Julian quickly scurried out of the room eyed clamped shut and his arms thrown across his face for reinforcement.
I snapped my gaze away from the door as the bed dipped and glared at Sawyer, ❝now why the hell would you do that huh?❞ I snapped pulling away from his touch as he leaned into me. Hurt flashed through his eyes but he quickly masked it and plastered a small smile on his face, one that I noticeably could point out was fake.
Shrugging his shoulders, he looked over at me with a satisfied smirk plastered on his face. ❝At least he knows now-❞
❝That I'm cheating on my boyfriend. Yes Sawyer, my friend knows now. It's all confirmed and dandy right!❞ I retorted, ensuring that my words were clipped indicating how angry I was.
❝Didn't you break up with the douche? It's not considered cheating if you dumped his ass. Stop giving him a title that's no longer his.❞ Sawyer growls unintentionally, narrowing his gaze at me.
❝It's not like that okay. My family doesn't know I broke up with him and it's rubbing the wrong way how I have to act like everything is fine when I can't come to terms with what happened. Well, I can but, I don't want to believe it.❞ I say, letting out a sigh in the process.
❝Julie❞ He groaned, nuzzled his face into my neck as he started pulling me onto his lap. I tried to pull away but his arms circled around my waist pulling me against his chest. ❝I'm sorry okay.. I just want people to know that you're off the market, and not by that asshole.❞
❝That's the thing Sawyer, we're not. This. Us? I, I'm technically still with Aiden and I -❞
❝Don't even finish that fucking sentence.❞ Sawyer growled into my ear sending shivers down my spine. ❝I already broke up with that she devil for like three months now, and you ended things with Aiden. So why are you hanging onto that relationship Julie?❞ My head turns to him and I chew on my bottom lip softly looking up at him,❝Is it because he was your first relationship? Because it certainly can't be because he was your fucking first love.❞ Sawyer hissed out, causing me to reel back and glare at him. ❝Are you for fucking serious?❞
❝Why are you preventing the inevitable huh?❞ His hand spayed across the middle of my back and hi❞ You know fully well that he's not going to stop cheating, despite whatever fucking fairytale relationship you have in your head with him. He's not the same guy you started out your relationship with.❞
❝Neither are you.❞ I whisper out, keeping my gaze locked with his, watching his eyes widen in shock then into something else. ❝Sawyer❞, I sigh softy,❝Maybe we sh-❞
❝Are you fully clothed❞ Julian's voice rang out from through the hallway causing both of us to pull apart slightly and turning our attention to the door way in which he stood. ❝And done having a heart to heart or should I say mouth to mouth.❞ he chuckled puckering his lips for emphasis. Another sound of shuffling came from outside and my eyebrows shot up, only for Julian to speak up, ❝Alex is in the kitchen raiding your fridge.❞
In that moment, if I weren't so damned conflicted I probably would have laughed, but I'm not and my insides churned a bit. With what? I don't know.
Aiden and I have been extremely distant since he left for his football reread a couple months back. He blamed our lack of communication on the coach's strict orders and the amount of training that he has that consumes him each day.
I mean I wanted to believe him. But who am I to judge. Like seriously, who am I to judge? I'm literally sleeping behind my boy-- - ex boyfriend's back while he's making a future for himself.
Or so he says.
I slowly look over at Sawyer and see his lips moving but no words are coming out. I blink a couple more times and realize he wasn't actually speaking just moving his lips. My eyes raises to meet his and he let's out a soft laugh. ❝I did the thing with the lips that you like❞ he cheesed like a four year old kid high on candy.
❝Hey Sawyer, can I have a moment with this goon?❞ Julian's voice asks tearing me out of thought. He cleared his throat once more as Sawyer continued to look, no, stare at me.
❝Um, uh yeah sure just let me grab some pants.❞ He smirks, winking at him jokingly in which Julian simply glared at him, ❝Unless you don't want me to.❞
Julian leveled his with a glare,❝You better cover every piece of skin asshole, I don't swing that way. Even if you were, I only like curly-headed darkies.❞He smiled softly looking over at me.
Shaking my head at his joking manner, I smiled small pushing myself away from the headboard wrapping the sheet fully around me, ❝Shuck me a shirt big butt❞ I ordered Sawyer as his butt juggled while he slipped into his jeans.
❝Shut up Mariah.❞ He shot back causing me to glare playfully at him.
❝Harty har har Soy beans. Pass me somethi- what the hell is wrong with you Julian?❞ I pulled one of Aiden's jersey away from my face, completely obviously as to why it was still here. Staring down again the material Sawyer made his way out as Julian shuffled in shutting the door behind him.
❝Look, you know I'm not one to judge but don't drag him along. You already hurt him by doing this Juliette❞ Julian sympathetically said, but his hard face made it difficult for me to decipher who's side he was on.
❝First and freaking foremost, Aiden and I aren't exactly together anymore.❞ Julian's eyebrows shot up in surprise, ❝Yeah you didn't know, did you?❞ I raised my voice at him as I pushed myself further up the bed while clutching the sheet to my chest tightly.
❝I-I didn't k-" He stuttered, scratching the back of his neck.
❝Yeah I figured. Oo oooh oh oh,❞ I smiled feigning excitement, ❝but there's more my dear friend.❞ I grinned widely although my stomach churned simply thinking of what happened, causing him to frown.
He opened his mouth and spoke softly, lifting his head slightly. ❝what happened?❞
❝He cheated on me. Again❞Julian's face twisted in confusion then to anger as he gripped his hair yanking it violently. ❝Julie why the fuck didn't I know he cheated on you the first time? I'm going to kill the bastard. The audacity that son of a bitch had to come to me. Me!❞ He yelled, pointing to himself as he stalked up and down my room, ❝ begging me to get you to stop being mad at him. Man, he even lied and said you were arguing about how you said he was always away.❞ He scoffed at the thought while I stared at him. The inner battle I had so many nights he was having right in front of me. Sadly it brought joy to me knowing my friend felt my confusion and pain. ❝But he was just banging some chick while he was supposed to be with you.❞ Nodding my head sadly I look up at him.
I mean, he was Alex's and Aiden's friend but..... he was also my friend.
Man! FML.
❝Juliette, look. Your friend's an idiot and so are you.❞ Sawyer's voice interrupts making both my bother and I to glare at him. ❝What! You are. If you had just listened to me that day in the parking lot you could have avoided all of this heartache.❞ He finished, directing the rest of his speech at me. ❝But noooo, Sawyer just hates Aiden and will do or say anything to make me break up with him.❞ Sawyer drawls out, rolling his eyes dramatically before lifting a spoon full of cereal into his mouth. Julian's eyebrows furrow once more and he turns his attention to me confused.
❝He was trying to warn me.❞ Turing to him I start to explain but pause and glare at Sawyer, ❝but the way in which he did it was very questionable.❞
❝Jujubee over didn't want my love or affection.❞ He shrugged walking further into the bedroom, plopping himself on the end of the bed.
❝Stop calling me that Sawyer.❞ I groaned pulling my eyebrows together as the mesh of the jersey rubbed against the padding of my fingertips. I glanced up at him letting a sigh slip past my lips, as one of his brushy eyebrows quirked upwards. ❝You need to make your break up clear with Aiden, the guys still making sure no one else has you. Being very possessive and shit.❞ Sawyer finished, muttering something under his breath as his glanced over at Julian before giving me a look, some unsettling feeling being them.
❝I know, I know. I'll tell Aiden when he gets back.❞
❝Tell me what when I get back.❞
