Forgotten
Last night I laid awake
Wondering how I was able to take
All the trouble you went and made
Just to try to make me break
Well here I am now
Still don't know how
Divine intervention saved me
Before you brought me down
Don't know if I ever again
Can try to learn to love again
You were never there for me
Enough that you were forgotten
All the black and ugly things inside
That you fought so hard to try to hide

Should've been together for all of time

It built for years, even decades
Then began to sway
It was for many, many years
That I choked my heart and fought back tears
Trying not to hate you
But you kept fueling my fears
Finally the time had come
For me to pick up and run
Forget all you did, forget about you
But it's too late, the damage was done
Now my tears belong to yesterday
My pain and fears have passed away
All that's left to do's forget
And let my heart fly away
Opportunities now greet me
