Jin watched from the distance as Namjoon came back, with some of the other wolves. They were all in their wolves forms and Jin admired Namjoon's fur. It was dark brown almost black on the top of his body but changed into a nice light brown as it came futher down and became white under his stomach. Jin could almost paint lines where the color changed. He watched as they went into a hut and probably changed back to humans. Jin kept cleaning the windows on the hut he was suppose to clean and a little after, they all walked back out in human shape. Jin let his eyes fall on Namjoon again and he looked even better as a human. Starting from his brown hair and plump lips down to his feet that always walked with confidence.
Jin had, had a crush on Namjoon for years now. He liked everything about him even though he had never really talked with Namjoon. Namjoon was an alpha so he was in highest class and Jin was an omega so in the lowest class. Jin knew it was wasted feelings as an alpha would never fall for an omega. It was usually omega falls for omega. Beta and alphas were more commen. Only a few in the camp were beta and omega but not a single couple was omega and alpha so Jin's chances were less than zero.
Jin's eyes followed Namjoon until his sight got cut off abruptly. Hwan was standing with crossed arms infront of him, Jin knew he had done wrong right away. Hwan was a beta and higher up in class than him and also the owner of the hut Jin cleaned.
"I see you're busy doing stuff you're not suppose to instead of being busy with things you are suppose to do." Hwan said in a cold voice and Jin looked down.
"I'm sorry." Jin said and stood with his hands folded infront of him.
"Whatever, just keep cleaning and be done within a hour, I unlike you have things to do." Hwan said and Jin nodded. Hwan made an unimpressed sound and Jin turned around to clean the windows again. He hurried to be done with it and was done before Hwan came back. He left his hut and as he walked away his friend Jimin waved at him to come over. Jin walked over to him and sat down.
"What's up? Hwan giving you a hard time again?" Jimin asked and patted Jin's back.
"I don't think you can call it again when he's doing it all the time. I think it's just the way he is." Jin said and sighed. They didn't chose themselves who they wanted to work for, they just got told who and they did it. Didn't argue, didn't complain. Jimin had been lucky enough to get a guy called Hoseok and the two of them got along well even though Jimin was an omega. Hoseok simply didn't seem to care about class system.
"I'm sorry man." Jimin said and patted his back again.
"It's not your fault, don't be sorry." Jin said and rubbed his forehead. "Anyways he had plans so he probably won't need me more besides dinner."
"Well that's at least good news." Jimin said and Jin agreed. He spend rest of the afternoon together with Jimin before the omegas had to make dinner to their bosses. Afterwards they had to clean up, a few betas were nice enough to help but some were way to stuck up. The night fell on quicly and even though it was normal for wolves to be up at night most went to bed at midnight. Jin however couldn't sleep. He looked at all the huts around him, everyone had their own hut unless they were mates. It was nice a little society they had gotton for themselves and most time Jin loved it. As the last light went off in a hut, Jin listened to sound of the woods. It made him peaceful and he felt with a need to run. He went to his hut and stripped himself down. He checked outside and there were no one to see. Then he changed himself into a wolf and ran into the forrest. He felt so free, like nothing could ever hold him down. The smell of the woods filled his nostrils and he breathed in happily as he ran so fast it almost felt like flying. Suddenly he caught a scent of something. He stopped running and sniffed. He knew that scent all too well and as quiet as possible he followed it. When he reached the owner of the scent he hid in some bushes. Even though it was night, he could clearly see Namjoon sitting against a tree looking up on the stars. Jin admired his calm face and the way he looked like a painting. He was beautiful in the light and Jin felt even more attrachted to him.
"Who's there?" Namjoon suddenly asked and Jin stepped back. "Come out. I won't hurt you." Jin hesitant stepped closer and came out so Namjoon could see him. Namjoon looked at him with the same calm expression as he had watching the stars. "You're from the pack right?" Jin tried his best to nodd, his heart racing. "Here, I have some extra pants, you can change and use them if you like." Jin looked at the pants Namjoon was holding out. He gentle took them in his mouth and went behind the bushes. He changed to human and put on the pants that fitted pretty well. His heart was still beating fast as he stepped out from the bushes.
"Hello." Jin said careful and Namjoon smiled to him. He semmed a lot diffrent than the Namjoon who roamed the camp. With the others he was confident, had sort of a cold look even if he was nice to most. Here in the moonlight, he seemed calm, relaxed still confident but in a less cocky way.
"Hello. Want to sit?" Namjoon asked and Jin blushed. He sat down a little away from Namjoon. "I'm sorry but I don't seem to know your name."
"It's Jin." Jin said shyly as his upper body was exposed and he tried to cover it up without being obvious.
"Well hello Jin. I'm-"
"Namjoon. Yes I know." Jin said and admittedly blushed. "Everyone knows. You're an alpha." Namjoon laugehd a little and it was the best sound Jin had ever heard.
"I guess so." Namjoon said and looked down. "Now that I come to think of it. You work for Hwan right?"
"Yes." Jin said trying not to sound too resignedly.
"He's a tough boss isn't he?" Namjoon asked and Jin nodded without meeting Namjoon's eyes. "He isn't too hard on you right?" Namjoon asked and sounded slightly worried.
"I guess he's not worse than anyone else." Jin said and he could feel Namjoon's eyes on him, like they were trying to solve a puzzle.
"You would tell someone if he was too much right?" Namjoon said and Jin shifted his look uncomfortably.
"I'm sorry I don't feel comfortable talking about this." Jin said. Omegas usually didn't talk about how their bosses was agaisnt them, mainly if they weren't nice and especially not if it was an alpha who they were talking with. Namjoon seemed to weigh his words in his head.
"Alright." Namjoon said after some time. "How come you were out running?"
"I couldn't sleep and it makes me feel calm and happy. There's someting special about doing it when nobody is up and the moon is guiding you. The smell of the woods fills you up and the sound of your own heart is the only thing you can hear." Jin said and felt a little shy talking like that.
"I feel the exact same. It's really the best feeling there is." Namjoon said and smiled brightly to Jin so he blushed again. Jin knew he had to change subject or he would melt under Namjoon's wonderful eyes.
"How come you don't have an omega working for you?" Jin asked. He had always wondered about this but could hardly just go over to him and ask such a question.
"I guess I don't like it. I'm not too fond off our class system if I have to be honest. You get treated like slaves, at least by some people in the pack." Namjoon said and looked at Jin so Jin knew exactly who he was talking about.
"Most of the omegas don't mind. There's not too much work when it comes down to it so most of the day we can do what we want. Of course it helps if your boss is nice." Jin said and then quickly moved on. "You know it's something to do. If we didn't have that I'm sure we would go crazy but of course that's only some of us, that have that opnion. I think most of us but there's probably some who dosn't like it." Jin explained and was honest about it. Jin didn't mind the work much it was only Hwan who made his life sour.
"Really?" Namjoon asked and sounded like it brand new information to him.
"Yeah. I wouldn't lie to you." Jin said and Namjoon smiled and looked down.
"I don't think you would." Namjoon said and slowly Jin started to relax in his presence. He liked talking to Namjoon because it made him feel like he was valued. Namjoon looked up on the sky and breathed in. "We should probably get back." Namjoon said and stood up. He went to Jin and reached out a hand for Jin to take. Jin let his hand slide into Namjoon's and Namjoon helped him up. When Namjoon let go Jin could still feel the warmth from it. They started to walk back to the camp. "I wonder why I haven't talked to you before."
"I guess it just hasn't been the right time." Jin said and Namjoon looked at him with shining eyes.
"Maybe not. But I'm happy it's the time now." Namjoon said and Jin smiled a little. It was hard to believe that he was walking next to Namjoon, his crush, the person he had admired for years. Though his heart didn't beat as fast as before and now felt calm together with him. When they reached the camp, Jin stopped.
"I have to go this way." Jin said. The omegas huts were usually the furthest away from the eating place. "Um do you want your pants?" Jin asked shy once more.
"No that's okay. Just bring them tomorrow, we can meet the same place at the same time? You can find your way back right?" Namjoon asked and Jin's heart made a jump of happiness.
"Sure. I mean yes I can." Jin said and smiled widely, making Namjoon smile too.
"Alright. See you tomorrow." Namjoon said and Jin nodded.
"See you tomorrow." Jin said and Namjoon turned to walk away. Jin went to his hut with a big smile plastered on his lips. He went straight to bed with butterflies in his stomach.
The next day Jin still couldn't stop himself from smiling. He tried to hide it but couldn't as he walked to the big opening where the fire was. All the omegas gathered to make breakfast with whatever the alphas and betas got for them.
"You seem awefully happy, this fine morning." Jimin said and sat next to Jin.
"I had a good dream." Jin simply said. He didn't know if Namjoon wanted others to know or even he did. He knew it was only a matter of time before Namjoon realised they couldn't meet anymore and telling others seemed like it would make it happen faster.
"If you say so." Jimin said clearly not beliving him but letting him be. When they were done making breakfast Jin walked to Hwan's hut and knocked. It took a few seconds before he opened. He didn't look at Jin but just told him to leave the food and come back in a hour to clean. Jin said he would come back and went to get breakfast for himself. Namjoon was there too making breakfast for himself. Their eyes met and a little smile was exchanged. It was the only thing he saw of Namjoon for the rest of the day. They had diffrent things to do and mainly Jin was cleaning inside Hwan's hut which he of course he had made as messy as possible. When they moon finally took over from the sun, Jin walked to the woods with Namjoon's pants in his hand which he had washed. Namjoon was already there leaning against the tree.
"Hey Jin." Namjoon said and smiled as Jin sat down a little closer than the day before.
"Hello." Jin said and gave Namjoon his pants. Namjoon sort of seemed as something was wrong and Jin wondered what it could be. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah..I mean no. I had a fight with one of my friends today." Namjoon answered and sighed.
"I'm sorry to hear that." Jin said. He didn't want to step out of line and aks Namjoon whatever fight was about. If he wanted to tell him, he probably would.
"It's not so much the fight I'm upset about. We made up but is the pressure. So many people value my opnion and it's choking me. I know I'm an alpha and I need to make decisions but there's other alphas too and sometimes it would be nice if they would ask them instead of me." Namjoon said and Jin felt as he was talking from his heart. It didn't sound like he had talked to anyone about this before and Jin felt a connection being made between them. It wasn't strong but lurking ready to grab whatever it could to make it stronger.
"It must be hard to have people count on you always. The reason they value your opnion, I'm guessing it's because you have a certain way of carrying yourself. You look like you know all the answers even to things you would have no way of knowing. You're a person people listen to. You make a decision fast and it's usually the right one. You seem strong and unbreakable. So you're more likely to have answers they can use than any of the other alphas." Jin said and thought about some of the things he had observed looking at Namjoon and the other wolves. Namjoon's jaw had dropped slightly and he seemed impressed.
"Woaw that's really something. You really think all of that?" Namjoon asked amazed.
"I thought we agreed yesterday. I would never lie to you." Jin said and Namjoon smiled slightly.
"I know." Namjoon said.
"But if it really bothers you, you should tell them to ask someone else. Tell them the truth, you got too much on your hands. My guess is they don't want to bother you. They respect you far too much." Jin said and looked away.
"If you think so I'll tell them next time." Namjoon said. They changed subject and talked for a long time about all kind of diffrent things until Namjoon looked up on the sky and breathed in before he stood up announcing it was time to get back. Like the night before Namjoon reached out his hand and Jin took it, the warmth from it sticking to his hand as he let go.
They kept meeting every night for a month and Jin had fallen even harder for Namjoon. He had thought about stopping the meetings as he felt he was setting himself up for heartbreak but then Namjoon would smile at him and he would feel better. During the day they smiled whenever they saw each other and exchanged a few words but not enough for people to notice. Namjoon had once said to Jin that it wasn't because he didn't want people to see them together but rather because Namjoon was busy as winter was coming and they needed to prepare some stuff before it arrived. Jin thought Namjoon wouldn't lie to him and accepted it as it was. After he had started to meet with Namjoon, Hwan's comments and behavior towards Jin, didn't bother him as much as it used to. One night they were leaning against the same tree. Their legs were slightly touching and it made Jin feel warm inside. They were talking about what they hated most about being werewolves but at some point Namjoon looked at Jin with loving eyes. Jin as always blushed under the stare of Namjoon's wonderful eyes.
"Jin you're very beautiful has anyone ever told you that?" Namjoon asked which only made Jin blush even more.
"No one has ever told me that." Jin said and Namjoon's eyes fell on Jin's lips.
"Well you are. So very beautiful." Namjoon said and slowly leaned in. Jin's heart picked up speed and slowly under the moonlight their lips met. It felt like sparks flew through Jin's body as their soft lips touched. It felt so good Jin never wanted it to end. Then the thought of the two of them being together hit him and it made him move away. "Jin?" Namjoon asked but Jin just shook his head. They could never be togehter and pretending was simply stupid. Namjoon was an alpha. Out of Jin's reach. "Jin?" Namjoon repeated.
"We can't. It won't work." Jin said and before Namjoon could react, Jin turned himself into a wolf and ran back to his hut, Namjoon calling his name. First when he reached the door did he turn back and he lay down in his bed, head pressed into the pillow, crying silent tears.
He didn't see Namjoon the next morning which he was alright with. He had fallen too hard for Namjoon and he could understand that Namjoon caught up in the situation but that was clearly it. Jin went through his morning routine as always and then cleaned Hwan's hut. He had to wash the windows but he was working slow as his mind was distracting him. He could still feel Namjoon's lips on his own, it haunted him and refused to leave him alone. Jin saw Namjoon return to the camp his expression seemed down.
"Why the hell are you working so slow?" Hwan was suddenly standing infront of him as Jin had turned his body to look at Namjoon.
"I'm sorry." Jin answeed and bowed his head.
"You know what? I'm getting sick and tired of your sorry's and your eyes always looking at Namjoon." Hwan said, his voice raising getting attention from the others. Jin felt embarrsed as eyes were glued to them but he couldn't say anything back. "Get it into your head, he will never love an omega and espcisally an omega as useless as you." Before Jin knew it Hwan had pushed Jin so he fell over the bucket with water and landed hard on the ground. Jin felt confused but his words much more than the fall. The next thing happend before Jin could even get up. Namjoon had grabbed Hwan by the collar of his shirt and pushed him against the wall of the hut.
"Don't ever talk about something you don't understand." Namjoon growled at Hwan who seemed slightly scared. "You don't ever treat Jin like that again, you don't ever treat any of the omegas bad, understood?" Hwan seemed to have lost his power to talk and only nodded. "And for your information, I'm crazy about Jin. I like him a whole lot and I'll be damned if wolves like you are going to ruin the best thing that's ever happend to me because of your damn class system." Hwan looked downright frightened for Namjoon but no one made a motion to stop him. Hwan had a bad reputation and most probably thought he deserved it. "Now nodd and tell me what I just said has sunk into your thick scalp." Slowly Hwan nodded.
"I heard and understand everything you just said. I won't bother Jin or any omega again. You like Jin and I shouldn't talk about it because I don't understand it." Hwan said his voice shaking slightly. Jin was slighly suprised over Namjoon's actions. Alphas was very territorial and protective of their mates so it confused Jin as they weren't together. His words should mean everything to Jin but Jin was just confused.
"Good." Namjoon said and let go of him. He went to Jin who out of shock hadn't stood up yet and reached his hand down. Jin took it and Namjoon helped him up this time not letting go. "One last thing. Jin is done working for you. I think it would be good for you to do your own stuff for a while." Namjoon said and Hwan glared at him. Namjoon lead Jin to his hut while everyone was looking at them but Namjoon didn't seem to care. He closed the door after them and told Jin to sit on the bed. He looked Jin up and down probably to see if he was hurt. When he concluded he wasn't he sat next to Jin. "Why did you run away last night?"
"I thought it would hurt too much to keep fooling myself. I like you a lot as you probably found out and you were just caught up in the moment." Jin said and looked at his hands. Namjoon shook his head and grabbed Jin's hands.
"I wasn't caught up in the moment. I meant what I said out there. I'm crazy about you. I have been ever since the first day we talked in the woods." Namjoon said and he sounded very sincere.
"But you can't. I'm an omega you're an alpha." Jin argued.
"I told you the first night. I'm not very fond of the class system." Namjoon said and Jin remembered him saying that. Jin felt as his world had been covered by clouds but slowly small rays of sunshine was breaking through.
"You really like me?" Jin asked shyly.
"I wouldn't lie to you." Namjoon said and Jin smiled by the reverse situation.
"I don't think you would." Jin said and Namjoon smiled too. Jin finally lifted his head and looked at Namjoon. "You really wouldn't mind being with an omega like me?"
"No. In fact I would feel blessed to be with an omega like you." Namjoon said and Jin felt sort of special.
"Alright." Jin answered.
"Alright?"
"We can be togerher if you really want to." Jin said and this time he didn't blush even though he normally would.
"Well I really want to. So Jin do you want to be my mate?" Namjoon asked and Jin smiled brightly.
"Yes I do." Jin said and Namjoon pulled him in. Their lips met in an even more wonderful kiss than they had shared under the moonlight.
"I'm really happy you came to that night in the woods." Namjoon said when they pulled away, their foreheads resting against each other.
"So am I." Jin said and they kissed again. Namjoon insisted they spend the rest of the day in the hut and told the others to leave them alone. So all day they spend in Namjoon's hut cuddling close, kissing and talking. Jin hadn't felt so comfortable and safe for a long time. In the evening Jin made dinner for them and Jimin came over and told him that everyone was happy for the two of them and Hwan semmed to have learned his lesson. Jin was happy to hear that but in the end it didn't matter he had Namjoon and that was all that ever mattered to him. Now every night Jin fell asleep in Namjoon's arms, the moonlight peaking in from the curtains and Jin knew that was where he was meant to be for the rest of his life and so he was.
