Henry's POV-
When Charlotte and I walked home together later that day, she just couldn't stop signing to me about Kid Danger and how great he was.
I mean it was kinda weird. I never thought I'd get sick of myself.
"Char? Do you think maybe we can talk about something else for a while?"
I asked her, letting my finger swing through the air to indicate a while.
She blinked at me, then nodded.
"Yeah, sure... No problem."
Since all Charlotte wanted to talk about was Kid Danger the rest of the walk home was quiet.
I had to tell her who I was really soon, the more I waited the more anxious I got. And I can tell she's getting suspicious as well.
How long can I keep lying to her?
And to my parents. Hiding her in my room hasn't been that easy. I still have to figure out a way to help her.
Even that was stressing me out.
Once Charlotte and I reached my house, I went through the front door and she climbed up to my room using the tree.
I opened the window and helped her inside again.
Then since I wasn't hungry I took a shower and Charlotte did some homework until I was finished.
When I came out I had my towel around my waist. I forgot to grab some clothes before going into the bathroom.
Charlotte's eyes widened when she saw me, she used her notebook to cover once side of her face.
I chuckled to myself.
I wouldn't mind giving her a little peep show.
But instead I grabbed my clothes and went back into the bathroom.
Charlotte would never want to see me in that way.
Thinking about that killed my mood.
I got dressed and stared at my reflection in the mirror.
I was pretty good looking. I flexed my muscles, and strong. I made a face in the mirror, I'm pretty bad ass but still sexy too.
So why doesn't she like me?
I sighed and leaned against the counter, shaking my head.
Charlotte was gorgeous, smart, and just being around her made my heart do weird things.
But she had a gigantic crush on Kid Danger and if only she knew that I was Kid Danger!
It was gonna be hard to tell her the truth but... At least I'll know where I stand with her afterwards.
When I got out of the bathroom, Charlotte was finished with her homework.
She was now lazily lounging on my bed with her phone, one of her hands were hidden in her curly hair.
I just gazed at her, not knowing what to say at first.
Just do it Henry. Rip the band-aid off.
I sat down on my bed next to Charlotte.
"Hey, there's something I gotta talk to you about... It's kinda important."
I signed to her. Charlotte looked over at me and sat up.
"Okay, what is it?"
Her expression got serious.
I took a deep breath and rubbed my clammy palms over my sweatpants.
"Well... You know how I took you downstairs at Junk and Stuff to that secret room I told you to never tell anyone about?"
Charlotte studied my signs and then nodded.
"Yeah, what about it?"
Here it comes.
"When you asked me what it was I couldn't really bring myself to tell you at the time but... That room is a the headquarters for Captain Man and Kid Danger."
I waited for her reaction...
Charlotte's mouth dropped open and then she... Smiled?
"Shut up! No way! You took me to Captain Man and Kid Dangers secret hideout?!"
She wasn't taking this as hard as I thought she would. Maybe that's because she still doesn't get it.
I took another deep breath and tired again. My stomach was in knots.
"Charlotte."
I grabbed her hands and looked deep into her eyes.
"I'm Kid Danger."
She just stared at me for a really long time. And blinked rapidly.
Then she pulled her hands away from me.
"No... You can't be. I-I kissed Kid Danger today."
I shook my head.
"You kissed me. I'm sorry I lied to you Char, I'm sorry that I've been keeping this a secret. But nobody else can know that I'm Kid Danger."
She looked more surprised than anything. Her dark brown eyes focused on the floor.
"I kissed... You?"
Her fingers touched her lips then her cheek before she pointed me.
I nodded.
"I know it probably wasn't the best kiss in the world but-"
"No, no I liked it."
She signed back, slowly.
"You did?"
I nearly fell off my bed.
"Yeah..."
She didn't look too happy about that.
Things were quiet and un-moving between us now. My heard was hammering so hard in my chest.
I rubbed the back of my neck and glanced at her.
"So... You're not mad or anything?"
Charlotte bit the corner of her lip.
"Maybe a little... I mean, I thought you were someone else and I feel kinda stupid for kissing you like that."
She admitted.
And there it is.
"I'm really sorry."
Geeze, she was making me feel so bad right now.
"No, it's fine. I'll get over it..."
That's where we decided to drop the conversation.
I finally told her I was Kid Danger and her reaction was... Pretty neutral.
Maybe that's because she feels dumb for coming on to me, even though she said she doesn't have the same feelings I have for her.
I guess now it looks like she lied about those feelings, even though I looked like Kid Danger I was still the same old Henry Hart.
The boy who was still hopelessly hung up on Charlotte Bolton.
Charlotte went to the bathroom and I relaxed onto my bed.
That couldn't have gone any worse.
