Hey guys, I am so sorry that it's been some time since I've updated, just got a bit busy that's all. Though, I'm afraid that's no excuse since all you've wonderful readers have been patiently waiting for the next update. I just wanted to say a quick sorry and a big thank you to all of you that have stuck by this story. You all keep me inspired and motivated to write and I hope you stick around for more. Don't be afraid to comment and let me know what you all think about the story so far. Now, without further ado, I give you the new chapter.

Jacob's POV

"Whatever I thought could've been was no more than a simple dream." She all but whispered before brushing past me and out of the carriage, most likely leaving the train as well. All I could do was stand there in shock, trying to process just what happened, instead of running after her. 'What just happened?' I thought as I stood all alone in the carriage. 'She can't possibly mean what she said. There's no way she would just leave after all of this, she just can't.' I shook my head as I refused to believe what she said, wanting to believe that she will stay once we're done with Starrick, that she would stay with us, that she would stay with me. Unfortunately, her words sounded damn sure when she spoke, causing my heart to break at the mere thought of her not being here.

"Jacob?" I heard the voice of my sister call out after a few moments of silence. I slowly turned around and, as best as I can, gave her a forced smile, though I knew she could tell that it was nothing more than fake. I could see the sympathy in her eyes, even though she didn't know what happened just moments before.

"Well," I begin to say as I drop the smile, letting a frown take over instead. "That was not what I was expecting, not at all."

"What happened? I just saw (Name) run out of the train and, it looked like she was crying." My heart broke a little more at the fact that (Name) was crying, but it's not like I can do a thing about it. Quickly dismissing the fact, and not wanting to explain what really happened, I decided to ask her a question.

"Evie, did (Name) ever mention anything about leaving once all of this is done? Once we've reclaimed London from Starrick?" I could see from the confused look in her eyes that (Name) had never once mentioned the possibility of leaving, meaning that she made the decision not that long ago.

"What are you talking about, Jacob? Since when has (Name) decided to leave?"

"Must be just recently if you haven't heard about it. Before leaving, she mentioned that she will be leaving once all of this is done, stating that we won't need her anymore."

"That's ridiculous. Once all this is done, it doesn't mean that she shouldn't stick around. Please tell me that you tried to stop her." I could hear a slight pleading tone in her voice, causing me to look to the ground in frustration as I said,

"I couldn't say a damn thing because she left. She wouldn't let me say much of anything, as if her mind has been made up about something, and that nothing could change her decision. Now, she is gone and I don't know where the bloody hell she could be, nor do I have any idea what is going through her mind right now." I clenched my fist as all I could feel in this moment was nothing but frustration, wanting nothing more than to run out of the train, find her and bring her back here, back to me.

"Did she say anything else?" It was quiet as I recalled her last words to me before she ran out.

"She whispered one last thing before she left."

"What was it?"

"Whatever I thought could've been was no more than a simple dream. What was she talking about?" Those words of hers has me really confused, I just can't figure out what she means.

"Oh, Jacob." Was all Evie said after I spoke and I couldn't help but feel annoyed.

"What is it now, oh dear sister of mine?"

"How can you not know by now?" By now, I was fed up with this whole thing.

"Bloody hell, I've had enough of this. This whole thing is so frustrating and it's annoying the hell out of me. I'm calling it a day, since there's nothing more we can do right now." I said as I let out a sigh.

"You could go and look for her, you know." Evie said.

"And what would that accomplish, exactly? By the looks of it, she doesn't particularly want to see me right at this moment, and I have no idea why."

"Honestly, how oblivious can you be? Even after everything I have told you, you still can't figure it out."

"Then why not spell it out for me, since I'm so oblivious?"

"You're unbelievable, you know that. I'm done talking to you, so I'm going to leave you to your rest while I go look for (Name). Who knows what trouble she might find herself in? Especially when she's meant to be recovering." Without another word, Evie left the carriage. I wanted to follow her, heaven knows how much I wanted to. But then, I thought about how much (Name) probably doesn't want to see me, so I stayed and hoped that she was alright. 'What the hell is going on? What is it that I'm meant to know already?' I ponder over this thought as I lay down on my bed, exhaustion beginning to take over from such a long day.

End of POV

I looked up towards the sky, admiring how beautiful the stars look tonight. 'Such a beautiful night.' I begin to think as the moonlight shines down on me, creating a calming aura that surrounds me. I let out a sigh as I closed my eyes and enjoyed what little peace I have found. 'When all is said and done, where does that leave me? Do I really want to go back? Or was that just a spur of the moment decision? Do I really want to leave Evie, Henry and Jacob? Do I really want to say goodbye?'  I thought as I pondered over my decision.

"(Name)?" I heard a familiar voice speak out from behind me after a few moments of silence. Knowing who the voice belongs to, I kept my eyes closed and said,

"Good evening, Evie." I heard her footsteps approach before she took a seat beside me.

"It's certainly beautiful tonight." I couldn't help but let out a sigh as I opened my eyes and glanced at her before looking towards the sky once more.

"If only we could enjoy more nights like this, it's calming. Especially after such an exhausting day." Silence followed after I spoke, both of us just enjoying the moment.

"Are you...really leaving once all this is done?" Evie whispered, breaking the silence that's surrounding us.

"Jacob told you?" I asked as I raised an eyebrow at her, wondering just what he had told her after I left.

"Yes. He mentioned how you decided to leave once we're done, and that we won't be needing you anymore. Is that how you really feel?"

"It is."

"Why?"

"I'm no one special, Evie. I'm an assassin, an ally, nothing more and nothing less. I came to London to help you, Jacob and Henry. Once London is free, I intend to go back home."

"You can't honestly believe that. You're more than just an ally, you're our friend. Once we're done, we don't want you to leave, Jacob doesn't want you to leave. Besides, why would you go back home when you have a home here, with us? You didn't decided this just because of what was said between you and Jacob, did you?" I couldn't help but look at her in shock at the words she spoke.

"Evie, whatever it was that was developing between Jacob and I, it's no longer there. Whatever I thought could've been..." before I could say anymore, she interrupted me.

"Was no more than a simple dream."

"Ah, so he heard me."

"Yes. But he is so oblivious and, no matter what I tell him, he just doesn't get it." I could hear the frustration in her voice and couldn't help but giggle just a bit.

"Oh, Evie. Your brother is really something special."

"You seem awfully calm after everything that's happened between you and my brother."

"Must be the moonlight, there's something about it that's just so calming. Besides, I've had time to think about everything."

"And what have you come up with?"

"Perhaps I was too brash in making a decision about leaving. Of course, I'll stay until the end, but after, I am unsure. This thing between Jacob and I, will no longer be an issue since I ended it before we could both get distracted from what we are meant to do. We're ally's, more like friends, and that's all it will be. What I feel for Jacob, I must simply suppress and focus on the task at hand. Whatever you guys need, I am at your disposable." I bowed my head as nothing more was said and looked to the sky once more, a new found determination coursing through my body.
