Yoongi walked down the streets three months after he had broken up with Jin. He hadn't talked to Hoseok or Jin and he wasn't planning to. As far as he was concerned they didn't exsist. If his mind happened to think about what happend, it felt like his heart got set on fire and a few times, tears had found their way into his eyes. Though he quickly reminded himself that he shouldn't feel bad. He had done nothing wrong.
He looked for a new apartment and found one luckly pretty fast. It was in a nice neighborhood and it seemed to be just right for him. He got some of his friends to help him move and if he found any of Jin's stuff he threw it out. He didn't deserve getting them back. Everything he had gotton from Jin, clothes, shoes, jewelry he gave to charity stores. It had defently helped him mentally to move too and everything he either gave away or threw out, was like a piece of memory with Jin, something he was more than happy to get rid off.
Even so it stung a little harder that Hoseok had been the one he had done it with. Hoseok had been a friend of his for so long and losing him, almost felt like losing a piece of himself as well. He often wondered why Hoseok had done it. If it really was because they liked each other. Hoseok had been there for him after his first boyfriend cheated on him and he had seen first hand what it had done to Yoongi. It only made him want to forget them both harder.
Yoongi turned a corner and was nearly at his apartment now. He walked the stairs to his apartment but on the second floor, he nearly walked into a guy. He came out of his door the same time Yoongi was walking past it.
"Oh!" The boy exclamied making Yoongi's heart beat faster from suprise. Yoongi had seen the guy around a few times and he was very handsome. He had plump lips and were a little shorter than Yoongi was. "I'm so sorry are you okay?" The boy asked despite the fact that nothing happend.
"I'm fine. Are you okay?" Yoongi asked the handsome boy.
"I'm good. You're the guy who just moved in right?" The boy asked and smiled gently to Yoongi. It only made him look even better.
"Yes I am." Yoongi said midly stunned by the boy's looks.
"Oh well, welcome to the building." He said. "I'm Jimin by the way. Do you like it here?" His voice sounded slightly like he was in a hurry.
"I'm Yoongi and yeah, I really like it." Yoongi said and returned the smile. "Are you in a hurry?" Jimin looked at his phone, probably checking the time.
"Um well in fact, yes I am. I have a bus to catch. It was really nice to meet you." Jimin said already on his way to the stairs.
"Nice to meet you too." Yoongi said and Jimin gave one last smile before he turned around and walked down the stairs in a quick pace. Yoongi gently shook his head and smiled to himself. He continuted to walk up to his apartment, while thinking of Jimin. He really seemed nice and Yoongi almost hoped to bump into him again. Though a quick trip down memory lane that his brain forced him to do, reminded him of his last two boyfriends and was enough for Yoongi to want to stay single forever. He didn't want to risk getting cheated on again and he seemed to be a clear target to do it on. When Yoongi reached his apartment, he knocked out any thought of Jimin or any other boy that might be on his mind. He started to cook some food for himself and ate it while listening to music.
The next day, Yoongi had a day off and decided to go to a coffee shop near his apartment. As he walked down the stairs Jimin nearly walked into him again.
"Oh gosh, Yoongi! I'm sorry. I really should be more careful walking out my door." Jimin said and seemed to blush slightly.
"Hey, it's okay. Though you're right, you probably should be more careful, so you don't hurt yourself one day. We couldn't have that, now could we?" Yoongi said and it only made Jimin blush futher.
"I'll be more careful then." Jimin said and Yoongi gave him a gentle smile. They started to walk down the stairs together both seeming slightly awkward. "I'm going this way." Jimin said when they reached the street.
"So am I." Yoongi said and Jimin seemed slightly suprised. "I'm not stalking you if that's what you think. I'm just going to get coffee." Yoongi said and Jimin blushed again.
"I didn't think that. I'm going to get coffee too, would you mind if we walked together?" Jimin asked and Yoongi felt something stir in his stomach.
"No I wouldn't mind." Yoongi said and they started to walk.
"Are you going to that cafe at the corner of that yellow building?" Jimin asked as they walked.
"Yeah. It think it's a great place plus I needed a new cafe to go to." Yoongi said, not wanting to go to the cafe he met Jin at anymore.
"Did something happend to cafe you usually went to?" Jimin asked sounding curious.
"No I just-have some bad memories attached to it." Yoongi said chosing his words carefully.
"Oh I see." Jimin said and seemed to think his answer over in his mind. They arrived at the cafe a little later, only having talked a little. It wasn't exactly uncomfortable when they didn't talk. Yoongi felt somewhat at ease with Jimin by his side. He had a calm effect and Yoongi hadn't felt so relaxed for a while. They both ordered the same coffee and found a table they could drink it at.
"So if you don't mind me asking what brought you to this end of the city?" Jimin asked and took a sip of his coffee.
"I just needed to get out from my old apartment. I needed a change." Yoongi said once more thinking his words over in his mind before speaking them. Jimin nodded and looked like he was trying to decode Yoongi's answer.
"Something to do with the fact you needed to find a new cafe?" Jimin asked with a hint of knowing he maybe shouldn't ask it. Though Yoongi wasn't one to share personal stuff with people he had only just met, Jimin had an energy over him that made Yoongi trust him. He just had something special. He seemed incredible nice but also like he had some secret. Something that hurt him but he tried to not let it bother him.
"Yes, the same reason." Yoongi said eyeing Jimin carefully.
"I'm sorry I don't mean to snoop in your personal life." Jimin said and looked down.
"It's okay, I'm not bothered by it." Yoongi said and send him a smile. Jimin smiled back and seemed to relax. The conversation continuted on more natural subjects and before Yoongi knew it they had finished their coffee and ordered a new one. He was having a great time with Jimin and had a lot in common with him. Hours went by easily and they walked back together as well. When they reached the building they exchanged numbers.
"If you ever feel like getting a coffee together, feel free to text me." Jimin said and smiled to Yoongi.
"Only if I want to get coffee again? I can't text you for any other reason?" Yoongi said smiling to Jimin. Jimin looked down and seemed to think something before he nodded.
"You can text me for whatever reason you want." Jimin said and Yoongi nodded.
"I'll see you around." Yoongi said and gave one final smile.
"I'll see you." Jimin said. When Yoongi reached his own apartment, he smiled to himself and felt something once more stir in his stomach. He couldn't stop smiling and knew well enough what was happening. "Shit." Yoongi mumbled to himself as he didn't want these feelings. He didn't want to risk getting hurt again. Jimin seemed like a geniue nice guy but in Yoongi's experience they were the ones you had to be the most careful with. Yoongi shook his head, half hoping to shake the feelings out as well. However it didn't seem to work so Yoongi gave a sigh instead. He lay down in his couch letting his thoughts do their thing and slowly let the butterflies fly around in his stomach.
A month went by and the butterflies in Yoongi's stomach had multiplied. Jimin and him spend a lot of days together eating at each others or drinking coffee together at the cafe. Sometimes they talked about everything and nothing. Other times they were quiet but it never felt weird or uncomfortable. Jimin was as Yoongi first thought, a nice person. Though there was still some secret in his eyes. Yoongi hadn't tried to lure it out of him but was sure it bothered him. Yoongi hadn't told about any of his ex-boyfriend's cheating on him, only that he had ex-boyfriends and broken up with them. Jimin said he had recently broken up with a boyfriend too.
The few times their skin had gotton contact, it felt like sparks were being send through Yoongi's blood and it caught him off guard everytime. He wasn't sure if Jimin felt it too but half hope he did and half hope he didn't. Yoongi still wasn't sure what to do about his feelings. His heart kept telling him to ask Jimin out or just do something but his mind kept telling him he would only get hurt again.
One day Yoongi sat in Jimin's couch while Jimin made some coffee to them and his mind was all over the place. The butterflies were being extra hard on him that day and he thought about the day before. The two of them had been washing the dishes together but some water had ended up on the floor and Jimin's foot slipped. He was about to fall but Yoongi caught him and their faces were close. Yoongi almost snorted by the movie like moment as he always found movies like that cheesy. Though as he held Jimin in his arms like that it pained him to say, it was like time slowed down. Jimin's eyes fell down on Yoongi's lips and it almost felt like they were going to kiss. Yoongi knew he would have let him if he tried to. It seemed like Jimin was about to move in and kiss him but something flashed in his eyes and he stopped. He stood up thanking Yoongi and blushing red. After that Yoongi wondered if Jimin had the same feelings for him. He probably wanted to know if he did with about 70% and 30% didn't want to know and ignore it ever happend. Yoongi shook his head, that was a lie. He wanted to know with 99% and 1% didn't. In the few moments he was completely honest with himself, he had to admit no one had ever made him feel as good as Jimin. Not Jin or his other ex-boyfriend. No one.
"Here." Jimin said giving his coffee to him and pulling him out of his thoughts.
"Thank you." Yoongi said and Jimin sat down. Over the short time they had become friends Jimin had slowly moved closer to him when they were sitting together.
"By the way that movie we wanted to watch, is out in cinema next week. Want to go together?" Jimin asked and seemed more nervous than he did when they invited each other to drink coffee. It made Yoongi feel like he was asking him out on a date. Therefore it took Yoongi a little too long to answer.
"Um sure." Yoongi said and Jimin tilted his head slightly.
"Are you okay? You seem to be some other place today." Jimin said and Yoongi wondered what excuse to use but in that moment his brain decided to get quiet.
"I.." His voice trailed off.
"You know you can tell me everything and anything right?" Jimin said making Yoongi feel like he welcomed him to ask if it was a date or not. Hesitent Yoongi decided to ask. The friendship could easily break now if he was wrong and if he wasn't, he still wasn't sure if he wanted a new relationship.
"Did you mean going to the cinema like on a date?" Yoongi asked not prepared to meet Jimin's eyes.
"Um..no I'm sorry-I don't date. Not anymore." Jimin said and Yoongi looked at him. His voice sounded like he had been hurt badly and when he saw his face, he had never seen it twisted so much. He looked sad and hurt completely taken Yoongi aback.
"Are you okay?" It was a stupid question, obviously he wasn't okay.
"I just-"Jimin's eyes filled with tears. Yoongi was shocked to see this beautiful boy breaking down that way right infront of his eyes. Yoongi didn't know what to say and only moved closer. He put his arms around Jimin and Jimin tensed up before relaxing. Yoongi wasn't sure if he was crying or not. They sat like that for a while before Jimin pulled away. His eyes were bloodshot and now Yoongi noticed his shirt was wet. "I'm sorry." Jimin sobbed.
"No, it's okay." Yoongi said still holding an arm around Jimin.
"No it's not. Yoongi I like you. A whole lot and in a very diffrent way than you would like a friend. You make me feel calm and like you understand me. I've never felt like this before. But-" Jimin choked on the words and fresh tears fell down his cheeks. "My ex-boyfriend cheated on me. He found some boy in town and they started to date behind my back. They did it three months before I realised. I went over to his apartment to suprise him and they were having sex. He tried to apologize but I was so hurt and I broke up with him. I found out later he had slept with a lot of other people behind my back. I loved him so much and he betrayed me. I can't take that hurt again, I just can't. I cried for so long and I promised myself not to let myself get in such a position again. Then I met you and I got so confused. I started to like you but-I don't want to get hurt." Jimin cried the whole time he said it while Yoongi listened carefully and dried his tears away. Yoongi couldn't believe anyone would hurt Jimin that way or the fact that Jimin felt the same way about him.
"Jimin." Yoongi said carefully making Jimin look at him. "It's okay. I understand what pain you're going through. I once had a boyfriend who cheated on me and I felt so bad. I cried a lot. More than I've ever done before. I got better and I found another boy who I fell for. We were together three years before I caught him cheating with my best friend of seven years. I confronted them and broke up with my ex and I cut all contact with my friend. Trust me when I say I get what you're going through. I promised myself not to like anyone again but then I met you. I like you a lot too and I would never hurt you like he hurt you because I know the pain as well. I would never put anyone through that." Jimin's tears slowly stopped.
"You're not just saying that?" Jimin asked and Yoongi saw the secret in his eyes slowly fading.
"No I'm not. That's why I moved here because I couldn't stand living in the apartment we used to share or use the cafe we met each other in." Yoongi said and Jimin seemed to be taken back to the first day they met. "Jimin I really want to date you. I already like you a lot but I also understand if you can't do this." Jimin looked like he was taking his words in and examined them from every angle.
"I want to be with you. We've spend so much time together and I guess gone on friends dates for a month now. I want to jump in with my whole body. I want to be your boyfriend." Jimin said it with a confidence Yoongi didn't expect him to have. Though he didn't hate the thought, in fact he liked it more than going on dates.
"That's fine with me. I want to be your boyfriend as well." Yoongi said and Jimin gave a smile. He looked down and seemed to invite Yoongi closer with his eyes. Yoongi smiled and leaned in. Their lips met in a kiss that was far beyond good. Their lips worked well together and Jimin relaxed as Yoongi pulled him over on his lap. When they pulled away Jimin hugged him tightly.
"I'm so happy I almost walked into you twice." He whispered in Yoongi's ear making Yoongi laugh.
"So am I." Yoongi said and Jimin pulled back. "No more heartbreak okay?"
"No more heartbreak." Jimin said and his eyes were shining in a way Yoongi had never seen before. Then they filled with tears again making Yoongi frown.
"What is it?" Yoongi asked holding tighter around Jimin.
"I never thought I would find someone who understands what I feel or someone who makes me feel so good. I thought I would forever be heartbroken but you know how it feels so I believe you'll never hurt me even though that might be foolish of me." Jimin said and dried his tears away.
"It's not foolish of you. I feel the same exact way. The hurt we've been through is one of the many reasons we're such a good couple. Now we need to focus on being happy and we can do that together." Yoongi said and felt as his body was as light as air.
"I already am happy with you." Jimin said and pulled Yoongi into another kiss. A kiss that felt like it really meant the world to them. A kiss that symbolised the start of something new. Something good. When Jimin pulled away it wasn't enough for Yoongi. They kissed again and Yoongi felt a rush of happiness. Yoongi made a new promise to himself right there in the middle of the kiss. He would always keep Jimin happy, he would be with him as long as Jimin wanted. It didn't matter it had only been a month since they first met. In that moment it felt like they had known each other forever and it felt like they would be together forever as well, which was exactly what they were.
