The sound of my door being opened woke me up. I rose pup and saw Sheri in my closet pulling out all of my clothes and throwing them into a black trash bag.
"Woah, woah what are you doing?" I asked her getting out of my bed.
"You thought I was kidding sweetie?" She laughed then quickly got serious. "Well I wasn't. I want your thot ass out of my house."
She threw the black trash bag at me. "You got 30 minutes." Sheri said and walked out of my room.
I dropped to my knees and began crying. I have no where to go.
Nick entered my bedroom. "Mo it's okay."
"No it's not! Where am I gonna go Nick!? Huh? Where!?" I yelled at him.
"With King."
I sighed and started putting more clothes into the trash bag.
"I don't want to live with him." I said.
"But you wanted to be with him."
I smacked my lips.
"I don't know what else to tell you Mo." Nick said.
I ran my hand through my hair stressfully.
I continued to pack my things until Sheri returned back into my room.
"Times up. Bounce." She said with her arms folded.
I picked up the three large trash bags, I grabbed my phone and charger and the small purse I had.
I walked downstairs and stopped at the door. "Please don't do this-" Sheri pushed me outside.
"Goodbye! Have a nice life. I never want to see your face again." She slammed the front door shut and I heard the locks being turned.
Times like this makes you want your mama. Your real mama. If only I knew who she was.

"Thank you. Have a good day." I said and passed money out to the movers. They just moved me into my new apartment.
Early this morning I got furniture and everything I needed to survive on my own.
I sat back on my couch and looked around. Eighteen and now on my own. This shit wasn't going to be hard for me because I know how to take care of myself.
My ringing phone caused me to become annoyed. I looked and saw it was Nick.
"What bruh." I answered.
"Where are you?"
"Why does it matter?"
"You need to help Mo. She doesn't have anywhere to go."
"That's her problem not mine."
"You're wrong King."
I sighed. I did feel a little sorry for her. Her own sister turned on her, don't know who or where her parents are, and she got kicked out the house.
"Where she at?" I asked Nick.
"Sitting by the stop sign crying."
"Tell her I'm on my way."

When I pulled into the neighborhood I saw Monica sitting in front of the STOP sign with black trash bags next to her.
I stopped my car and got out. I grabbed her trash bags and put them in the trunk.
She sniffed and looked up at me. "What are you doing King?"
"Helping you."
"But why?"
"Because I have a good heart. Now get into the car."
"I'm fine."
"Okay bye." I said and got into the front seat. I put on my seatbelt and started the vehicle back up.
"Wait! I'll come." Mo said and got into the passenger seat.
"That's what I thought." I said then stepped on the gas.
"Thanks so much for letting me come live with you."
"Oh. You're not living with me."
"Then where the hell are you taking me?"
"To the shelter." I told her.
"Stop the car King."
"No we're almost there."
"Stop the motherfucking car!" I slammed on the breaks.
"What's your problem?"
She got out and collected her bags. "I refuse to go to a shelter. If you won't let me into your home somebody will!" She yelled and stormed off down the street, dragging her trash bags behind her.
I got out the car. "Aye where you going!"
"Somewhere!" Mo yelled still dragging her bags.
I laughed to myself and got back into the driver's seat. She was crazy if she thought I was about to chase her. I had other shit to do today.

The blazing sun was melting my face. Why the hell is it so hot in the beginning of March. My body collapsed on the sidewalk. I laid there looking up at the sun. I felt someone come into my presence.
"Hi there." A jolly voice blared through my ears.
My eyes focused on the girl that was standing there. It was Dorian. I was totally embarrassed.
"Oh hi." I said pushing my hair out my face and trying to dry up my tears.
"What are you doing out here on the side of the street?" Dorian asked.
"I should be asking you the same thing." I said.
She laughed. "I always go for a thirty minute walk everyday. I was walking and I saw you laying in the grass. Do you need some help? Do you want me to give you a lift home?"
"See um, that's the thing. I don't have a home anymore."
Empathy filled her blue eyes. "Come on. " she grabbed my hand and grabbed one of my trash bags.
We walked for about 20 minutes until we finally made it to a brick house. It wasn't humongous, but it wasn't small either.
We walked up to the front door. Dorian pulled a key from her pocket and unlocked the door. When we entered she put my trash bag down.
"Welcome to my humble abode." She said and smiled. "It's kinda messy. My maid hasn't came to clean this week."
"Maid? How old are you?"
"Sixteen." She showed her pearly whites.
"Where are your parents?"
"I ran away from my foster parents. They were abusive. I've never found my real parents, so I gave up looking for them."
I was lost for words. "Wait. Who's house is this?"
"Mine."
"B-But how? Your sixteen."
"I take the easy way out."She opened a bottle of water and began to drink from it.
"And that's the easy way out?"
"Doing a little stripping here and there. I can get you into the club with me if you'd like."
I thought about what she was saying. "It just wouldn't feel right being a stripper."
Dorian laughed. "Okay suit ya self. Now let me show you to your room."

My entire apartment was filled with smoke from the cigar I was smoking on. I was strung out.
The banging on my apartment door made anger come over my body. Who the hell could this be? I put my cigar in the ash tray and walked to the door.
"Who is it."
"Open the door man!" I heard the sound of Nick's voice.
I opened the door and he ran inside.
"Where's your remote!?" Nick yelled.
"Boy what?"
"The remote to the TV!"
"It's on the couch somewhere."
Nick tossed all of the cover off the couch and found the remote to the television. Once he did, he turned it on and flipped to channel four. Which was the news.
"Officer Puckett was gunned down two days ago. We have a witness today who witnessed the scene unfold." The lady gave the microphone to a homeless looking man. "Tell is what you saw sir."
"Uh. I didn't see much because it was night time. But I did see some teenage boys." The man said as spit flew from his mouth.
"And what did these boys look like sir?"
"I'm not sure. Like I said, I didn't see much."
"Thank you sir. The officers have found a gun where the crime scene took place. It is being tested for fingerprints at the moment. We will not rest until we find the killer. I am Sharon Geti and this is KNOE news."
Nick turned the TV off. "What are we going to do King?"
"WE!? Boy I didn't pull that trigger." I told him.
"You serious right now? You're suppose to be my brother."
I exhaled deeply. "They are not going to arrest you Nick."
"Yes they are. My fingerprints are on that gun!"
"You shouldn't have been stupid and dropped the butch. That's your own fault." I fussed at him.
He sat down on my bed and I heard him sniffing.
"I know damn well you ain't crying."
"I don't want to go to jail bro." He cried on my shoulder.
"Get off me!" I jerked away from him. "Just calm down. I'm gonna get you out of this."
"How?"
"I know a person."
