EDWARD'S POV:
I left Kirsten at the clinic. She has to be examined by the University doctor. I told the nurse to look after her. I'm with my friends at room 403.
"So, where's Kirsten?" Marco asked.
"She's at the clinic. Kailangan sya tignan nung doctor at para ma-therapy na rin. I told the nurse to look after her." I said in details.
"Buti nahabol ka nya kanina." Gerard.
"About that, pwede ba sa next time don't you ever tell her to chase me. You all know na sumusunod sya sa mga sinasabi nyo. Natapilok tuloy yung tao. Buti nalang yun lang nangyari sa kanya, dahil kapag nagkataon lagot kayong lahat sakin." I threatened. Alam na nga nilang prone sa disgrasya yung girlfriend ko, mali pa iaadvised nila.
"Si Christian kaya nagsabing habulin ka nya." Cornillo.
"Malay ko bang hahabulin ka talaga nya, parang nagbibiro lang ako eh. Sineryoso ba nman!" Christian.
"Don't give me that crap! You all know that she's too naive, malamang she will take it seriously." I stated firmly.
Marco shrugged his shoulder. "Sorry dude. That aint gonna happen again. But kidding aside, kumusta na kayo?"
"We're fine." Matipid na sagot ko. Alam ko naman kasi kung saan papunta 'tong usapan na 'to.
"Now that Lyan is out of the picture, my chance bang maging totohanan na yang sa inyo ni Kirsten?" Christian.
"Malabo pare, kakasabi lang nya sakin na wla kaming emotional attachment." Yes, nag-iba mood ko kanina nung sinabi nya sa kin yun. Well, I cannot blame her. It's one of my rules after all.
"Wala nga ba talaga bro?" Cornillo.
I shrugged my shoulders. "Wala." I answered blankly.
"Hanggang ngayon pa rin ba magdedeny ka pa? You almost go nuts nung nalaman mong nawawala sya after the soccer game. Then when you found out about what happened to her, hindi ka tumigil ng kakahanap kung sino may gawa nun sa kanya." Christian
"At nung nalaman mong si Lyan yung nanakit sa kanya, tinapon mo lhat ng pinagsamahan nyo para lang maipaghiganti si Kirsten. You even wasted 10 days para lang alagaan sya na kahit kelan hindi mo nagawa sa ibang tao sa buong buhay mo. Hindi pa ba pagmamahal yan?" Marco.
"Hindi."
"Man up bro! Kung mahal mo na, sabihin mo na. Malay mo matulungan ka namin. Para at least maski isa man lang sa ating lima ang sumaya." Gerard.
"I don't know what you're talking about." I said coldly.
"Deny pa more! Until when are you planning to hide your feelings for her dude?" Christian.
"I'm not hiding anything, so please spare me of your interrogations!" Bakit ba ang kulit nila? Kelan pa sila naging concern sa nararamdaman ko?
"Ewan ko sayo!" Marco said impatiently. "Come to think of it, lately, you read books that she read; you started watching movies that she loves, you learned to cook her favorite food and you downloaded her favorite songs and even memorized the lines and now you're telling us that you don't have feelings for her? Like seriously?" Marco.
"I just want to have something that we can talk about. Ang hirap naman kung di ako makakarelate sa kanya." Why do I sound so defensive? F*ck!
"That's a very lame reasoning dude!" He shook his head. "Haven't you realized that you're doing everything just to please her, but the question is, does she know? And does she even know that you broke up with Myrtle and Aika? Sa nakikita namin kasi pareho kayong mahilig sa taguan eh." Cornillo.
"Taguan?" I asked curiously.
"Yes, taguan ng feelings!" Nil exclaimed.
"Why don't you just admit it...that the cold-hearted Edward has finally fallen in love." Marco.
I shook my head. "You know what, ang corny nyo! Can we please stop with this nonsense conversation?" I said irately.
"You can call us corny all you want but at least we're not in denial." Gerard mocked.
"I'm not in denial, kasi hindi naman talaga. Period!"
"You can fool the whole world of your deceptions but not us. We've never seen you being so affected for a girl. Kasi para sayo ang babae laruan lang but seeing you right now, you've changed a lot."
"Changed a lot? I still look as it is." I said sarcastically.
"Yeah, you still look exactly the same. But your heart, it changes you a lot."
"Ts! You're just imagining things."
"Are we?" Marco.
I was about to answer Marco when...
"Hi guys!" A cheerful greeting made us all turned our gaze at the front door. My eyebrows furrowed sardonically when I saw her.
"Babe?" I stood up and went near her. "What are you doing here? I told you to stay at the clinic." I said while helping her walk towards the nearest chair.
"Ang boring kasi sa clinic eh. And besides, wala naman ng masakit sa akin." She said after she was settled in a chair.
"I told you to wait for me there, hindi mo na naman ako sinunod." I uttered impatiently. "Who brought you here?"
"Wala. I went here by myself. Oh di ba, nakaya ko magpunta dito using these crutches." She said confidently.
I stared at her impassively. "Hindi nakakatuwa Kirsten."
"Oh bakit, ano na naman bang nasabi ko? Di ba nakaya ko naman talaga pumunta dito mag-isa?"
"Yes. Pero pano kung may nangyaring masama sayo?" Bakit kasi ang tigas ng ulo ng babaeng 'to! "Ang hirap sayo ginagawa mong laro ang lahat."
"Dude alis muna kami." Said Marco. I just nodded in response.
"Hindi naman sa ganon. I'm sorry if you felt that way pero gusto ko lang naman ma-try kong kaya ko na talaga." She explicated.
"You don't know how worried I am nung may mangyaring masama sayo, I even blame myself for not being there when you need me. Tapos ngayon, umalis kana naman sa clinic ng hindi ko alam. Pano na lang kung may magtangka ulit sayo while you're on your way here? Kirsten naman please, wag naman sana ganun."
"I'm sorry..."
I let out a deep sigh. "Don't you ever do it again, are we clear?" She nodded. "I can't lose you. I just can't."
I shook my head as I try to calm myself. A deafening silence follows then all of a sudden, I am lost for words. Bakit ba kasi ako nagkakaganito? Tama nga ba sila Marco? Am I really in love with her kaya ganito na lang ako ka-affected sa kanya? Is this really love? Damn it! Kung ano man 'tong nararamdaman ko, ayoko nito! This strange feeling I have for her is really making me nuts. Ugh! Lintik na damdamin 'to, pinapahirapan ako!
I took a deep breath. I have to break the silence. "C'mon, let's go back to the clinic." I stood up and laid my hand in front of her.
"Can we talk kahit sandali lang?"
"Okay." I sat on a vacant chair in front of her. "Anong pag-uusapan natin?"
"May problema ba tayo?" Bigla ay tanong nya.
"Wala naman. Why you asked?"
"Since I came back, you've been acting weird. Are we really okay?"
"Yes. I don't see any problem."
"Are you mad at me? Please be honest."
"No. Of course not, why would I?"
"I don't know. I have a gut feeling na galit ka sa kin. Please, sana sabihin mo sa kin kung galit ka para alam ko kung ano gagawin ko."
"Hindi nga. Walang problema, okay?" I insisted.
"Pwede ba namang yung wala? Kanina ka pa kasi ganyan... bigla na lang nagbago mood mo. Tapos nung kumakain tayo ng lunch bigla ka nalang nag-walk out, kaya impossibleng wala."
"Pagod lang siguro ako." I lied. Because the truth is, I am so confuse right now.
"Dahil ba sakin?"
"No."
"Sorry na oh, kung ano man yung nagawa ko, sorry..." She said desolately.
"Why are you saying sorry? Wala kang kasalanan."
"Kahit naman kasi hindi mo sabihin, ramdam ko na may mali. Hindi ka basta-basta magiging ganyan kung walang problema." Yeah, you're right. There is something wrong, I just couldn't tell you.
"You're just being paranoid. Wala nga." I stated firmly.
"I know you're getting tired of me because I am such a weakling. Kaya you're always there to help me all the time. Sometimes, wala ka ng time sa ibang bagay kasi lahat ng atensyon mo binubuhos mo sa kin. Instead of focusing on other things, nahahati oras mo. And I'm so sorry for that." She uttered then tears were slowly falling down her cheeks.
I went near her and wipe her tears using my thumb. "Shh...why would you even think of that? Hindi yan totoo. I will never get tired of you okay?" I kissed her in the forehead. "Masaya ako na inaalagaan ka, this may sound absurd but I am willing to take care of you for the rest of my life." Sh*t! For the rest of your life? Where did that came from Edward?
"Huh?" She asked skeptically.
Damn it Edward! Anong isasagot mo? "Uhm...I mean, I will take care of you as long as I can. Yeah, that's what I mean." Sinong niloko mo Edward? You sound so defensive! "Bakit mo ba kasi naisip yang mga bagay na yan? I asked to change the topic.
"Eh kasi, sabi mo pagod ka. So I thought, you're tired because of me."
I let out a subtle sigh. "Hay, ang assumera ng girlfriend ko." I joked.
"Hindi kaya. Women intuition ang tawag dun."
"Iniba mo lang ang term pero ganon pa rin yun. Bakit kasi kayong mga babae ang hilig nyo mag-assume? Kaya namimisinterpret nyo kaming mga lalaki eh dahil dyan." She just shrugged her shoulders. "It has nothing to do with you okay. I'm fine, I'm just tired. End of story."
"Yes boss. Sabi mo eh." She giggled.
"Nahahawa ka na yata sa pagiging bipolar ko babe. Kanina lang umiiyak ka, tapos ngayon tumatawa ka na." I teased.
"Tse! Wala pa rin tatalo sa pagiging bipolar mo!" She said jokily.
I just stared at her gently. She smiled picturesquely! At makita ko lang syang masaya, solved na ko. Her happiness is all I need to take away whatever doubts I have in me. I just hope, one day, I'll have the courage to tell her everything...
