(Shawn POV)
"What's the matter, Shaw?" I hadn't noticed that I was anxiously tapping my foot on the ground, it's been awhile that I found out that that kids name is Sabo. I've been avoiding him & he's been doing the same to me, Luffy seemed to notice my weird behaviour, same with Ace but that was towards Sabo
"O-Oh? Nothing to serious kid, sorry if I'm worrying you." I say as I ruffle his hair, he grabbed my hand & moved it to the side as he pouted at me
"I mean it Shaw, your not acting like you ever since you found out Sabo's name!" I look away "Can you please tell me what's wrong?" I make him let go of my hand & I give him a soft look
"Sorry kiddo, maybe some other time." I throw my hood over my head as I put my hands in my pocket
"Shaw? Where are you going?!" he asked me as he grabbed my arm, I look at him & smiled warmly
"Just for a walk, I won't be long." I assured him, he hesitantly nodded as he reluctantly let me go. I take one step & look back at Luffy before shaking my head & walking off, I think I'm being a jerk to Luffy now. I grit my teeth as I kick a rock into the distance, I sigh & ran a hand through my hair
My hood fell down & I look around, I don't think I've been here before. There was a lake that looked untouched & there were animals that playfully roamed around. I sat down near the lake & saw it glitter in the sunlight. Suddenly I felt something tug against the hem of my hoodie so I look down
It was a fox, it had bright orange fur with white & dark black in. Wide brown eyes the curiously stared back into my own, it leaned forward & accidentally bumped its nose on mine so I sneeze. It jumped back at my sudden action as it's tail & ears stood up
"Hey now, no need to be scared. I'm not gonna hurt you." I slowly extend my hand out to the little guy & it slowly approached my hand, it sniffed once or twice before leaning into my hand "That's right, its okay." suddenly it climbed up my arm & sat behind my neck
It pressed itself on my neck as it laid on my shoulders, I laugh lightly to myself as I throw my hood over my head again but this time, his or her head was lying on my lift shoulder as its tail laid hanging on my right
"Here's a question, you a girl or boy?" it made a noise at girl "So you can understand me, you have a name?" she thought for awhile before shaking her head, I had a thinking face "How about I call you... Volpina (who knows Volpina)?" she suddenly started nodding
I laugh as I balance on a log & walk across it, I started thinking about Sabo & I groan to myself. It hurts to think about the past, it gives me a headache
(Sabo POV)
I watch from a tree as Shawn walked across a log with a fox on his shoulders, I lean against the tree & rub my temples. I look back down & saw that he was gone, lately I've been avoiding him & he's been doing the same to me, hell even Ace has been screaming at me
"What has he done to make you so uncomfortable, Sabo?!"
"You wouldn't understand, Ace!"
"I would if you'd tell me!" I shook my head at him
"No you wouldn't! It happened far before I met you, & I'm not even sure that's the Shawn I'm talking about."
"Then that's a good thing, it means you've been over reacting for no apparent reason idiot!" I sigh
"I guess your right."
"When am I not?"
"A lot if times." that made me laugh, I should probably talk to him, or maybe Luffy. They seem awfully close, I start climbing down the tree & made my way back to the old hut & saw that Shaw & Ace caught something
"Hey Shaw! What's that around your neck?" Luffy asked as he pointed to it, he slowly moved his hood back & asleep around his neck was that fox
"Her name is Volpina, a friend I just made." he replied as he pet her head
"That's pretty cool." I whispered, but apparently he heard me & looked at me, we awkwardly stare at each before Luffy & Ace pull us away
"You wouldn't mind if I take him would you? Thanks...~"
(Third Person POV)
"Shaw/Sabo, I'm serious now. What is going on between you & Sabo/Shaw? Do you guys hate each other or something?" they both did the same thing & rubbed their arms
"I-Its complicated...!" that ticked them off, Ace started choking Sabo as Luffy wrapped his arms around Shaw multiple times, while suffocating him
"Tell me!"
"N-No!" they made them let go as they glared at them "I'm not telling you anything! You wouldn't understand!" they both stormed off, Luffy & Ace were going to follow them but Dadan stopped them
"Leave them alone."
"What? Why?!"
"Look at them, it looks like you broke them." they look over & saw that they did! Sabo looked sad while Shaw looked like he saw something die while seeing a ghost at the same time "Leave them be, we'll figure what's going on between sooner or later."
"But--" she already left, the duo look at each other before looking at the blondes
'What's going on?!'
