"Thanks dude." I tell the uber before shutting the door
I watched as he nods and then drives away. I was so jet lag right now that I could barely roll this big ass suit case up the driveway. Not to mention, it's like almost 11 o'clock at night here.
I huff and tiredly dragged this heavy ass suitcase up the driveway to Cecilia's house - her parents house.
Just the thought of seeing her made me quicken up my pace and somehow got rid of hot tired I was not too long ago. Soon enough, I was at the door step and gently knocking on the door.
It felt weird for me to knock on a door, usually because I just barge into my friends houses or I know where their hidden key is.
I scanned around the outside of the house and just now had noticed the car in the driveway. The door swinging open had caught me off guard for a moment. I them smile down at the short woman that looked a lot like Cecilia.
It's probably her mom, idiot.
I was so amazed by how much her and Cecilia looked so much alike. Now I know who to thank for her beautiful features.
"You must be Kian." She greeted with a welcoming smile
"I-um. Yeah. I'm.. Kian?" I say, sounding unsure myself
A tall man who had tattoos running up his arms and looked like he could break anything or anyone in half just by 2 seconds, appeared right behind Cecilia's mom.
Suddenly I felt like I was going to cry.
"Uh- hi. Sir?" I gulped as I stare up at him
"You Kian?" Shit, even his voice was deep.
"Yes, sir." I nod and held out my hand for him to shake
He stares at my hand and then back up at me before crossing his arms. I blink and just pull my hand back into my front pockets.
He stares at me with a stale face full of seriousness, then out of no where he smiled and began to laugh.
"I'm just messing with ya kiddo" he laughs
My eyes widened as he pulls me into an unexpected bone crushing hug. My arm feels like it just went numb.
Is he even real??
"Don't kill the boy!" The woman that's been standing here the whole time smacked his arm, although, i'm pretty sure that had no type of affect on him.
"Awe, he's okay. I'm sure he's stronger than he looks." He chuckled and pulled back to wrap his arm around the woman's waist
I looked at his left hand and then her left hand and noticed both of them had wedding rings on their ring-finger.
IS THIS HER DAD?
"Oh, shoot! Forgot to introduce ourselves." The lady giggles
"I'm Alison and this is Jerami" she gestured over to the guy that had almost suffocated me not too long ago.
"It's nice to meet you both, Mr and Mrs, Gomez" I shook their hands and smiled
"Please, call us by our first names." She waved off. I just nod in return.
"Oh dear, you must be freezing out here! Come in" both of them step out the way to let me through the door with my luggage
"Thank you, for letting me stay here. Hope I didn't cause any trouble."
"No problem." Jerami nods
"There was no trouble at all." Alison assures
"We'll show you to your room" she motions for me to follow, I do so.
As they chat away and I follow them, I looked around the rooms that we had walked passed or through. Everything was nicely furnished and neat. That had reminded me of how junkie mines and Jc's house was, this causes me to release a small chuckle but I had covered it up just in time with a cough.
I walked upstairs as I follow Alison, not knowing where Cecilia's dad just went.
"Here's your room," she smiled as she opened a door "it's the guest room and this is the only time I got to use it since we just moved in not too long ago."
"Thank you" I nod after walking in to look around the rolm
It just looked like any ordinary room, nothing about it seemed boring or empty.
I drag my suitcase and sat it down next to the bed.
Cecilia.
"Is Cecilia here?" I blurt out
She shook her head "she's at the hospital"
My eyes widened and it felt like my heart dropped "is everything okay? What happened? Is she si-"
"No, silly, she's fine." She assures me
I let out a small sigh of relief before starting at her with a confused expression.
"Why is she there? If you don't mind me asking."
She frowned "her grandpa is sick. She's been in and out of there for 2 weeks now, but she hasn't been home for two days now."
"Damn." I mutter
"Yeah, but we're gonna go pick her up and drag her back home. Feel free to join" She offers
"Sounds great." I smiled at the thought of seeing Cecilia
I can't imagine how she must feels right now. I wish and hope the best for her grandpa.
"I argued with Jer about letting you stay in the say room with Lia, but he refused on it and said anything could happen." Alison rolled her eyes
"Lia?" I questioned
"Cecilia. It's her nickname that we use for her." She explains, and I nod in response.
"I mean, what dad would trust a guy sharing a room with his daughter? Plus, he kind of scares me" I let out a nervous chuckle
She shook her head "you don't have to be afraid of him. He can't even look at a puppy without crying."
"Seriously? It's hard to believe he has a soft spot when he's looks so-" I cut myself short as I remember I was talking about Cecilia's dad and that this is my first time meeting her parents.
I wouldn't wanna end up black and blue after a first impression.
"What?" She smirked "mean? Tough? Intimidating? Trust me, once you get to know him, he's honestly nothing but a sweetheart and a crybaby."
"Sorry, I wasn't trying to be rude." I frown
"It's fine." She laughs "At least you're the first guy who's said it. I'm sure the other guys that know Cecilia, they would've shit themselves and ran off as soon as they seen him in the doorway."
"I mean, you guys are basically old enough to do whatever you want." She shrugged as she walks towards the door "Jer just always overreacts when it comes to guys being in Cecilia's life."
I raised an eyebrow "he didn't overreact when he seen me? I mean, he was acting pretty serious at first but then he said he was joking?"
She sighed with a mischievous grin on her face.
"That's because we told him you were gay."
"O- wait. What?!" I panicked
She winked at me as the door shut closed on her way out.
What the fuck?!

"Dude, I swear to you that I did not cheat on that game" I laughed at Jerami who was ignoring me for beating him at a game that we had played on the playstation he has
"Then how did you get so many bullets so quick?! It was like two minutes before you said you couldn't reload because you had no bullets left!" He huffed as he got out the car
Him and I, including Allison, were now at the hospital to pick up Cecilia. I was so excited to see her, but I was more focused on her dad mad at me for so called "cheating" on a game.
"I already told you, I had another gun that I didn't know already had bullets in it." I smirked and he glared at me
I held my hands up in defense as we continued to walk towards the hospital entrance.
"Seriously, hun, just pay him what you promised. You lost one game, its not the end of the world." Allison rolled her eyes at Jerami
He now stood there and stared at her in shock, "are you seriously taking his side right now??"
I had a stupid grin on my face as I looked at her and then at him before holding my hand out.
"A bet is a bet." I shrug
He huffed before pulling out a 100 dollar note and handing it to me.
"Thanks pops" I pat his shoulder but then quickly pulled away when he stiffened
He frowns at Allison who was giving a him a pointed look. I laughed when he sighs and begin muttering things under his breath as he walked ahead of us.
"See? He can't harm a fly" Allison nudged my arm
I laughed, soon flinching backwards as I watched him kick a trashcan.
"H-he put a dent in it" I looked at the trashcan wide eyed
"But, he can harm a trashcan" Allison chuckled
All three of us walk into the hospital, sounds of coughing now being heard while random people scattered across the room.
Allison and Jermai begin talking to the lady at the front desk, soon being directed to two double doors. Allison nods and now we were walking in that direction.
My palms felt sweaty because of how suddenly nervous I was about seeing Cecilia. I haven't seen her in a while, except for that moment we FaceTimed.
My phone vibrated in my pocket, the flash bringing me out of my thoughts. I pull it out and groaned once I seen who was calling.
"Everything okay?" Allison turned around and stopped walking
"Yea" I nod and smile "i'll catch up with you guys, I have to take a call"
"Alright. The room number is 213" Jerami finally talks
I smirked "It's also the number of times I'll beat you in the game if we continue playing it."
He glares at me before turning around and walking away. Allison sighed and walks away to catch up with him.
I look back at my phone and slid my thumb across the screen to answer the call.
"What's up, Meredith?" I answered
