Melanie POV
Finally arriving back home, the next morning I quickly shower and decide to check my social media because I haven't done that in a while
To my surprise my notifications are blowing up and some comments are nice and others not so nice
Ignoring it all I decide to go to Jarvis' house unexpectedly
The first two times I rung his doorbell he didn't come, but the third time the door swung open
"WHO IS--Oh you didn't tell me you were coming"
"I didn't think you would answer" I reply sassily
"Why'd you come?" he asks not inviting me in
"To see my best friend, what's going on?" I ask trying to look inside his house, but the door is basically closed
"Right now isn't a good time" he says completely shutting the door and stepping outside
"Hiding something or someONE?" I'm extremely irritated now at how Jarvis has been acting lately
"Don't worry about it Melanie, you don't see me in your business do you?"
"Actually, I do, I don't know why you can't just tell me who you're dating we've been friends for--"
"MELANIE DROP IT" he yells at me
"Fine..." I drift, Jarvis is always super secretive with his relationships so I guess he'll tell me when he's ready
Jarvis POV
"What made you go to California with Odell?" I ask already knowing what she'll say
"I wanted to do something fun and that was his idea of fun"
"Hmm, I'll see you tonight I guess" I say getting ready to talk to my other unexpected guest inside
"What's tonight?" she asks confused
"Team dinner, Odell didn't tell you?" I ask biting my tongue
"No should he have told me..."
"I thought he would've mentioned it, anyway I have practice soon so I'll talk to you later alright Mel"
She finally leaves but knowing Melanie she's not going to let this go
Walking back inside I see Brenda, Odell's ex girlfriend still sitting on my couch
"What do you want Brenda" I ask annoyed
"I want my man back, what is he doing going to California with that bit--"
"Aye that's my best friend, don't talk about her like that"
"Ok, well the point is she stole my man and I need your help getting him back" she says walking over to me
"I'm afraid that's not my place"
"I guess I'll just have to pay Odell a visit myself" she responds awkwardly rubbing my shoulder
"Good luck with that" I say shoving her off
"Tell your friend to watch out k" with that she finally leaves
Odell POV
Practice is finally over and my next stop is Melanie's house
Until I'm cut off by the last person I expected to see
"What do you want Brenda?" I ask trying my best to walk past her
"You" she says placing both her hands on my shoulders, but I quickly knock them off
"What's wrong Odell?" she asks innocently
"I told you once, I'm not gonna tell you again" with that I try walking away again
"You know you can't forget about me Dell" she says tracing her fingers on my arm
"Don't play with me" I say bluntly
"I'll come to your place right now if you want" she says leaning in to kiss me and Jarvis appears out of nowhere thankfully
Brenda slips something into my pocket and walks away quickly
"Just gonna play my best friend like that?" Juice asks and I can tell he's pissed
"Look nothing happened and nothing is going to happen, I'm over Brenda completely. She keeps popping up randomly thinking I'm going to take her back, but I'm not"
"That's not what I just saw"
"As I said nothing was going to happen, don't mention this to Melanie alright Juice?"
"I'm not, you are"
Melanie POV
I finally got home to take a nap after being at my boutique for the last five hours and literally ten minutes laters my doorbell rings
"UGHHHHHH" I scream out loud
Slamming the door open I see Odell on the other side
"What?" I snap
"That time of the month?" he chuckles walking inside
"Odell I don't think it's funny"
"Okkk I was just kidding, how's my baby" he says kissing my forehead
"Not your baby" I say stomping upstairs to my room and he follows me
Laying face down on my bed he sits next to me
"What's wrong Mel?" he asks rubbing my back
"Nothing" I lie
"Did I do something?" he asks
"I don't know, did you?" I ask flipping over and looking at him
"Did Jarvis tell you?" he asks as if he already knows the answer
"Have any plans tonight?" I ask sitting up and looking him in the eyes to see if he's about to lie
"Look, nothing happened between her and I--"
I cut him off "Wait, what are you talking about?"
He looks confused and says "what are you talking about?"
"Who is she?"
"What did Jarvis tell you?" he asks instantly pissing me off
"FORGET ABOUT JARVIS ODELL, THIS IS A CONVERSATION BETWEEN YOU AND I, YOU ARE OBVIOUSLY HIDING SOMETHING" I scream
"NO MELANIE I'M NOT, STOP BEING SUCH A--" he raises his hand and stops himself
I flench and memories of how Cameron and I use to fight when we argued came back
"Mel" Odell says grabbing me and pulling me onto his lap and a tear rolls down my face "I would never hit you" he calmly says kissing my cheek
"I just want you to be honest with me Odell" I say turning and looking at him
"Brenda popped up today and Jarvis saw us talking, but nothing happened, she's irrelevant and I'm only thinking about you" he responds
"What about the team dinner, were you going to invite me?" I ask
"That's why I came here" he answers
Smiling again I lean in to kiss him and he deepens the kiss
Turning to straddle him he wraps his arms around my waist and continues the kiss
"Should we start getting ready?" I ask pulling away and he smirks and laughs
"What?" I ask laughing
"We could just keep doing this"
"After dinner, we can continue" I laugh
He jumps up and says "let's not waste time then" and grabs his car keys
As he gets up something falls out of his pocket and it's a note that says
'Dell baby this is my new number XXX-XXX-XXXX, see you later tonight...'
I guess he should've checked his pockets
"Odell"
"What?" he responds turning around
"What's in your pocket?"
