Rowan's POV
I was breathing hard and fast, out of breathe from all the short running. One moment the truck is right behind me, next thing you know I'm getting pushed out of the way. Shockingly I never expected it to be Brandon Darrows. I never thought you would ever save my life. But he were are, his arms wrapped around my waist and half way up my back. Our chests pounding, and our faces right there up and front with each other. We haven't said anything, we were just staring.
"ROWAN! ROWAN!" I hear Hailey screaming
I pull away from Brandon, not breaking eye contact as I feel Hailey's arms wrap around me from behind - hugging me tightly
Oh my god, are you okay?! Why did you push me out of the way" she asks me
I break eye contact with him, and turn around to focus on Hailey
"It was the best thing to do and I'm fine" I say
"Brandon? Where did you come from?" Hailey asks
"I was just walking around, got tired of being inside" he says
"Well thanks, come on Rowan we gotta go" Hailey says as she drags me away.
That night. All my mind could think about was what if he hadn't had saved me, and how I never got to say thank you.

It was my usual day at school. Hang with Hailey and Elisia, get bullied by Trevor, and do my classes. Truth is, I've been so distracted today, I don't think I did well on any of my pop quizzes, assignments, and tests. I've been too focused on Brandon, I seriously can't take my eyes off of him and I don't know why. I guess I'm curious.
I mean he hangs out with Sean mostly and sometimes Trevor, after he defended me from Trevor, I haven't seen them with each other that much. Only when Sean is there.
Brandon acts as if he's the worst guy in the world, when really he isn't at all. Hangs out with assholes, acts like an asshole from time to time, but then saves me from a moving car getting ready to hit me and run me over.
I see Brandon alone, without his friends, and he's getting ready to walk away. I guess now is as good as any other time
"Brandon!" I lowly shout
He turns around and smiles at me
"Rowan" he says back
"I forgot to say something" I say as I walk up to him
"What do you mean?" He asks me
"About last night" I say
"Rowan don't worry about it" he says
"Thank you" I say
He doesn't say anything back, he just smiles at me
"I'll see you around Fricks" he says to me as he walks past me
This boy is complicated. But I'm hooked.
