawa" Mattsun and Makki began snickering
"Refreshing?" Sugawara muttered and Daichi sweat dropped
"Do you think they're dating?" Noya question
"it's possible" Iwaizumi said "[m/n] seems to like Kageyama a lot"
"Kageyama seems to like [m/n] a lot too" everyone turned to face Kindaichi
"Turnip-kun!" Tanka yells
"What!?"
"In junior high, he only hung out with [m/n], they were really attached to each other" Kunimi finishes
"Like Iwaizumi and Oikawa" Mattsun says
"Hahhaha, when will you too start dating?" Makki adds "They're beating you at it"
"SHUT UP!" they both yell
"This would explain why Kageyama would leave in such a hurry" Daichi states
"Same with [m/n]" Iwaizumi adds
"But we can't be sure if they're actually dating" Tooru said, they looked over to see said boys at the cash register, Kageyama paying for the ice cream and [m/n] smiling very brightly. The two teams then hid in the same place, they were close enough to somewhat hear what they were talking about, but still far enough not to be spotted by the two.
"Arigato Tobio-chan!" they proceeded to walk out the door, they opened the ice cream and began enjoying the sweet and cold taste in their mouths. They walked to a bench and sat on it, the bench was right in front of the lake, on the lake were some ducks and swans, a beautiful breathtaking sight. "Ne, Tobio-chan" [m/n] called once they finished they're ice cream
"Yeah?"
"Are you nervous for the nationals? there'll be a lot of strong players, it's scary isn't it?"
"I'm more excited than nervous, besides the only person that scares me is Oikawa-san" [m/n] stared at him for a few seconds and began laughing
meanwhile...
Everyone looked at Oikawa, to see him with a shit eating grin on his face, but it was gone after Iwaizumi smacked him in the head, and the boy groaned, quietly, in pain.
"Seriously, not even Ushijima?" [m/n] chuckled
"No" he deadpanned
"Honestly, Ushijima scares the shit out of me"
"Oikawa-san is definitely the best setter in the prefecture, his talents far exceed mine and I have a long way to go before I can even reach his level let alone surpass him"
"It's true that his skills are amazing, because of him we are called a powerhouse school, but next year..." [m/n] paused
"Next year... what?" Kageyama urged him to countine, even the teams wanted him to continue, especially Oikawa
"Next year, when the third years won't be here anymore, I don't think we can be considered a powerhouse school anymore, Nii-san, like Hinata-chan calls him, is the Great King, he controls the game and is a great captain, Mattsun-senpai is a great middle blocker, in our last game he was able to think of a way to stop Hinata-chan and boosts up our defense in other games, Makki-senpai is an amazing wing spiker, he scores us a lot of points and boosts up our offense, Iwa-chan... He's a really dependable ace, his power and skill are not that far from ushijima even."
"wow, your third years are really amazing"
"Exactly, next year... next year they won't be here anymore, how will we make it too the nationals?! I'm gonna miss them so much I don't know what to do, I wish I could just stop time" tear began to fall from [m/n] eyes and Kageyama began to panic not knowing what to do "This year when I joined Aoba Johsai I promised myself that I would help Nii-san and iwa-chan to the nationals, later I also wanted to do it for Mattsun-senpai and Makki-senpai, but I failed. I feel like a bad little brother and a bad Kohai. I'm just not strong enough" [m/n] wiped the tears in his eye
"You may think your not strong, but you are, you're really strong and next year with practice you'll be even stronger" [m/n] looked up to Kageyama "and next year you might get some pretty amazing first years, so don't think because the third-years are leaving you won't be a powerhouse school anymore, even we will get weaker. Daichi-san is our foundation, he'll be leaving, Sugawara-san was able to help the team out when I panicked, he's also smart, he'll be leaving too and our reliable ace will be Azumane-san will be leaving too."
"You're next ace will probably be Tanak-san, he has the characteristics of an ace" [m/n] said
"You're next ace might be the one with a low cut blonde hair and crazy power" Kageyama said
"Kyoutani-san? he's not dependable like Iwa-chan, he does too much one his own, but when we're in a pinch, I can definitely see myself looking to him" [m/n] chuckled a little
"so you don't have to worry about next year, you'll still be considered a powerhouse school, you'll be there to lead the team to victory, right? you did in junior high, you were a reliable captain and dependable ace, I know you can be that again" Kageyama smiled as he wiped the tears of [m/n]'s face, [m/n] began blushing immensely, which didn't go unnoticed.
"Awww~" he hugged Kageyama tightly
meanwhile....
the third years of both teams where in crying anime crocodile tears, even though they were trying to hiding it was obvious they were touched by what their Kohai's said
Once the two separated from their hug they stared at one another's eyes, [m/n] leaned in slowly and connected their lips, they closed their eyes and enjoyed the warmth of the other's lips.
"EEEEHHH!?" they all shrieked making the couple jumped back and turn their headed towards the direction of the sound, they saw members of both Karasuno and Seijoh with shocked facial expression
"W-W-WHAT ARE YOU GUYS D-DOING HERE!!?" [m/n] yelled
"WHY ARE YOU GUYS HERE!?" Kageyama joined
"we followed you here cause he were curious why you didn't stay later to practice like usual" Tanaka said
"Same here" Makki said
"We come all this way to find out you two are DATING!" Oikawa looked like he was gonna die "I feel betrayed"
"Nii-san, stop being so dramatic" [m/n] sighed
"Can't believe the king found someone worthy of him"
"Nice tsukki"
"Shut up Tsukishima"
"[m/n], you like Kageyama-kun?" Hinata asked looking so confused
"haha yeah, I like him a lot" [m/n] smiled
"congratulations, [m/n]-chan" Mattsun patted him on the head
"hahaha Arigato Mattun-senpai"
"Nice job Kageyama, he's a keeper" Daichi slapped him in the back "but, don't let this interfere school and volleyball" he said in an intimidating
"H-Hai!"
"S-Scary" Asahi and Sugawara sweat dropped
"One question" [m/n] interrupted "How long have you guys been watching us"
"Since you left them gym" Hinata said
"Yeah" Kindaichi said
"Ok, and, how much did you happen to hear" [m/n] asked with his eyes closed
"umm... all of it" they all say, [m/n] and Kageyama went pale,
"Ahhh! are they dead!" Yamaguchi panicked "they aren't breathing" he began shaking them
"Aww, they're embarrassed" Iwaizumi teased, the two came back to life and glared at their third years
"You love us [m/n]-chan!" Makki hugged the boy
"It's ok, we'll still be your senpai's" then Mattsun
"Assikawa, your still strong even without us" iwaizumi join
"You'll make it to the nationals, we believe in you" Oikawa followed, now [m/n] was being hugged to death by the four guys, but he was happy. The three third years of Karasuno looked over Kageyama and smacked him on the back all together making him move forward and groan in pain.
"You'll be a great senpai" Daichi said
"You'll be able to get everyone calm in the game soon enough" Sugawara smiled
"even now your dependable" Jesu-- Asahi patted him on the shoulder
"We were planning on tell you guys, separately, that we were dating, but haha surprise" [m/n] scratch his cheeks.
"Now that you know why we leave right after practice, are you gonna stay or what?" Kageyama sighed
"All right, all right, you want some privacy with your boyfriend" Tsukishima smirked making both males blush
"Tobio" Oikawa pointed at said male "You better take good care of him, if I heard you made him cry, you're dead. and don't think for a second he'll go easier on you during a match"
"Of course" Kageyama nodded
"Ok, Ok, let's head out now, we'll leave you two alone now" Sugawara said waving at the two
"Make sure you use protection!" Makki yelled out to the two
"Makki, just why?" Iwaizumi face palmed
"MAKKI!" Oikawa screeched "He will do no such thing to [m/n]!"
"Don't hurt him Kageyama!" Noya added
"NISHINOYA!" Daichi and Sugawara yelled
"Be safe!" Tsukishima joined
"Tsukishima!" Daichi yelled, Tanaka and Mattsun were laughing so hard, they others just giggling.
After hearing all this the two were as red as a tomato
"Oh jeez, these people" [m/n] sighed
"I can't even anymore" Kageyama ran a hand through his hair.
The two continued the rest of the night peacefully without no interruptions, in two days kageyama would be going to Tokyo with his team for the nationals, he'll come back after the games, but [m/n] would miss him a lot, so they had to milk out every moment they had together now. it was late now, so they had to start heading back home, kageyama would walk [m/n] back to his place, them walk back to his own home, which took about 5-8 minutes.
"well, we're here" [m/n] said slightly disappointed that they now had to say bye for the day.
"Yeah, I guess I'll see you tomorrow then"
"Yep" [m/n] leaned in, on his tiptoes and placed his lips on Kageyama's, he bent down a little to make things easier on [m/n], he wrapped his hands around [m/n]'s waist and [m/n] wrapped his hands around Kageyama's neck pulling each other closer, Kageyama lick [m/n]'s bottom lip and he opened it gladly, allowing Kageyama to make the kiss more heated and passionate. after a while the had to separate leaving behind a string of saliva to connecting them and both of them panting and blushing.
"good night" Kageyama smiled and placed a small kiss on [m/n]'s cheeks making him blush even harder, at this point steam was coming out of his face.
"I love you" [m/n] giggled as he hugged Kageyama who hugged back immediately
"I love you too"
