Jungkook walked hand in hand with his boyfriend down the street. The sun was shining and it was a nice afternoon. Namjoon was saying something when he suddenly stopped and pulled Jungkook closer. He leaned down and kissed Jungkook's lips sweetly. Jungkook's heart fluttered slightly until he saw why he had done it. Paparazzi's were on the other side of the street following them. Namjoon put an arm around Jungkook's waist as they continued to walk. Jungkook sighed slightly and his mood dropped in an instant.
"Sorry babe but we might as well give them what they want." Namjoon said but Jungkook didn't answer. He hated when Namjoon would do such thing and longed for the days where their relationship didn't feel made up. He didn't really know when he lost his boyfriend's true personality but it was eating him up. Namjoon was a famous rapper, and Jungkook could not be more proud of him, but he kept wondering if the fame had really gotton to his head and how could he make it stop.
They were almost at their apartment when Namjoon like a reflex turned them around so the paparazzi went crazy.
"Smile." Namjoon whispered and Jungkook put his best smile on for his boyfriend. Namjoon looked at Jungkook and put a finger under his chin. He kissed him again very gently. Jungkook didn't want to embarress him so he kissed back and when they pulled away he smiled. He was getting use to this as Namjoon would do it quite a lot but his mood would always be ruined for the day and rocks filled his stomach up. Then finally they went up to their apartment and Namjoon let go of Jungkook's waist. They sat on the couch with a distance between them which didn't use to be there.
"You should smile." Namjoon said.
"I'm just tired." Jungkook responded which wasn't a complete lie. He was tired of Namjoon's behavior. He loved Namjoon very much but he still missed the fun and loving Namjoon he was before.
"I know what I can do to bring out a smile." Namjoon said and Jungkook hoped it wasn't what he thought it was but unfourtanly it was. Namjoon stood up and went to his studio. Namjoon would always give Jungkook expensive presents that he in no way needed. His closet were filled with designer clothes and he had jewelry for so much money he could feed a village. "Here you go." Namjoon said and gave Jungkook a small box which meant it was jewelry. He unpacked it and opened the box, it was a very nice silver ring, no doubt that it was designer and very expensive.
"Thank you." Jungkook said and leaned in. He kissed Namjoon sweetly so he wouldn't notice his lack of smile. "You do know that you don't have to give me all these expensive things right?"
"Yeah but only the best it's good enough for my babe." Namjoon said. He took the ring out of the box and let it slip on Jungkook's finger. "I thought you could wear it for our two years anniversary tomorrow." Jungkook looked up at Namjoon, he almost sounded as soft as he use to sound. It made Jungkook move a little closer and put a hand on his arm.
"I will." Jungkook said. "Did you make the reservations for that restaurant?" Jungkook asked. They were going to a classy five star restaurant which was very hard to get in unless you had made reservations a month before.
"No I'm Rap Monster. They have to let me in." Namjoon said and just like that the moment was gone. Jungkook moved his hand away and looked down on his new ring.
"They don't have to. I think you should call and ask if there's a table tomorrow or not. If there isn't we'll eat somewhere else." Jungkook said in the calmest tone possible.
"Fine I'll call." Namjoon said and got up. He got his phone and called. "Hi I would like to make a reservation for tomorrow...filled up? Don't you know who I am? I'm Rap Monster, the famous rapper...Yeah I thought so, I'll see you tomorrow." Jungkook was shocked to hear Namjoon use his name like that. He had done it some time before and it disgusted Jungkook how he could just do that.
"I told you we could eat somewhere else if there wasn't room." Jungkook said trying to contain himself.
"Yeah I know but I want you to be happy." Namjoon said and turned the tv on. Jungkook was angry and decided not to answer. He told Namjoon he would take a shower and took extra long with it. He let the hot water run down his body and wash the anger away. When he came out he had calmed down. Though they didn't talk much the rest of the night and when they went to bed Jungkook lay with his back against Namjoon, hoping tomorrow his boyfriend might wake up from being like that.
The next day they sat in the cab, all dressed up and ready to go to the restaurant. Namjoon had been really nice all day and Jungkook thought to himself, he might be getting him back. When they got out of the cab however Namjoon forced Jungkook to stop. A paparazzi was there and Namjoon pulled Jungkook in and kissed him like there was no tomorrow. When he pulled away Jungkook was a little dizzy and his mood dropped as it always did. He really couldn't stand it. Then they finally walked in and got their table.
"I'll give you some time to decide." The waiter handed them the menu cards and wanted to walk away.
"Hey where do you think you're going?' Namjoon said in nasty tone. "We'll like to order a wine." Jungkook had dropped his jaw slightly to hear his boyfriend talk like that. Namjoon told him the wine name and told him to hurry back. Jungkook decided not to say anything and looked at the menu. It all looked very good and he had a hard time deciding. Then the waiter came back with the wine. He poured a little up to Namjoon and he tasted it.
"Yes good enough. Pour it but don't you dare spill one drop." Namjoon said and Jungkook tried to ignore the human being infront of him that was meant to be his boyfriend.
"Ready to order?" The waiter asked. Jungkook could tell he felt uncomfortable and he didn't blame him.
"Yes I'll have number 3." Jungkook said in a nice tone and gave him a little smile.
"I'll have number 7 and don't mess it up!" Namjoon said and Jungkook almost rolled his eyes. They gave back the menu cards and he left. "So babe. Two years, that's a long time."
"It is." Jungkook said and took a sip of the wine.
"I'm really happy that I have you. You've been like my rock through all of this." Namjoon said. Jungkook blushed it had been a long time since Namjoon had talked in that voice and said something so nice. "It dosn't hurt either that the fans love us." Jungkook dropped his eyes as he said that.
"I guess not." Was the only response from Jungkook.
"Oh did I tell you..." Namjoon kept talking about something new but Jungkook was hardly listening. He was happy when their food arrived and it broke Namjoon's endless string of words.
"Here you go." The waiter said.
"That was about time! I don't think I should have to remind you I'm Rap Monster. I'm probably the most important guest you have." Namjoon said. Jungkook pressed his lips together and held so tightly around his knee he thought it might bruise. The waiter said some apology but Namjoon waved him off with his hand. They started to eat and Namjoon kept telling about the story from before. When they were halfway done Namjoon was still talking but about something new. Jungkook would occasionally answer but doubted it was the right answer he gave, though Namjoon didn't seem to notice. Then the waiter came back and asked if they needed anything.
"Yes some peace and quiet!" Namjoon said again in the same nasty voice. The waiter walked away without saying a thing but Jungkook was filled up.
"Namjoon don't you think you should talk a little nicer to him?" Jungkook said trying hard to control how high he talked.
"What do you mean?" Namjoon said.
"Are you seriously telling me you can't hear how nasty you talk to him?" Jungkook said now anger showing in his voice.
"He'a not a very good waiter." Namjoon said getting angry too.
"He is a perfectly fine waiter and the most important, he has feelings! You treat him like he's trash." Jungkook said rasing his voice slightly.
"I'm not! I can't believe you would say such thing!" Namjoon said. Jungkook could see they had caught the paparazzi's attention as they were taking pictures from outside and a few from inside but in the moment he didn't care.
"You are and I hate it!" Jungkook said. Namjoon reached over as he saw the paparazzi's and grabbed Jungkook's hand.
"Let's calm down and talk about this at home." Namjoon said with a gentle tone. Though it only made Jungkook mad. He pulled his hand away and was overwhelmed with feelings he had kept inside way too long. Tears started to stream down his face and he couldn't stop them.
"You don't get it, do you? It's not just about the waiter! It's everything." Jungkook said the tears refusing to stop. "I feel a trophy instead of your boyfriend!"
"Jungkook I-" Namjoon started and Jungkook could tell he felt bad but in the moment he didn't care. He was hurt and angry. Namjoon looked at Jungkook speachless as Jungkook was crying and paparazzi's were all around them taking pictures of the new headline in tomorrows gossip news.
"I can't do this anymore, I'm exhausted." Jungkook said. He got up and left Namjoon who didn't even call after him. Jungkook pushed through the paparazzi's asking for a word and got into a cab. He told him his friends address and when he came over there he was even more in tears. Jimin his friend talked to him and made him come down and somewhere along the way as they talked lying in his bed Jungkook fell asleep.
The next day Jungkook woke up and checked his phone. The news were all over that the two of them had fought with direct quotes and pictures. Jungkook sighed and got up to see Jimin had made breakfast.
"Hey how are you feeling?" Jimin asked and gave Jungkook some breakfast.
"Like crap." Jungkook answered and started to eat.
"I'm sorry Jungkook. You can stay as long as you want." Jimin said with worry in his eyes.
"Thank you." Jungkook answered. They both ate in silence as a knock sounded on the door. Jimin got up to open it. Jungkook could hear low voices talking, he thought it might be Namjoon and walked to the door. Jungkook choked up slightly when he saw Namjoon. He looked tired like he hadn't slept for days. His eyes were puffy probably from crying. His clothes were wrinkled and his hair was a mess.
"I'm sure he dosn't want to talk to you." Jimin said and tried closing the door.
"Please Jimin, he's my everything." Namjoon said and his voice was mushy. Jimin opened his mouth to say something again but Jungkook beat him to it.
"Jimin it's okay." Jungkook said and their eyes shifted to Jungkook. "Let him in." Jimin nodded and moved so Namjoon could come inside. He ran to Jungkook and hugged him tightly but Jungkook didn't hug back.
"I'll give you some privicy." Jimin said and went to another room.
"What do you want?" Jungkook said and was suprised to hear his own voice being so cold it could cut ice.
"Jungkook I'm so sorry." Namjoon said and finally let go.
"I'm sure you are but I don't know if you understand why you should be sorry. Every since you made it big it's like I've lost you. You give me presents I don't want. Everytime there is paparazzi's around you suddenly get all couple like. And you use your name to get everything you want. I don't even know who you are." Jungkook said upset.
"I guess I didn't know how bad it was but trust me this made me realise how much of an ass I've been, not only to you but to everyone. I want to be the Namjoon you fell in love with. Not the Rap Monster you hate. If I lose you I'm not even sure I can be that Rap Monster, it would be like losing a piece of me." Namjoon said. He did sure sound like the old Namjoon but there was no way to be sure. When Jungkook didn't say anything it was like he got more desperate. "I didn't kiss you and stuff infront of the paparazzi's because I wanted you to be a trophy. I did it because I was proud that an amazing guy like you loved me. I did it to show the world how lucky I was. I can understand why you thought like that but it was not how I meant it and I'm sorry if it came across like that. Also the presents, I gave them to you because that was the least thing I could do. I don't know how to repay you for supporting me and staying with me even though it was hard. I wanted to get you everything you wanted. I used my name wrong, I understand that and I know it all got to my head. I wanted to impress you and I was proud I finally made it. I guess I showed it wrong. Can't you see everything I did, I did it for you. You're the love of my life, and I don't know what to do without you. So please I know I've been bad but for you I'll change. I don't want to be that guy anymore. I want to be someone you love like you loved me before." Jungkook's heart ached from the words. It hurt him to see Namjoon standing there desperat, his confidence gone but at the same time it was nice hearing him say that. He finally got a reason as to why.
"Love." Jungkook said.
"What?" Namjoon asked not understanding.
"You said 'like you loved me.' I didn't stop loving you. I still do." Jungkook said. He didn't know quite what to do. He thought about a life without Namjoon but it was hard to imagine. Then just as he decided a voice came from the door.
"Ah just forgive him already!" Jimin's voice sounded. "Don't you see him? He's willing to change! You just said you lo-"
"Thank you Jimin." Jungkook said and Jimin smiled brightly before closing the door.
"Listen it's not that I don't want to forgive you. I'm just scared that you'll forget and become like that again." Jungkook said honest.
"I can't promise you I won't but what I can promise is that if I do, you can tell me and I'll make damn sure to stop." Namjoon said. Jungkook searched his face and saw nothing but sincerity. He walked to Namjoon and cared his cheek.
"Of course I'll forgive you. You mean the world to me too." Jungkook said.
"Really?" Namjoon asked.
"Yes." Jungkook answered and pulled Namjoon into a kiss. It was by far the best kiss they had, had in months and that's how Jungkook became completly sure of his decision When they pulled away Namjoon didn't let go off Jungkook.
"I love you so much." Namjoon said.
"I love you too." Jungkook said.
"Do you want to come with me home?" Namjoon asked.
"Of course." Jungkook said and kissed Namjoon on the cheek. Jungkook gathered his stuff and said goodbye and thank you to Jimin. When they went out lucky there was no paparazzi's. They took a cab home holding hands. When they got home they spend the day talking things out completely and being a couple in private. By the end of the night Jungkook felt much better and knew Namjoon had fianlly returned to him and it was the best feeling in the world.
