I woke up and looked around. I was shocked to not see any other buildings or trees. It was weird seeing a TV, and coffee, and.... Girl? I looked over my shoulder and saw a mid twenty year old girl sleeping on the chair next to me. She had drool coming out of her mouth dripping onto the chair, and she smelt like alcohol... Ugh probably a hooker. Why would she be sleeping on the chair though?

Mark walked in rubbing his eyes and looking at her and paused.

"How did that get here?"

"Uhh... You tell me buddy."

"I have no clue. I didn't drink last night so no clue."

"You drink?"

I said rubbing my forehead.

"Uh yea."

"Oh."

I looked down and sighed.

"What?"

"Nothing it's just I can't stay here."

"Why not?"

"You drink and well you will never be here from your concerts and parties... So yea I can't stay here."

"It's a problem I drink?"

"Yea. That's the reason I ran away from my... Aunt."

"Oh... Well I can't really help. But I can try?"

"That would be to much stress to you so I'll leave."

"Don't leave."

"Why do you want me to stay?"

I poked my chest and looked at him oddly.

"Because... You need help."

"Oh. Well thanks, but it would just be to hard for you."

"No. Not if I try."

He said coming closer to me.

"Ok. But if I cause any trouble I'm leaving. Wait, first we need to focus on that."

I waved my hand in circles over the area where the girl was sleeping.

"Oh yea."

We walked over and poked her arm and eventually shook the chair forwards and back trying to wake her up. Her eyes opened and stared into Mark's.

"Good morning baby."

"What? I have no idea who you are."

"Oh, well I had fun at the party. Thanks for carrying me to.... The chair?"

"Apparently."

I scooted myself in.

"Mark? Who is this girl?"

She said blinking her eyes and rubbing them checking if she was right.

"Autumn. My friend."

"Oh, well I better get going baby."

"What?! I. Don't. Know. You."

She walked out and slammed the door.

"What the?"

Mark mumbled to himself.

"That was rather bizarre."

"Uh yea! I guess till next time."

"She said you carried her to the chair... Why?"

I said in a soft tone.

"I don't remember being drunk."

He grabbed a cup of coffee he made and took a sip.

"Remember the party?"

"Well yeah. It was like the others I've been to."

We sat by each other and turned on the TV. It was still on the spongebob channel I was watching last night.

He was close to me, and I could smell him. He smelt like cologne and coffee. There was no alcohol smell on him at all. Since I was pretty used to the smell of alcohol it didn't phase me anymore.

"Well I guess we will never know then."

"I guess."

We sat there in silence watching the TV waiting for one of to break the silence.

"Mark?"

"Yeah?"

"Can I listen to that album now?"

I said rubbing my hands together, ready to listen to amazing songs.

"Oh yeah! Let me get my phone and you some headphones."

He walked away smiling and searching around for headphones.

Finally, I could hear him coming down the hallway with the headphones in hand.

"Alright! Ready for some of the best songs known to man?"

"Sure, why not?"

I said perky.

He smirked and handed me the headphones. I plugged them in and started listening to the album Torches. Which is the best album known to man since I have heard it now.

"What'd ya think?"

He looked at me waiting for an instant answer.

"Good. Very good."

"Thanks!"

"Haha no problem."

"Favorite song?"

"Helena Beat or Miss You... Mostly Helena Beat."

"Nice. I like Houdini the best."

He gestured pointing to his chest.

"Your pretty cool about a fan being in your apartment..."

"Your not as big as others I've seen. A lot of girls start bawling their eyes out if they see me in concert."

"That's just weird."

"Yeah, it is weird a little bit huh?"

We both talked for a little while and I went into the kitchen. There looked like nothing in sight. But he had pancake batter I could make so I fixed it up and put them on a plate.

"Woah... You cooked that?"

"Yeah, is that a problem?"

I cocked my head sideways like a dog would do.

"No, no. It just smells good."

"Thanks! I haven't cooked in a while."

"It looks like you went to college on how to make pancakes."

He smirked and took a big bite out of the pancakes.

"Hah thank you?"

I asked questionably to him because going to college for something doesn't mean your exactly a pro at it...

"That's a complement."

He winked and smiled.

I smiled and sat next to him. He finished unexpectedly and sat back in his chair.

"How's it going Mark?"

I asked like as if he were a random family member.

"Stressful, I've been having a writers block lately."

"Oh. Well just write what you feel ya know?"

"It's not that easy... Wait? It could be."

He looked around the room and grabbed his plate, and mine, and put them in the dish washer.

I looked over as he walked over to the piano. His hands started moving around and then he started humming along with it. He had an amazing voice. As he went along I made my own lyrics and sang along.

"When your best friends all strung out..."

I started humming. He looked over to me and smiled.

"That was really good. Where did you get that from?"

"Well your a friend and you seem stressed out... Or strung out. So yeah."

I laughed and continued walking over to the couch.

"You make it sound easy."

"Because I don't over think a lot. I like it plain and simple."

"Hmm. I could work with you ya know?"

He waved his hand toward me and I smiled.

"Maybe."

He smirked and got up.

We sat by each other on the couch and smiled at each other.

"What?... Mr. Mark?"

I said laughing at my stupid nickname for him.

"Nothing. Just wondering what you would be like if you combed your hair junkie."

"Junkie? Uh..."

"Yeah it's from one of our new songs on the album."

"Cool! I'll listen to it, if it comes on the radio," I chuckled. "I thought you were calling me a drug addict for a second."

He laughed and rolled his eyes.

"I wouldn't call you a freaking drug addict little girl," he added a little smirk on his face. "Oh, and you won't have to listen to the radio very much anymore."

I was shocked for a second and thought about it.

"Why?"

"Because I'm adopting you as a little sister."
