Prologue

So here's the prologue for this story! I'm excited about this one!
Part 5 of Merlin Fairytale Series.

     Once upon a time, long ago, there lived a king who had 12 beautiful and kind-hearted daughters. They all slept in 12 beds in one large room that was locked up every night.
     The princesses were constantly under surveillance from their father and many guards, ever since the death of their beloved mother, Queen Anastasia.
     Yet, despite the fact that they were locked up every night, every morning, they were tired and their shoes were worn and dirty as if they had been danced in all night long.
     The king tried, several times, to find out what was going on but he couldn't for the life of him understand.   
     Eventually, he came up with a plan. If anyone found out the secret behind how the princesses got out at night, he would be granted permission to choose a wife from among his daughters but if he could not find out in 3 days, he would die.
     But I'm getting ahead of myself. Let's go back to the beginning....
